My problem with The Anime Man

Hello and welcome to today's YouTuber

review. Today we'll be talking about The

Anime Man and why I don't really like him.

So as his channel name implies, he is The

Anime Man. He is a man who likes anime,

and he likes anime a little bit too much.

I also used to like anime when I was 14

years old. I used to love Sonic X, and I

used to run home from school just so I

could watch it. But I did this little

thing called growing up. It's when you get

older and then you're no longer interested

in things that you were interested in when

you were a teenager. But it seems as

though our dear friend Joey has not done

this thing that we call growing up, and he

managed to make an entire YouTube channel

with over 1,000 videos all about anime and

manga. And he's, what, 25 or 26?

He's at least nearly 30 years old

and he's still obsessed with anime and

manga. I just don't understand how it's

possible for a grown man to still be into

children cartoons. Now you might be

wondering, isn't it kind of random for me

to go for Joey? I mean, he doesn't have

anything to do with me. What history do we

have? Well, you may be surprised to know

that back in 2018 I made a very exposing

video on The Anime Man And he did not take

it very well. I'm going to have to

backtrack a bit here, and we're going to

have to talk about another YouTuber who

goes by the name of Chris Broad, also

known as Abroad in Japan. So Abroad in

Japan and Joey are friends because they're

both YouTubers and they're both living in

Japan, so it makes sense for them to be

friends. Well, I found out something very

interesting. Um, was it one year ago?

Yeah, I think it was one No, 2 years ago

actually, I found out I actually went to

the same school as Chris Broad. I won't

explain how because it's a bit of a long

story. Well, basically I was on Facebook

randomly messaging some people I used to

go to school with, and we started talking

about Chris, and it turns out that he was

in the year below me. I made a video about

how I went to the same school as Chris and

how I found out about it, and he messaged

me the very next day. He was not very

happy about me telling everyone which

school we went to and which village he

grew up in. It's kind of funny how someone

ignores you— well, they try their best to

ignore you for their whole lives— until

you make a video that they don't like and

they want you to take it down. And then

all of a sudden, they're in your DMs

acting all chummy chum chum. As you can

imagine, I was a bit starstruck because I,

I used to see Chris as this big famous

YouTuber, and I was pretty shocked and

surprised to find out that we went to the

same school together and we had mutual

friends. And we got to talking and

Joey popped up in our conversation. And

Chris told me that Joey the Anime Man may

have reached out to me if I hadn't have

made that video exposing him and saying

bad things about him. Now, in my defense,

the video was obviously a parody comedy

video, wasn't supposed to be taken

seriously, but it seems as though Joey did

take it seriously and his feelings were

hurt. And I have this sneaky feeling,

this little suspicion that Joey played a

part in why I never became big as a Japan

vlogger. I used to live in Japan for 2

years and I was an up-and-coming rising

J-vlogger. I overtook many of the, you

know, the old— older J-vloggers who

started way back 10 years ago. Overtook

those ones pretty easily. And I was on my

way to overtake a lot more J-vloggers.

But the thing is, you see, out of all of

the J-vloggers— and yes, I do include the

Anime Man as a J-vlogger because he's in

Japan and he makes YouTube videos. I don't

really care what kind of videos he makes.

If you're in Japan and you're a foreigner

and you live there and you make

Japan-related videos, in my eyes, you are

a J-vlogger. And out of all of the

J-vloggers, the Anime Man— I can't even

say his name— Anime Man has the most

subscribers. He has the largest channel

out of all of them. J-vloggers in the

J-vlogging community. He's— he is the

king. He is the leader. They all look up

to him and listen to what he says. And I'm

pretty sure when the top 5 J-vloggers all

got around the table and had a little

meeting, which they probably do, I'm

pretty sure they all agreed that they

should shut me out and, you know, stop my

channel from getting any bigger by not

collabing with me. If they liked me, they

could have collabed with me. My channel

would have grown and probably would have

overtaken most of those other ones like

Sharla. I have this sneaky feeling that

because I upset Joey with my comedy video,

which was obviously a parody, not supposed

to be taken seriously, he didn't get the

joke, or he wasn't able to take a joke,

and he probably doesn't like me and

decided to shut me out and decided to stop

any other J-vloggers from collabing with

me. And that's why my channel stopped

growing and I didn't make it big as a

J-vlogger. So thank you, Joey. So Chris

said to me, he said it's hard for him to

be friends with someone who, who makes

exposé videos on his other friends. And he

said he was thinking about reaching out to

me maybe a year ago or a couple years ago

when he found my YouTube channel, because

he did remember me from school, which is

funny because I don't remember him. And he

said it was difficult for him to publicly

or openly associate with me because

Because he's friends with Joey and I hurt

Joey's poor little feelings. I think you

can understand why I'm not really on good

terms with Joey and I don't really like

him. As a content creator, I don't really

like his content either. He's always

talking about anime or manga. It's like

he's, he's not interested in anything else

apart from those 2 topics. I mean, I don't

understand how you can be so obsessed with

just watching cartoons and make an entire

channel about it and talk about I just

feel like it's a little bit sad that a

grown man can talk about children cartoons

for such a long time. He even has this

podcast on a different channel where he

talks about anime for hours and hours and

hours. Is that all he ever talks about?

Maybe when he's off camera he talks about

other stuff, or maybe that's just all he

talks about and he's not interested in

anything else. Also follow him on Twitter

and the stuff he retweets is kind of

disturbing. Now, I like J-Girls as

much as every other guy does, but the

stuff he retweets is bordering on the

P-word. He's constantly retweeting these

really degenerate hentai kind of

images on his Twitter feed, and it's just

kind of strange because he's not single.

He has a girlfriend, that other YouTuber

AkiDearest, and I'm just wondering How

come Akidearest doesn't seem to be upset

with him obsessing over illustrated

J-girls all the time? I thought it'd be

kind of strange. Maybe it's normal if he

was single, but he's not a single guy.

It's also a bit funny that all of the

J-girls that he keeps retweeting on his

Twitter feed, they look absolutely nothing

like Akidearest, which is— it's kind of

funny because it makes you wonder If he

likes those kind of girls so much, why is

he with Aki dearest?
