why i returned my iPhone 15 Pro

So I have some news about my iPhone 15

Pro. I don't have it anymore. You might

notice that it's not in my hands. I'm not

using it to film this video. I'm using my

Flip Z4, which I realized I prefer my Flip

4Z a lot more than my iPhone 15 Pro.

Actually, I wasn't planning on returning

it because I didn't even know you could

return it, but then I found out that you

can return Apple products even if you've

opened it and used it if you return it

within 14 days. And since yesterday was my

13th day using the iPhone 15 Pro, and at

that point I didn't really feel like this

phone was blowing me away or was really

useful or had features that I found really

useful. The features were kind of bland

and boring and lacking in luster, and I

realized I actually prefer using my

Samsung Flip Z4 for making videos. I

filmed a few videos and I was originally

planning to make them on my iPhone 15 with

the, the better camera and the improved

video quality. But then I found myself

just preferring how the video looks like

on this phone, and it made me think,

well then what was the point of getting

the iPhone 15 Pro if I prefer using the

camera on this phone just because it looks

better? It doesn't have— okay, maybe it

doesn't look better in the sense that it's

more detailed, but things like the colors

and the vibrancy and the way it makes me

look— for some reason I never really liked

how iPhone cameras made me look. It's been

the same from, what, iPhone X, 11,

12, and now 15. I thought maybe the

cameras are going to change at some point,

maybe the hardware changes, but the

problem isn't the hardware, it's the

software and the way that Apple processes

images makes— well, it makes me— I don't

know about you, but it makes me look kind

of weird and ugly. Now, I don't think I'm

ugly. I might not have the best looking

clear skin. When I look in the mirror, I

think, okay, my skin's not super clear,

but it looks okay. It's fine. But then I

take a photo or selfie video using the

iPhone 15 Pro and it makes my skin look

really bad, like really ugly,

not very vibrant or very lively. It's just

kind of looks kind of dark and brown and

it makes me look like I've got some kind

of skin disease, which I'm not very happy

with. As a YouTuber who films himself,

I need to feel good when I make my videos

because if I don't feel good, then I won't

want to make videos. And that's not good.

If I don't want to make videos, I need to

want to make videos. So I need the camera

to make me feel good, even if it's not

like the most clearest camera in the

world. If it makes me look good, it makes

me look— makes me feel good as well. Then

that's better than having like a super

high quality, high detail camera like the

iPhone has that kind of makes me look ugly

and makes me feel crappy. I feel like

Apple and iPhone are making a really big

mistake. They're gonna lose potential

customers like me. I took my iPhone 15 Pro

back because the camera sucks, okay? It

looks great when you're taking photos of

things and objects, and it looks like

you're using a very nice camera, but then

when you flip it on yourself, it makes it—

for some reason, it makes people look

ugly. And they've lost me as a customer

now. I have been won by Samsung. I've

always loved Samsung cameras. They've got

a built-in beauty filter which smooths out

my And there's different levels, like 9

different levels, and I can choose if I

want to completely wax out my face so

there's no features or detail left at all,

or just put like a bit of minimal

smoothing so I look a bit more

presentable. I don't want to have to wear

makeup just to make a stupid YouTube

video. So obviously I like things like

Skin Filter because I don't look like a

freaking model for a magazine or

something. I'm not going to go out and get

surgery or stupid procedures like teeth

whitening just so I can make a stupid

YouTube video. So yeah, obviously I like

the filters that are built into Samsung's

camera. And it's not just the filters. I

don't know what else Samsung does compared

to Apple, but the, the photos and the

videos you take of yourself using Samsung

cameras just look much more flattering.

And that's something iPhone doesn't know

how to do, and for some reason they don't

seem to care about knowing how to do it.

And it's silly because Apple always brags

about their stupid portrait mode and how

Apple iPhone cameras are the best cameras

to take portrait photos. And every time

they do a presentation, they've always got

like some woman who's a model and they're

taking portrait photos of her and they're

showing off how the portrait lens in

iPhone looks like a professional portrait

photography lens and setup. Sure, it'll

look— make you look great if you're a

model and you've got perfect lighting and

everything, but when you just like average

Jimbo Jones like me who doesn't look that

amazing, then it's gonna make me look

crap. I don't want to look crap, and I

don't want to feel like I'm looking crap.

So I don't want to use the stupid iPhone

video photo selfie mode ever.

So then I had to make the decision to

return it, because without the cameras,

what do you even have as an upgrade from

iPhone 12? Oh, you got Action Button. In

the 2 weeks I used the iPhone 15 Pro, I

never used the Action Button. Number one,

it's in a stupid place. It's way too high

up and it's on the wrong side. It should

be on the right side where my right thumb

is, so when I'm holding the phone

normally, I can easily click it. And it

should be way lower down, like halfway up

the phone, so I can easily click it with

my right thumb, not all the way at the top

of the phone. And you need to be able to

click it so it does the action, not hold

it down. I don't know why you need to hold

it down. And then I couldn't even find

anything I wanted to assign to the Action

Button anyway. I tried a bunch of apps

like, like Discord and YouTube Studio

Analytics. I tried different apps I use a

lot, but I didn't really care that much

about being able to open an app just by

pressing a button. So I just set it to the

camera and, and I didn't really use it

much because I haven't been anywhere since

I bought the iPhone, which I'm a bit

disappointed that. Never really got to

test out the cinematic mode or the true

video capabilities of the phone by going

out somewhere nice, but haven't really had

the time to go out anywhere nice. And then

I got really sick since last Thursday,

and I'm still kind of sick, so I haven't

had the time or energy to go out anywhere.

So I was sitting there with my iPhone 15

Pro yesterday thinking, should I sell it?

Should I keep it? I kind of wanted to keep

it because it is a nice looking phone and

it felt premium and very nice to hold in

the hand, but I couldn't justify the cost.

It costs over £1,000, and I'd rather just

have the money back instead of having like

a fancy phone that I don't even like the

cameras of because it makes me look

stupid. So what am I going to use it for?

The USB-C charging? I already got an

Android phone which has USB-C charging. I

don't really care about USB-C charging.

Oh, it's made out of titanium? I don't— I

couldn't even tell if it was made out of

titanium. How are you supposed to know? I

don't really care. It's just metal. Metal

is made out of metal. I mean, how are you

supposed to get excited over the material

that they made the phone out of? As long

as it doesn't break or shatter or break

easily, then it's fine. I don't really

care if it's made out of titanium or steel

or aluminum or copper,

gold— make it out of gold or steel, I

don't care what it's made out of. So

titanium, USB-C, don't care. Uh, the

cameras, don't care. 3-nanometer chip,

don't care. Okay, it's fast, but it's not

really that much faster than my phones I

use now. What else can it do?

Action button, don't care. So it's like,

don't care, don't care, don't care, don't

care about any of its new features. And

it's really expensive, and I'd rather just

have the money back. So I had to make the

decision to take it back to the Apple

Store, and I was quite happy that they

would give me a full refund even though I

played around with it for 2 weeks. I was

surprised they would give me any money

back at all. I thought they would say,

okay, you've opened the box and you used

it, we'll give you 50% of the value. And I

might have said, okay, I'll take it. The

only thing I've learned from this

experience is that after using the iPhone

15 Pro, it's just made me realize that I

like my Samsung phones a lot better. I'm

gonna stick with this Flip 4Z for a while,

I think, and then maybe my next phone is

going to be a Samsung S25 or 26 in years'

time. This phone is completely fine. I

think it's great. The cameras look great.

Okay, there's no zoom lens, which is going

to be a bit annoying because I was looking

forward to having a zoom lens so I could

do my vlogs. But I don't really care that

much about vlogging anymore or zooming.

Digital zoom will have to do. And it is

kind of cool, you can fold this phone in

half and flip it and prop it up.

When you flip it, you can turn into like a

self-made selfie stick so you can like

prop it up on things. So I feel like the

Flip 4Z is a much more interesting phone

with better cameras and has the

flexibility of Android, and it's got USB-C

if you want to plug it into a computer.

Also, you know, USB-C,

I still think it's better on Android

because when you plug in the iPhone to

transfer photos and videos, it has the

iPhone folder, which is great and

everything, but then all of the photos are

separated into individual folders based on

the day instead of having all the photos

just being in one folder like it is on

Android. So it's really hard to find the

photo you're looking for because you have

to go into each individual folder one by

one if you don't remember which day you

took the photo, and then go into each

folder and then take what you want out of

it. Whereas when you plug in an Android

phone, it just says DCIM, and then you

click on that, and then it's got

everything in there, all your photos and

videos that you've ever taken, all in one

place. It's not separated into individual

folders like the iPhone one is. So I don't

like that. And yeah, it made

me realize I just like, really like my

Flip 4Z a lot more. So I'm not really that

sad about saying goodbye to the iPhone 15

Pro. I guess I'm a bit surprised because I

honestly wasn't planning to return it,

but then when I found out you can return

it, I thought, yeah, maybe I'll just

return it. It's kind of boring anyway. It

doesn't really do anything interesting.
