[2020-09-30] I got BANNED on AirBnb [ceH8llttGW0]

I woke up today and I got an email from

Airbnb. Guess what they had to say? They

actually banned me. They just sent me an

email saying that I can no longer use the

services, my account has been disabled,

and they didn't even give me a reason why

I got banned, even though I I've been a

very loyal customer of Airbnb for many

years now. I've spent so much money on

Airbnb, you would have thought that they

wouldn't just ban me like that without

giving me any kind of explanation. So this

is the email they sent to me. It says, hi

Daniel, after a routine review of your

Airbnb account, we regret to inform you

that we were— we are no longer able to

support your accounts due to a violation

of our terms of service. And they didn't

even tell me what terms of service I

violated. I don't know what I did wrong.

And then they say I can review our terms

of service at airbnb.com/terms.

Why would I care about reviewing the terms

of service after you've banned me? I can't

even use your service anymore. Why would I

care about your terms now after I've been

banned? It just doesn't make any sense.

Maybe if they gave me a warning first

before banning me, and if I carried on

violating the terms of service and then

they banned me, it would have been fair.

But this is just so unfair because they

didn't even give me a warning, and then

they just said, sorry, your account has

been closed. And then they say reservation

blah blah blah has been cancelled for full

refund and all parties have been notified.

That's because I tried booking a different

place that I was supposed to be going to

after my capsule hotel.

After I leave the capsule hotel, I need to

find a new place, and I was hoping to

find— to move into a place on Airbnb, and

I booked a place, and now they've refunded

me. So yeah, I got the refund.

This reservation will not be reinstated

per our terms of service. Airbnb reserves

the right to make the final determination

with respect to such matters. This

decision will not be reversed. So I don't

even have the option to appeal the ban. I

can't even ask them why I got banned. I

can't even challenge their decision. They

just say we have the rights to make this

decision, there'll be no reversal, so

screw you. There's no way I can contact

them. Well, I guess I could use this link

and say, hey Michael, how come you banned

me for no reason? It's just a little bit

frustrating because, as you know, I use

Airbnb quite a lot. That's where I get the

majority of my apartments that I stay in

when I go traveling. And I know Airbnb is

not the only option. I could use all of

these other apps to find places that I

could stay in, but it just means that

I've— my My choices are now a

lot more limited than they used to be,

and I've lost a way of finding cheap

apartments, which is kind of irritating.

I guess I could try making a new account,

but I don't think it's going to work

because you need to provide them with your

ID to verify your payment option

or something, and if they check my ID,

it's going to say my real name, and my

real name has probably been blacklisted

now. So I can make a new account, but I

can't pay for anything because as soon as

I try to verify my ID, they're going

to know it's me. It's a bit shocking

because I don't actually think I did

anything wrong in any of the Airbnbs I

stayed at. I always tidied up, I never

damaged anything, I never took anything.

I always did my best to leave the Airbnb

in the same way that I entered it, and And

they just banned me just like that,

without any warning, without any

notification that I might be doing

something wrong. Didn't even

give me a chance to change my actions,

and now I can't even use it anymore.

I don't know if I really care that much.

I was starting to get a bit annoyed with

Airbnb because it's the only booking app

where you as a customer gets

judged and criticized by the owners. It's

kind of stupid. For example, for example,

if you don't tidy up the place,

sometimes you can get a negative review

from the owner complaining about you being

untidy when they're charging you for a

cleaning fee. If I'm paying for the

cleaning fee, then it shouldn't be my duty

to clean up the place. If you want me to

clean up and be tidy, then don't charge me

for a cleaning fee. So you're a paying

customer and the stupid hosts of the

Airbnbs have the nerve to complain about

you. It just really pissed me off, and

it's one of the reasons why I was starting

to get a bit angry with Airbnb, and I was

starting to look at different apps to find

accommodation. I guess it's a good thing

because Airbnb is so expensive compared to

actual rental prices that people pay for

apartments, and If I want to stay here in

the Netherlands for a long time,

using Airbnb is a really bad idea. I

should really try to get myself a proper

apartment sorted out.

And now I don't have Airbnb, maybe that'll

finally motivate me to just get a normal

apartment and not pay these ridiculous

amounts of money for apartments.

I just really need to get myself an

apartment sorted out because although

living in the capsule hotel is a weird

experience, it's not very comfortable,

it's not very private. You hear a lot of

noise from the surrounding capsules,

and you can't do any cooking because you

don't have any cooking stuff. So I have to

keep going outside to buy food, which is a

bit annoying. Also, making videos is kind

of tricky. Maybe I could ask someone to

use their Airbnb account and then book me

a place for me, and then I pay them. But I

don't know if anyone would want to risk

their account getting banned as well. I

guess it's not really a big loss. It's not

like my Airbnb video tours did

really, really well for views,

but it was nice being able to book weird

places like the boat Airbnb,

and they have some weird Airbnbs like

treehouse Airbnbs that I won't be able to

book now. I just feel really disappointed

as a travel vlogger.

Um, not being able to use Airbnb anymore

could be a bit of a problem. Well,

I don't think I really found much success

as a travel vlogger anyway, so maybe it

doesn't really matter. This is my 3rd day

in the capsule hotel. If you didn't watch

my capsule hotel video, I guess I'll give

you a quick tour of my new place.

So this is the bed, this is

the entrance, this is my table,

that's my clothing,

that is me.

So this is where I sleep, and that's where

I put my stuff. This is where I put my

shoes, and this is my washing,

washing products. I've got face wash,

shampoo, Which I don't need

because they provide you with shampoo in

the showers. The showers are very nice.

This is my lunch, and I've got some coffee

in a bottle.

Yeah, it's, um, quite a nice little

humble abode. My toothbrush, face mask.

You've got space to stand up and walk

around if you would like to.

So as I just demonstrated, you can change

the lights to any color you want to.

You can have it red, blue, yellow, any

kind of color. Um, you can change it,

which is pretty fun. And there's quite a

lot of space in the bed. If you saw me

crawl in, I'm not a very small guy, but

I'm not a huge guy, and it's perfectly

spacious. And then you've got a little

light switch here,

turns on the light.

Um, yeah, I do feel quite comfortable.

In the capsule hotel. You've got a lot of

storage to hang your clothing— hangers,

hooks. I hook my jeans like this.

Oh, it smells like coffee.

Okay, I got

some water, but it's a bit brown.

I kept rinsing it out. I rinsed it out

about 20 times, but it was still brown.
