The Thailand & Southeast Asia Era
“The Thailand era” is editorial shorthand for a Thailand-centred run of HIMR records, not a verified period of continuous residence. The preserved title sequence has an earlier Malaysia-trip account in 2018, a separate Malaysia-labelled run in mid-2022, a Thailand-move-labelled transition in October 2022, Vietnam-trip-labelled records in January 2023, and further Thailand-labelled records through early 2024. Dates below are archive record labels unless stated otherwise.
2018: Patreon Malaysia-trip prelude
Section titled “2018: Patreon Malaysia-trip prelude”Three access-controlled Patreon bodies add a planning-to-return sequence four years before the public 2022 Malaysia-labelled videos. All three are L under the Patreon Source Catalogue’s access scheme: their public pages expose title/date metadata, while the summaries below come from the retained locked bodies. They are Daniel’s accounts, not passenger, border, lodging, or family records; no attachment, private itinerary, or exact location is reproduced.
- In The Malaysia trip (April 16, 2018), Daniel claims he, his wife, mother, and sister were discussing a family trip and that he was comparing travel and lodging options. He describes the plan as dependent on other people’s availability. This establishes planning in his account, not a booking or completed journey.
- In Malaysia preparations (April 21), Daniel claims he was weighing camera, luggage, clothing, and other practical choices for a roughly two-week trip expected to include islands. His comments about possibly remaining in Japan are expectations, not evidence of a residence decision or immigration outcome.
- In Island life (June 2), Daniel claims he was then on an island with the family group, describes swimming and beach activity, and says he expected to return to Japan the following week and resume his usual videos. The body does not name the island; its placement in the Malaysia planning sequence is not independent location confirmation.
2022: regional prelude and the Thailand-labelled transition
Section titled “2022: regional prelude and the Thailand-labelled transition”Malaysia in June and July
Section titled “Malaysia in June and July”The source-title sequence begins before the Thailand-move-labelled run. The archive labels a June 30
video Why I’m moving to Malaysia, followed by Malaysia-labelled records from July
2 through July 9 and Why i had to Leave Malaysia on July 13. The June 30 and July
13 boundary records both resolve to raw media in Internet Archive item 699992 and
bracket a Malaysia-focused title run; “moving” remains the title’s wording rather
than an independently verified relocation.
The June 30-labelled Why I’m moving to Malaysia contains a narrower account than its move-like title. Near the end, the machine text renders Daniel describing fatigue after a long flight, plans to eat and visit relatives, and two weeks in Malaysia. This is a short-trip expectation within the regional prelude, not an independently established relocation, itinerary or completed length of stay. The relatives are left unnamed.
Thailand-move-labelled sequence
Section titled “Thailand-move-labelled sequence”Three source titles form a chronological label sequence:
- September 21: I M MOVING TO THAILAND (soon).
- October 5: Last Stream in the UK before i go to THAILAND.
- October 10: Moving to Thailand to meet my Thai girlfriend!.
The October 10 raw video was manually spot-checked at 07:45, 08:20, 10:55, and 12:00. Those frames visibly show an elevator/corridor sequence, suite signage, and the interior of a multi-room hotel suite. The checked footage verifies the hotel sequence, while the destination and relationship context depend on the archive title.
The same public raw video has a narrower machine-speech lead. Two independent transcription passes materially agree at 00:11:54–00:12:15 in rendering Daniel as expecting to meet the person associated with the Thai-girlfriend label within hours. They also render him describing a conditional upload plan: publishing that night if the plan did not work out, but waiting several days if it did.
October 2022: an accommodation account
Section titled “October 2022: an accommodation account”A separate archive-labelled video from October 19 adds a limited housing detail to the Thailand sequence. Its machine transcript renders Daniel describing an apartment where he was staying and explaining that he had taken steps to keep the location undisclosed. He characterizes the arrangement as informal. This is his unverified account, not a confirmed lease, payment, immigration status, exact location, or proof of how long he stayed there.
Bangkok-labelled duplicate records
Section titled “Bangkok-labelled duplicate records”By October 21, the index contains two records titled exploring streets of bangkok
and exploring streets of bangkok (2). Both resolve to the same archived filename
and SHA-1 hash (fad510f6…). They are alternate transcript records for one media
object, not two independently corroborating records.
2023: Vietnam- and Thailand-labelled catalogue expansion
Section titled “2023: Vietnam- and Thailand-labelled catalogue expansion”Vietnam-trip-labelled records
Section titled “Vietnam-trip-labelled records”The January index contains a Vietnam-labelled run between Thailand-labelled records. We went to Vietnam and Eating $11 curry Steak in Vietnam, both labelled January 6, share one raw-video URL and SHA-1 hash. Likewise, the January 10 titles $12 overnight sleeper bus in Vietnam and DO NOT ride the sleeper bus in Vietnam share one media object. Counting each title as an independent source would therefore overstate the evidence.
Return-labelled and Phuket material
Section titled “Return-labelled and Phuket material”The January 12-labelled I’m back in thailand! provides a possible reason for the Vietnam interlude. At 04:41.334–04:52.655, the machine transcript renders Daniel saying that his Thai entry permission had run out, that he went to Vietnam to reset it, and that he received a 45-day stamp on returning. This adds his stated purpose to the travel-labelled sequence; it is not confirmation of a border crossing, immigration status, or applicable entry rules. A following suggestion that he could extend the stay is a plan, not evidence that an extension happened.
The archive labels a May 9 record I’m BACK in Thailand. On May 29 it records Honeymoon trip with my Girlfriend in Phuket — 1 year together ❤️. That media URL is also attached to a May 30 transcript record titled My Trip to Phuket — Amazing Islands, so those two records are not independent sources.
The July 17 record what its really like living in Thailand after 1 year is a useful creator-defined milestone. It is not an exact anniversary: the archive’s October 2022 meeting-labelled sequence and the title’s “after 1 year” wording may be measuring different things.
August 2023 Ice Poseidon sequence
Section titled “August 2023 Ice Poseidon sequence”The archive preserves an August 6 raw video titled Confronting Ice Poseidon in real life. Direct frame checks across the complete 09:53.85 file show Daniel filming in a public shopping-centre setting and an on-camera encounter near the end; the source title supplies the Ice Poseidon label. The frames do not establish what was said or any later legal event.
More importantly, the immediate archive chronology does not support the community timeline’s claim that Daniel promptly fled Thailand to avoid association after an August incident. It preserves an August 7 apology-labelled video, an August 10 Thailand cat-café-labelled video, and Ice-stuck-in-Thailand commentary labelled August 12 and August 18. Other Thailand-labelled records also continue between those dates. That sequence cannot prove Daniel’s physical location on every day. It does not support the proposed immediate-flight chronology or motive.
2024 and the end boundary
Section titled “2024 and the end boundary”The transcript index contains Thailand-labelled titles in early 2024, including last trip with my girlfriend before i leave Thailand FOREVER (January 12), my Last month in Thailand (February 2), and room tour of my Luxury Thailand Apartment (March 8). None had a raw-video URL in the August 25, 2026 manifest; supplemental archive reconciliation on August 27 located candidate raw files for these cited records. Because their contents have not been reviewed, they remain weaker evidence than the 2022–2023 video-checked sequence.
The snapshot therefore does not establish one exact departure date. For the related generic relationship labels, see Thai-girlfriend-labelled records.
February 2024: Thai-language study retrospective
Section titled “February 2024: Thai-language study retrospective”The February 11, 2024 filename-labelled my Experience Living in Thailand on a Student Visa and Learning Thai adds a study account to the travel chronology. Its machine transcript renders Daniel saying that he had attended a Thai-language course for several months and completed it. Later, it renders him saying that the classes had finished a couple of months earlier and that he was spending the remainder of his claimed student-visa period in Thailand. This is his account, not an independently established enrolment, qualification, immigration status or departure date. The closing shorthand about nearly a year at language school should not be converted into a year of classroom attendance: the earlier passage distinguishes the classes from the longer period he describes staying there.
An undated, mixed retrospective
Section titled “An undated, mixed retrospective”The recovered why i was unhappy living in Thailand does not simply end with a rejection of the country. The machine transcript renders Daniel criticizing the traffic and difficulty of walking around Bangkok, and describing Thai food as poorly matched to his preferences. In its closing passage, however, it renders him saying he would like to return eventually, valuing affordability and his experience of the city’s social atmosphere, and preferring Thailand to Japan if choosing where to live. These are his personal evaluations, not factual assessments of either country’s people or living conditions. The source is undated in the retained catalogue; its opening reference to recently returning to the UK cannot establish when it was recorded.
The separate undated Japan departure account supplies an additional return-to-UK explanation without resolving this era’s exact end date.
Verification status and concise sources
Section titled “Verification status and concise sources”This page is video checked for the limited visible October 10 hotel sequence and source matched for the wider chronology. No claim here establishes legal residence, an address, or a relationship event independently of Daniel’s own public record.
