Why I Love Living In Japan

Hello and welcome to today's video. So

recently I've been making quite a lot of

negative videos about Japan, and some

people got upset about it. So I thought,

why don't I counterbalance things and make

a positive video about Japan? I want to

talk about reasons why I love living in

Japan, and I do like living in this

country. I don't hate living here.

Otherwise, why would I live here? Why

would I live in a country that I hated?

That doesn't make any sense. The video

that I made talking about reasons why I

don't like living in Japan was focusing on

negative things. So today we're going to

be focusing on positive things. Let's talk

about food. I like the food here. Okay,

it's a bit inconvenient not being able to

buy the bacon that I like, but it's not

the end of the world. There's lots of

things that you can buy in Japan that you

can't buy in England, or it's kind of

difficult to buy in England. For example,

Chinese cabbage. I love Chinese cabbage,

and it's so easy to buy in Japan. They

sell it in every supermarket, every

market. But in England, you have to go to

a special shop to buy Chinese cabbage.

You can't buy Chinese cabbage in a typical

English supermarket. I also

love daikon, which is a Japanese radish.

You can't really buy daikon in England.

You have to go to a special Chinese

supermarket if you want to buy daikon. I

like going to Japanese supermarkets

because they always have interesting cuts

of meats that you don't usually find in a

British supermarket. For example, you can

get thinly sliced pieces of pork or beef

that you can use in soups, and you can

combine that with the Chinese cabbage.

And make a really nice soup. Also, you can

get pork belly that's in like a

block, and I'm going to show you how to

cook that later on at the end of this

video if you would like to stick around

for Cooking with Daniel. Also, in Japanese

supermarkets, there is a huge variety of

tofu and soy products. I love soy

products. I love soy milk, tofu. I eat it

on a daily basis. Daily basis. There's

just so many different types of tofu that

you can buy here. You can buy soft tofu,

you can buy firm tofu, you can buy

deep-fried tofu. Back in England, not many

people eat tofu, so when you go to the

supermarket, you'll find that there's not

many types of tofu for sale, which I find

extremely disappointing. Another thing I

like about Japanese supermarkets is

usually they have a huge selection of

fried foods and bentos. Also, sometimes

the supermarkets have a bakery and they

give out free samples of bread. They'll

put out a basket with tiny pieces of bread

that they've cut into small squares that

you can sample. And sometimes when I'm

feeling hungry, I just go into a

supermarket and I try out the bread, and

then I leave without buying anything.

Another thing I like about Japanese

supermarkets is when I'm paying for my

food and there's a really cute girl behind

the cash register. She has lovely straight

black hair, really cute eyes, a cute

smile. And for a split second, our eyes

meet. My heart starts racing, my hands go

sweaty, and I think to myself, is this

what love feels like? And when she hands

me back my change, I reach out my hand and

her fingertips accidentally touch my

fingertips, and it's magical. There's also

lots of Japanese restaurants that I like.

For example, Sukiya, Saizeriya, and I love

Korean barbecue. I think Korean barbecue

is my favorite food in Japan. Every time I

come to Japan, the first thing I want to

eat is Korean barbecue, and there's loads

of really good Korean barbecue restaurants

in Japan all over the place. In England,

you have to go into London if you even

want to find a Korean barbecue place.

Another reason why I love Japan so much is

because the girls here are great. Back

home in England, I was never able to find

a girlfriend, but when I came to Japan, I

find it very easy to find at least one or

two girls who are willing to have a

physical relationship with me. Some people

like to make fun of me. They say he has to

fly all the way to Japan just to have sex,

and I don't understand why that's a bad

thing. I like being here, and the girls

here are way more attractive than the

girls are back in my hometown. If it

wasn't for Japan, I think I would still be

a virgin, or I would have resorted to

going to some kind of prostitute. As a

man, I don't think that there's any worse

punishment than being sexually depraved by

women. And I think we all know the

terrible things that a sexually depraved

man is capable of doing. So I would like

to thank Japan for saving

me. There's lots of other little things

that I like about living in Japan. For

example, it's, it's very clean, it feels

safe, feels orderly. I don't feel like I'm

in danger all of the time. I don't feel

scared to walk around at night when

there's no one around. The trains. The

trains are very good. They're very

affordable, very reliable. In England, it

costs at least 5 times more to use the

train than it costs here. Also, in England

where I'm from, the train only comes once

an hour. So if you miss the train, you

have to wait for a whole hour until the

next one comes. Another reason why I like

Japan is because I think Japanese as a

language sounds really cool. I was 18 when

I first watched an anime, and then I

switched it from English to Japanese, and

That was the first time I heard Japanese

being spoken properly, and I thought to

myself, this sounds really cool. I want to

learn how to speak it. Sometimes people

ask me why don't I learn Chinese since my

mum's Chinese, and the reason why I don't

learn Chinese or Cantonese is because I

think it sounds weird. It doesn't sound

cool to me, and if a language doesn't

sound cool, then I'm not going to be

interested in learning it. Also, I'm not

interested in girls from China or Hong

Kong or Taiwan or Malaysia. And if I'm not

interested in the girls from a country,

then I'm definitely not going to be

interested in learning that country's

language. And, um, yeah, rent is very

cheap in Japan. For example, my apartment

that I'm living in now costs about

¥50,000, which is around $500,

and it's a pretty nice place. You get a

big room, you get a

kitchen, shower, bathtub, toilet, You get

a balcony with a washing machine, and

since I'm splitting it half with my

girlfriend, I only have to pay about $250

every month for rent. That's pretty good,

isn't it? Do you think you could find a

place like this in America or England or

Europe for $500 a month? I don't think so.

Rent just seems to be very cheap in this

country. I was on Airbnb last night

looking for Airbnbs in California for some

reason, and They cost at least $2,500

to get an Airbnb for a whole month. But in

Osaka, it would cost about $400 to $500 to

find a place. I mean, look at this place.

It's huge. You can fit a TV, a table,

a double bed,

and you can put some stuff in the corner.

You even get a closet and you

get— what else do you get? You get this

huge kitchen.

Bathtub, shower, sink, toilet.

What else do you need? All for the low,

low price of ¥50,000.

Can you get a place like this in America?

No, I don't think so. Absolutely not.

And that's what makes Japan great. You can

be poor like me and you don't have to

become homeless.

Here we have the block of pork belly

sliced thinly into thin slices.

We're now putting them into the frying pan

so we can fry them. Okay, so Japan

doesn't really have good bacon, but I

think they make up for it with this, this

piece of pork. It's kind of like bacon on

steroids. There's lots of fat, it's very

thick, and it's delicious.

We also have some kimchi, kimchi radish

and kimchi cucumber, which goes really

well with the oily fatty meat. And as

you can see, it's It's starting

to cook,

I think.

Okay, so as you can see, the meat is

starting to go brown, which is a very good

sign. It means that it's becoming

delicious. I like to leave it in the

frying pan until it goes kind of crispy,

but you have to be careful that it doesn't

burn. Also, you're going to get a lot of

oil from this because there's a lot of

fat, and you have to be careful

not to burn yourself. The fat starts

spitting out of the pan, and it can be

very hot, so Be careful.
