Why the Switch Lite is better than the Switch Original

Hello and welcome to my video where I'm

going to be talking about why the Switch

Lite is better than the Switch original.

Okay, so first of all, there's the price

to consider. The Switch Lite is $100

cheaper than the Switch original. $100 is

quite a lot of money if you don't have a

lot of money. Just imagine all of the

great fantastic things you could do with

$100 extra in your pocket. With $100,

you could buy at least 3 new games for

your brand new Switch Lite that you

wouldn't be able to if you bought the

Switch original. Now obviously Obviously

because the Switch Lite is cheaper, it

does have less features than the original

one does. You lose out on quite a lot of

things, and it really depends if you care

about these features or not. If you don't

really care about the features, then you

might as well save yourself $100 and then

just get the Lite version. So I guess the

main thing that you miss out on is the

Switch's ability to dock itself to a TV.

This was one of the main selling points of

the Switch. That's the whole reason why

it's called a Switch, because it switches

between handheld and dock mode. Dock mode

lets you play on a big TV and use

controllers so you can play like a

traditional console. Now for me

personally, I didn't really care if I

could dock it to the TV or not. I'm not

really much of a console gamer, and if I

wanted a console to play on the TV, I

would just get a PS4 or an Xbox. I think

that the whole point of the Switch is to

be a portable handheld device so you can

take it anywhere you go, put it into your

bag, play on the plane, play on the bus,

play on the train. So not being able to

play on the TV wasn't really a big deal

breaker to me, and I would happily

sacrifice the ability to dock. Now the

other things that you can't do on the

Switch Lite include not being able to

detach the Joy-Cons because they're fixed

onto the whole console. There's also a few

games that don't work properly because you

can't detach the Joy-Cons and it doesn't

have that motion thingy-majig. But those

games are usually stupid and made for

babies, and I don't really care about them

anyway. So moving on to the next point.

Now when it comes to why the Switch Lite

is better than the original, even though

it's lacking many of the main features

that the Switch original provides,

there's a lot of nice things about the

Switch Lite that mainly revolve around the

design of the console. For starters, in

general the console is slightly smaller,

more pocketable, and lighter. Also, it

feels better in the hand since you don't

get the squeaky Joy-Cons because they're

all fixed into the device. I also like the

way the Switch Lite comes in these funky

new colours like blue and yellow,

whereas the Switch original only comes in

black and you can change the colours of

the Joy-Cons. That's it really. And if you

care about the D-pad, it has a different

D-pad. It's actually one of those D-pads

instead of the D-pad that the original

Switch has, which is just like 4 buttons

in the shape of a D-pad. The Switch Lite

also has a slightly longer battery life,

30 minutes more battery life compared to

the Switch original, which is good if you

want to play for 30 minutes extra. Now

even though I've said a lot of good things

about the Switch Lite, it doesn't mean

it's the perfect device. There are a few

things I miss from the Switch original,

and detaching the Joy-Cons is actually one

of the things I miss. If I was with my

sister, or if I was bored and my wife

wanted to play with me, me, wanted to play

Mario Kart with me, all I had to do was

detach the Joy-Cons and then boom, we've

got 2 controllers, 2 people can play.

With the Switch Lite, you'd have to get a

second controller. There's also no stand

on the back of the Switch Lite, so if you

wanted to play with someone else, you'd

have to find some other way to prop it up

on a surface. One thing I used to like was

when I was on an aeroplane and I would

bring down the food tray in front of me

and and then prop my Switch— stand my

Switch original onto the tray and then use

my Pro Controller to play Mario Kart. It

did feel quite relaxing compared to just

holding the device, but to be honest,

it's not too different. But the problem

with that is if the person sitting in

front of you starts moving his chair

backwards and forwards, then your gameplay

gets disturbed. So here is a very handy

pros and cons list with the Switch

original on the left and Switch Lite on

the right. So we have pros: plays all

Switch titles by default. That's pretty

good. You want to be able to play all the

games, don't you? Can be used with

Nintendo Switch dock. That's also pretty

good if you like the dock. It has

removable Joy-Cons and rumble and IR

camera. I don't even know what that is.

Larger screen. Bigger is always better

unless you prefer something smaller. And

the new Switch version 2 has a longer

battery life. I don't even know what the

Switch version 2 is. Pros for the Switch

Lite are compact size, great for travel,

just like I explained earlier. It's less

expensive as well, like I explained

earlier. Longer battery life and has a

D-pad, all good things. Okay,

so let's have a look at the cons for the

Switch original. It is more expensive.

That's bad, especially when your YouTube

channel's dying and you're making less

money than you used to. It weighs more,

and there's no D-pad. So if you like the

D-pad, you might want to get the Switch

Lite. So for the cons of the Switch Lite,

we have separate accessories needed for

some games, can't be used with Nintendo

Switch dock, fewer features across the

board. And it has a smaller screen. Well,

those were some reasons why Switch Lite is

much better than the original in my
