Annoying things my Japanese wife does that irritate me

Hi and welcome to my video, annoying

things that my wife does that irritates

me.

As a married man, I've been living with my

wife for about 8 months now, and I've

started to notice a few things that she

does which kind of tickles my toes.

Little things that didn't really bother me

or irritate me that much when I first

started living with her, But after living

with her for a while now, I've started to

notice that there are these tiny things

she does that kind of irritates me. Okay,

so number 1, she always leaves the hair

dryer untangled all over the floor. After

she finishes using it, she doesn't wind up

the cord and put it back where it's

supposed to go, which is over there. So

every morning I wake up and I have to put

away the hair dryer. It only takes 10

seconds. Why can't she do it? Number 2,

she always leaves the balcony door open.

She says it's hot, and it's not that hot

yet. I know in Japan it gets very hot

during the summer, but it's not It's not

the middle of summer yet, and I don't feel

like it's that hot. And I don't like the

door being open because it's very noisy

outside. You can hear all the cars and

motorbikes driving past. You can hear all

the old grannies and women chattering away

as they walk past, and it's just

irritating. I don't like listening to the

sound of the outside. When I'm at home, I

like to exist in my own little bubble,

you know. I like to relax, and being able

to hear the outside kind of breaks me out

of my My little bubble. Number 3:

She always touches the mirror using her

fingers on the glass, leaving fingerprints

all over it. So every morning I have to

wake up and I have to wipe the mirror

because it's covered in smudges and finger

oil and fingerprints, and it looks

disgusting. I don't understand why she

doesn't just hold the mirror by the edges

on the plastic bits, which is what I do.

That way you don't get fingerprints on the

glass. I don't think I'm a very tidy

person. I'm a very lazy, untidy person,

actually. But there's a few things, like

the fingerprints thing on the mirror and

the hairdryer being left on the floor in a

big mess, that kind of irritates me, and

I'm not sure why that is. Maybe it's some

kind of OCD thing. For example, she always

leaves the washing gloves— the washing-up

gloves— on the bin instead of up here,

which is where they usually go. She also

likes to wrap things in cling film. For

example, if I cut an onion in half and I

use half of it, and I put the remaining

half into the fridge. The next day when I

go to use it, I'll find that it's wrapped

in plastic, and it's just a little bit

irritating to have to unwrap it and then

chuck away the plastic. It just feels like

it's a waste of cling film, and it's not

really necessary. She says that if you

don't wrap it up, it will go dry, and I

don't really care if it goes dry because

I'm gonna use it the next day, and it's

not gonna dry out in one day, and I'm

gonna cook it. Anyway, so it's gonna dry

out in the frying pan. For some reason,

Japanese people love to wrap things in

plastic. For example, if you go to a

supermarket and you buy a bag of cakes,

every single cake will be individually

wrapped in plastic. They love wrapping

things in plastic. Apart from sausages,

I've never had a Japanese woman ask me to

use a condom before, and that was how I

got chlamydia 4 years ago. She also likes

to turn the TV on in the mornings when

she's getting ready for work, and I'm

still sleeping. I'm still in bed. And it's

kind of annoying having to listen to

screaming, shouting Japanese people on TV

at 8 AM in the morning, which is very

early for me. Japanese TV is so different

compared to English TV. I would describe

Japanese TV as being chaotic. It's just so

noisy. It's just like noise, noise, noise

in your face the whole time, screaming and

shouting. For example, if you watch the

new Samsung S9+ advert, The Japanese

version. It's just this guy screaming at

you. It's weird. I don't understand why

they have to shout and scream when they

speak. Can't they just speak calmly?

have to listen to noisy Japanese adverts

like that when I'm trying to sleep. It's

so irritating. And this mirror is covered

in fingerprints. She also gets upset when

I stick chopsticks vertically into my

rice. Sometimes I like to stick my

chopsticks into rice because it's easier

than balancing them on the top of the bowl

where it could roll off and make a mess.

But every time I try and stick my

chopsticks into rice, she tells me not to,

and then she takes them out, and I feel

kind of annoyed. I feel like I'm being

scolded like a child. Who cares if my

chopsticks are sticking into my rice? I

know it's like an Asian custom where it's

rude to stick your chopsticks into rice

because that's what they do at funerals to

honor the person who died, but we're not

at a funeral and there's no one else here

who could get offended by it. It's just us

two alone. But she can't— she just can't

sit there and leave my chopsticks and let

them be. She has to touch them.

Obviously, I wouldn't do it if we were out

at dinner with her family, and I

wouldn't do it in front of other people,

but when it's just us two here by

ourselves, does it really matter if I'm

sticking my chopsticks into my rice? She

also does this thing where she puts the

electric fan over there in the corner far

away, and she sets it to rotate. Mode, so

it blows air all over the room. And I say—

I asked her why she does this, and she

says it's to blow air all over the place

to cool down the room. But it's just

blowing hot air around. Why don't you just

put the fan near to us and put it onto a

low setting so it actually blows air

directly at us instead of all over the

She also likes to empty the water from the

coffee machine even though we haven't used

the water yet, and she says That you have

to keep changing the water in the coffee

machine because the water will go off if

you leave it in there for too long. And I

said, no, it doesn't. Water doesn't go

off. It's not milk. You can leave water in

there for hundreds of days and it'll be

fine to drink. I've seriously never heard

anyone say that water can go off before.

Does it go off? I don't know. Maybe dust

can collect into it, and maybe some

bacteria might get into it and then

multiply. Is that going off? Does it

really matter? It's not like that

bacterial dust is gonna kill you. We have

millions of bacteria on our bodies all the

time anyway. A little bit of bacteria in

the water isn't gonna do anything. And

number 5, my final irritating thing that

she does is, um, she puts a lot of towels

into the laundry basket. She uses a towel

once and then she'll put it straight into

the pink basket, which is for laundry.

And I think that's kind of strange. I can

use the same towel for weeks without

washing it, and I think it's fine because

you've just had a shower, your body's

clean, what you're wiping, what you're

drying off is clean. So why do you need to

keep washing the towel? She also wears

clothing for about 1 day and then she puts

it straight into the washing machine. I

don't think it's really necessary to wash—

to wash clothing after you've only worn it

for 1 day. It's not going to get that

dirty. So what happens is we get loads of

laundry. As you see, this huge pile of

laundry, just towels, mainly towels, and I

have to do the laundry. This is my towel.

You see, I've used it once and then I lay

it out on the bed to dry, and then I use

it again the next day. I don't wash my

towel every single day. That's just weird.

Hello and welcome to today's Cooking with

Daniel. Today we're going to be making

Something a little bit different. We're

going to be making a curry pizza, and it's

just basically a pizza, but instead of

tomato sauce or tomato puree, we're going

to use this beef curry

as sauce. And we also have bacon,

cheese, and a red pepper.

And the most important part, Milano Okay,

so first things first, we need to slice

the red pepper into tiny pieces so we can

sprinkle it onto the top of the pizza. So

this is how you cut a red pepper. First,

slice off the top like

this. You might have to slice a bit deeper

to get rid of this green bit. And then

remove the plastic.

Remove these green pieces as well.

And then just slice this into little tiny

I'm now going to show you how to remove

the seeds from a red pepper. Now it's very

easy, just slice away the connecting parts

from the inside of the red pepper and

then insert your fingers into the gaps and

just pluck it out, yank it out, and then

toss it to the side.

After you finish slicing the red pepper,

we can squeeze out the curry sauce onto

the pizza crust and make sure to spread it

out nice and evenly.

After you finish spreading it out with the

knife, we can sprinkle on the toppings.

First, begin with the red peppers. And

then add some bacon directly on top and

finish it off with a sprinkling of cheese.

And we also have some basil for some extra

herby flavors.

And then pop it into the oven and let it

toast or grill or cook for about a minute.

I'm not sure, you can try guessing. Just

make sure it doesn't burn. And there

we have it, finished product, the curry

pizza. I think it looks very tasty.

As you can see, everything's cooked nicely

on top. The cheese is melted, the bacon

has gone nice and pink,

and yeah, I think it looks very nice. I

think it's a success. I'm gonna try it out

now and I'll tell you about it later.

I can taste the curry flavors, the bacon,

the red pepper, the cheese. Everything

just blends together really

well. It's actually better than a

regular pizza, I would even say.
