my WORST Customer Service Experience in Thailand

And then we went back to the restaurant,

to the hotel. And then it was like 7 or

8 PM. I'm starving hungry, super tired and

fatigued. And we go to the hotel

restaurant and I'm thinking, okay, now I

just want to have a nice meal. There's no

one in the restaurant. Great. No, no

people I have to worry about. We order

the steak. At the bar,

there's like 3 waitresses, a bartender

standing around doing nothing, just

chatting because there's no customers.

And we order. I tell my girlfriend I want

this steak, sirloin steak with chips. And

then she says in Thai that I want the

steak and we go and sit down at the table.

I'm waiting like 30 minutes and still no

freaking steak. So she Waves over

to the staff, says, hi, hey, we ordered a

steak. Where is it? And they didn't even

start making the steak. They,

they're not even making anything. I don't

know what happened, like some kind of

miscommunication, but they didn't seem to

get the order, even though we clearly

ordered the steak at the counter.

So I'm sitting there starving, waiting for

30 minutes for nothing. And I actually

lose my temper and I raise my voice at the

staff, which I've never done in my entire

life. And I was like shaking because of

the adrenaline. And I was like, but we

ordered the steak at the bar. How come

you're not making it? I actually raised my

voice at the waitress. I was so pissed

off. Because this

happens a lot in Thailand. It happened the

day before we went to Burger King on the

first day in Phuket. We went to Burger

King and I was waiting like 20 minutes for

my freaking burger. I ordered a chicken

cheeseburger at Burger King and I saw the

guy give my burger to a different guy.

And then he realizes they gave him the

wrong order, order, and he ran to the guy

Said, sorry, this is the wrong order. And

I can tell that's my burger because I can

smell it. I can smell the chicken and

cheese. And they put the burger in the bin

and start making a new burger for me.

They're so stupid. They can't— I

don't know what is wrong with them here.

They can't get orders right. So I'm

sitting there waiting for 30 minutes for

my Burger King burger, chicken and cheese.

And I see them in the kitchen. Like

there's a woman and it was a young guy

who's making my burger and doing the

order. And the woman is telling him off

saying, you did the wrong order. This is

the wrong one. What are you doing? Get the

burger back. So he runs back to get the

burger. So I was pissed off because of the

Burger King thing. And then the same thing

happens again the next day. We order a

steak and they don't even make the steak

until we say, excuse me, where's my steak?

And they gave us a free plate of pineapple

and watermelon, and they gave us a 20%

discount to say sorry. But my girlfriend

starts crying because I'm like raging.

She thinks I'm raging at her, which I'm

not. She said, why are you angry at me?

Why don't you be angry at them? I said,

I'm not angry at you. I'm just angry.

So she thinks I'm being angry at her. So

she starts crying. So now I'm getting more

angry because I'm like, why are you

crying? I'm not angry at you, I'm just

angry because they, they're so dumb.

Why? Where's my steak? Oh my

I like to bitch and moan a lot when I'm

pissed off. She doesn't like it. She

thinks I'm being angry at her when I'm

not. I'm just bitching and moaning.

Usually I don't have anger issues and I'm

quite patient and calm, but after a whole

day on this torture ride speedboat,

I just broke. I was at breaking point. I

was starving. I was Hungry, tired, and

these idiots can't even get an order

right. Completely empty restaurant, not

like they were rushed off their feet.

They're just standing around laughing and

chatting. This is the thing that pisses me

off about Thailand. They don't take their

work seriously. They're just standing

around laughing and chatting and playing.

It's weird to use the word playing because

it's like you're talking about kids, but

But the word playing is exactly the word I

would use to describe people here.

They're laughing and slapping each other

and having a good time when they should be

working. This is not playtime.

You're supposed to be working.

Make my fucking steak, not laughing and

chatting and looking on your phone. I'm

getting so pissed off. At the customer

service in this country. Oh my

they're just having a jolly good time

laughing and chatting. It's so irritating.

I'm like sitting there waiting for my

order, looking at them slapping and

running around like they're kids. They

look like they're kids. Like 15-year-olds

at school. They're supposed to be adults

at work. I'm paying you to make my fucking

food.

I get so annoyed. Like yesterday we

went to a ramen restaurant at our local

supermarket and I now have trauma that

they're going to forget my order. We order

ramen, fried chicken, and a beer. Waiting

for the ramen comes first. And I'm

thinking, where's my beer? Surely the beer

should come first because you don't have

to make the beer. You just take it out of

the fridge. So I said, maybe you should

ask if they forgot my beer or not. I think

they forgot the beer because they didn't

bring it until we asked for it. So now

I've got trauma every time we go to a

restaurant. Have they forgotten my order

again? Please tell me you didn't forget

it. We just ordered it. You wrote it down

on a piece of paper. We shouldn't have to

keep reminding you to bring me my beeru.

So I'm so triggered now at restaurants.

Why is it so hard? I order a beer,

bring me the fucking beer.

This boat trip in Phuket has really broken

me when it comes to ordering food at

restaurants. I'm actually shaking right

now with anger.

I just, I don't understand

it. Why is it so difficult for them? You

write my order on a paper and then you go

and get it. It's like they write down your

order and then they forget and you have to

constantly keep reminding them.

So I had a terrible time day 2 in Phuket.

I couldn't control my temper anymore.

And I mean, I'm at like 90% rage

mode right now. I was at maybe 40% rage

mode. I usually don't activate rage

mode unless I'm alone. And I'm streaming

and I'm in a safe place. I never rage mode

in public in front of people. And I never

rage mode at staff because, you know, I

never want to be that guy who's rude to

staff. But I just, I couldn't contain it

anymore. I actually snapped and

I was shaking. I was like, like my body

language was all over the place with my

anger. I actually nearly Could have

broke something. Like, I— if I

rage mode another 20%, I could have

actually smashed something because I was

pissed. I don't usually

raise my voice in public, but that was the

one time when I just couldn't control it

any longer. Oh my God.

But after I let the rage out, I felt kind

of stupid, like I was a spoiled kid.
