Game of Thrones S8E04 Explained

Game of Thrones episode 4, season 8

has just finished. Well, I just finished

watching it, and here's a video of me

telling you what happened in it, and then

I'll tell you what I thought of it. So the

episode begins with all of the heroes

gathering, and they've collected all of

the dead heroes and the dead soldiers,

the dead Unsullied, and the poor Dothraki

that were sacrificed for absolutely no

reason at the beginning of the last

episode. They gather them into square

boxes and set them on fire, wishing them

farewell, making speeches thanking them

for their sacrifice. And Jon has a little

speech saying that they should never be

forgotten. Boo-hoo. There's a few sad

scenes of some of the main characters that

died last episode. Theon and

Jorah and some others I can't remember

because I don't really care. There's a few

scenes of everyone celebrating, drinking

wine, and Tormund gets drunk and

starts raving about how Jon is great.

And Dany is upset because she's realizing

that Jon is actually her nephew, and she's

worried about people supporting him and

not supporting her. It's as if all she

cares about is people respecting her, and

as soon as she senses that people aren't

respecting her, she starts having a little

tantrum. And then Jaime and Brienne,

they hook up and have sex, which is kind

of weird. There's also a pretty nice scene

where Bronn finds Jaime and Tyrion,

and Tyrion and Jaime, they think, oh,

it's Bronn, our friend. How did he find

us? What's he doing here? Oh, he's just

here for a nice friendly chat. They don't

seem to really care that he's pointing a

crossbow at them until he punches Tyrion

in the nose and makes him bleed. And Jaime

stands up to try and stop him, but he

can't because he only has one hand and he

doesn't have a weapon. And even if Bronn

didn't have the crossbow, I think Jaime

still couldn't beat Bronn hand-to-hand,

one versus one. He only has one hand.

And I don't think Tyrion would be much use

in a fight, so Bronn has them by the balls

and he sits them down. And says that he

wants to kill them unless they can offer

him something better than what Cersei has.

And Tyrion does his little thing where

he's good at words, good with words, and

he manages to convince, persuade Bronn not

to shoot them. And he offers some castle,

Highgarden or something. Bronn says,

okay, that sounds good. And then he says,

I'll be back, Terminator style. And then

he leaves them. Sansa and Daenerys don't

really like each other. Sansa wants to let

the men rest a bit so that they can

recover, recuperate, but Dany, no, she

wants to march them all down to King's

Landing straight away to fight Cersei.

They have a little falling out, but Jon

takes Dany's side and they agree to march

all the troops down to King's Landing.

Dany takes some ships and the Unsullied

and 2 of the dragons. To Dragonstone,

but then she gets ambushed by Euron

Greyjoy, who shoots a big arrow at the

second dragon, which gets died— I mean,

gets killed and falls into the ocean. Now

there's only one dragon left. What will

they do? Dany gets very upset and does a

stupid little charge towards Euron's fleet

of ships whilst the fleet of ships fire

another salvo of arrows at her. She

Somehow magically manages to dodge all of

the arrows and gets away. She's very angry

now that her second dragon has been

killed. They all wash up on the shore

after all their ships are obliterated by

Euron's big arrows. And they realize that

the, the woman that Grey Worm fancies who

has big hair, she's missing. Well, she got

kidnapped by Euron, and now she's a

prisoner of Cersei. Dany wants to fly her

last dragon down to King's Landing and

napalm the shit out of King's Landing,

but Cersei has cleverly moved all of the

citizens into the main castle, so if Dany

did that, she would end up— she would end

up killing most of the population of

King's Landing. The bald fat man, Varys,

and Tyrion advise her not to do that

because she shouldn't kill thousands and

thousands of innocent people. And then for

some reason they think it's a good idea to

march what little forces they have left

all the way down to King's Landing, stand

outside of the gates, dragon included,

and try and negotiate. They demand Cersei

to surrender, which is the stupidest thing

ever. Did they seriously think that Cersei

would surrender when she has the upper

hand? Cersei has her entire army at full

strength plus the Golden Company,

or whatever they're called, plus Euron's

ships, and they have all those massive

crossbows. What does Dany have? She has

one dragon, hardly any Unsullied left,

no Dothraki left, and a handful of Starks,

northerners. That's it. How do they

possibly think they can beat Cersei now?

And before, everyone thought, oh, the

dragons, she has dragons, so she's

invincible. Well, they're not so

invincible now that Cersei has loads of

massive crossbows lined up all on top of

her castle walls aiming at the dragon. I

don't understand why Cersei didn't just

shoot them all right there and get it over

with. Why did she let them walk away when

she knew that there was going to be a

battle coming? Cersei demands that Dany

surrenders or else she'll kill the woman

that Grey Skull— Grey Worm fancies, the

one with the big hair. Dany obviously

refuses to surrender, and the big-haired

woman has her head cut off, and Grey

Worm's very upset, and he nearly cries

like a little girl. Dany's also very

upset, and she walks back to her dragon.

And this would have been a great

opportunity for Cersei to have just killed

the last dragon. It was right there,

standing there in the open, in front of

all of her massive crossbows. Why did she

let Dany just walk away? Why didn't she

just order her archers and her massive

crossbows to just shoot them all down

right there and get it over with. As if

Cersei has any honor or any sense of

morals. She could have done that easily

and then the whole thing would have been

over. But then, you know, if that

happened, then there wouldn't be any more

episodes left because the story would be

basically over, wouldn't it? And that is

the end of the episode. It was quite a

good episode. I think it was a lot better

than the Long Night, or the night that was

so dark you couldn't even see what was

happening. It was very tense during the

Bronn scene, and I kind of enjoyed how

Tyrion and Jaime didn't even realize that

Bronn was threatening to kill them until

Tyrion got punched in the face. It was

just lovely seeing the surprise, the

surprise on their faces as they realized

that they've been betrayed by Bronn.

And after seeing episode 4, I kind of

understand what the whole point of the

Night King was. Everyone thought that the

Night King was the ultimate villain and he

was the main villain of the story, when

actually it turns out that the Night King

was basically just a tool that was used to

destroy most of Dany and Jon Snow's army

so that it would make Cersei more

powerful, and then there would be more

tension. Because before the Night King

came down to Winterfell, Dany was easily

more powerful than Cersei. She had 3

dragons, she had the Dothraki, 100,000,

she had the Unsullied. There was no

tension because she was so much more

powerful and stronger than Cersei. So

Villains aren't very scary or intimidating

when they're weaker than the good guys.

And Cersei was definitely weaker than Dany

was before the whole Night King Winterfell

thing happened. Remember when the Dothraki

and the dragons absolutely destroyed one

of the Lannister armies and they thought

that they were doomed? Well, now I guess

the playing field has been evened out. I

feel kind of cheated on now because now I

just realized that the entire White

Walker, Night King plot storyline was just

a plot device to weaken the good guys so

that Cersei, the last remaining bad guy,

is now more powerful. And it created

tension, and now it's going to make

everyone wonder, oh, how, how will they

defeat Cersei now that they only have one

dragon, no Dothraki, and hardly any

Unsullied left? It kind of makes you

wonder, doesn't it? It kind of puts you

onto the edge of your seats. It makes you

want to find out how they're going to

defeat Cersei now. That 70% of their

forces have been destroyed. Oh, something

I forgot to mention, uh, the Hound and

Arya, they head down to King's Landing all

by themselves. Hopefully there's gonna be

a cool scene where the Hound gets

confronted or confronts the Mountain,

they have a 1 versus 1. I'm gonna guess

that the Hound puts up a good fight, but

he ultimately nearly gets defeated,

fatally wounded. Arya finishes off the

Mountain, and the Hound dies, and it's

very sad, and maybe Arya cries. I think

that Jaime should have a 1v1 epic intense

duel versus Euron Greyjoy,

and he wins only just, and then he

confronts Cersei, and then I don't know

really, anything could happen at this

point. I don't really have any good

predictions. I guess anything could

happen, and I'm really excited to see how

they decide to finish the entire series.

Who's gonna die? How's Cersei gonna die?

Well, it's been an exciting 9 years of

watching Game of Thrones. I've watched the

entire series about 3 times now because

every time I got a new girlfriend, I had

to watch it from the beginning. Because

for some reason, a lot of people don't

know about it and have never seen an

episode. And I'd ask them, have you seen

Game of Thrones? And they'd say, what's

that? And I would say, what do you mean,

what's that? How would you not know what

it is? And then I would make them watch it

with me from the very beginning,

and then we'd have sex.
