Hello, welcome back to my new apartment.

So for obvious reasons, I'm gonna have to

pixelate this video, but I wanted to give

you a quick tour of my new apartment.

It's very nice and very fancy. So a quick

explanation, I was living in this kind of

serviced apartment for the last month with

my girlfriend, and it was kind of

expensive. It was a nice place apart from

a few problems the apartments. Like,

sinks were blocking up and the floor was

leaking from the other rooms. But apart

from that, it was an okay place. But it

was like 20,000 baht, which is nearly

£500, and that's a very expensive price to

pay for that kind of apartment in

Thailand. And I was happy to pay for

another 20,000 for this month and 20,000

for next month, which would make a total

of 40,000 baht. But my girlfriend had a

better idea to move us into this apartment

which is way bigger and actually is almost

half the price that I was paying in the

previous apartment. So I thought, okay,

we'll just do it her way and we'll move

into this new place. And this place cost

me ¥30,000 for the first payment because

it's 2 months in addition to the first

month of rent, and then the next month

will be about ¥10,000. So in total is

actually the same ¥40,000 that I was going

to pay anyway. But if you're going to live

here for over a year, then obviously it's

going to work out cheaper. The problem is

I don't know if I'm gonna be here for a

whole year. I don't think I can because I

don't know what kind of visa I can get. I

could get either a student visa or a Thai

Elite visa, which is very expensive, and I

could afford it, but I don't really want

to spend that much money. I don't really

know what's going to happen after a few

months. I think we're going to go

traveling to another country, and then I'm

going to try come back to Thailand and

then come back in without a visa, which

you can do. You can only stay for like a

month or 45 days without a visa. That's

the plan so far. But anyway, I want to

show you my new apartment very quickly.

So this apartment is way better because

it's got an entire bedroom and it's got a

really nice view, which I'm not going to

show you because I don't want to dox

myself. And then it's got this huge living

room with a sofa, a little table for my

computer, my laptop where I do my

streaming and gaming and stuff. And it's

got this TV here, which is not that big,

but it's big enough. And then you've got

this separate kitchen, which is the best

part of it. So the most annoying thing

about the kitchen in the previous place

was it only had a tiny little counter with

a stove and a sink on it. There wasn't

actually any space for doing any cooking,

like chopping or placing stuff on,

because there was no counter space. So I

had to put the stuff on the bed or on the

sofa to make room. That was really

annoying. But this kitchen actually has

counter space and it's got cupboards,

and it doesn't have a stove built in, so

we had to plug in like an electric stove,

induction stove thing, which is actually

pretty good. It heats up in like 2

seconds. And there's a sink,

came with a microwave, it's got lots of

shelving and cupboard space, so it's

pretty good. So the way we're doing it is

instead of me signing a contract and using

my name to sign up for this apartment,

which would be very risky. The previous

apartments that we nearly moved into, I

decided to last minute change my mind and

cancel because they wanted me to join this

group, this message group with my

girlfriend, and then post a picture of my

visa and passport, which would obviously

expose my actual name. So the way we did

it was, well, first of all, they wouldn't

even rent this place to me anyway, even if

I wanted to, because who's going to rent a

place like this for a year to a foreigner

who doesn't even have a visa for a year.

So I don't think they would even rent this

place to me. They rented it to my

girlfriend because obviously she's a Thai

woman and she can get cheaper prices. And

she has signed up with her own name with

the contracts, so she's technically paying

for the apartment, but I'm giving her cash

to pay with, so she's not actually paying

for anything. I'm paying for it through

her, which I think is a much better way of

doing it. I don't know why we didn't think

doing this earlier. So this means that

we're gonna be— or she's gonna be here at

least for a year, and then I can just go

out of Thailand, come back to Thailand

however or whenever I want to, how many

times I want to, and then just come back

here where she'll be and we'll have a

place to live instead of having to stay in

expensive hotels all the time or having to

go back to her house, which is kind of,

kind of like a bad place for us right now

after everything that happened earlier.

In October, or was it November? No, it was

in October. Such a long time ago now.

It's over a month ago. Wow, time really

flies. I can't believe how big this place

is and how, how cheap it is. So it's only

about £250 or $300.

It's about 10,000 or 11,000 baht, and

electricity is added on top, but usually

my electricity is probably only about 30

or 40 pounds, not really expensive. And

this place is huge compared to the place I

had in Manchester. I think this place is

at least triple or maybe even 4 times the

size as the place in Manchester. And the

place in Manchester cost me, I think,

£890 for rent, and then electricity

and water and internet on top of that was

about £100. So I was paying like £1,000 a

month for that tiny, horrible little

apartment in Beetham Tower in Manchester,

and it was such a bad place to live in. I

hated that place. This place is huge in

comparison. I can't believe Thai people

have life so good where they can live in

such a nice place for such a low price.

And not only is the room really big and

nice and modern looking, it also has a

swimming pool, a huge swimming pool in the

same building. And on the lower floor,

there's like all these There's like this

shopping complex below the apartments,

and then there's all this gym stuff. I

went to the gym a couple days ago, did

some weightlifting. They've got all these

really fancy machines like, uh, weights—

weights machines where you lift up like a

bar and you can add weights to it. And

they've got cycling machines and

treadmills, so you can have a good

exercise, get all sweaty and hot, and then

jump into the swimming pool And it's

really nice. I can't believe it's like a

thing here in Thailand is nearly every

single apartment building or block has a

swimming pool and a gym. I've never seen

this in any other country. In Japan, they

just had like tiny apartments with only

apartment rooms. There was no reception or

concierge or gym or swimming pool. I never

saw an apartment building in Japan that

had a swimming pool. So it's pretty nice.

It's like living in a hotel building. But

it has— doesn't have hotel prices. It's

got apartment prices, which are

reasonable. The only problem is there's no

washing machine. The guy is coming today

to fit it, so I've got to get ready

mentally to let someone in and put this

washing machine in, which is going to go

there. And someone has to fix that light

bulb because it's not working, and there's

no Wi-Fi because you've got to pay for

that separately. But I've got my SIM

cards. I've got 4 SIM cards which are good

enough, got good enough connection here.

One of them can get 5G, but the other ones

only get about 4G up here because we're

pretty high up. And I think I'm fine

without having an actual wired Wi-Fi.

So yeah, life in Thailand's pretty good.

I reckon I could pay for nearly all of the

rent just with my Twitch income. I'm

making about $200 now on Twitch a month

just from streaming some video games. And

if the rent is only $300, I mean, I'm only

$100 away from being able to pay off the

entire rent purely from playing video

games on Twitch, which has always been

something I never thought I could do.

It's always been like a, a dream. I always

thought, oh, I wish I could make money

playing video games, but I thought I'm not

interesting enough, I'm not funny enough.

But it seems like you can actually make a

decent amount of side income, pocket

change maybe you can call it that, on

Twitch with just a very small audience.

So if you want to follow me on Twitch,

I'll be playing a lot of video games on

there. Seems like video games are the way

to go if you want to get views these days

since my main channel is not doing as

great as it used to. Even my second

channel, which is purely focused on

gaming, has actually overtaken my main

channel now in terms of views and income,

which I don't know how to feel about that.

I guess it's good news but also sad news

at the same time. Anyway, um,

yeah, so I think I could have a pretty

good life in Thailand. I'm actually

thinking seriously of just moving here

and getting the Thai Elite Visa because

although it's a lot of money up front,

spread out over 5 years,

maybe £13,000 or £14,000 isn't

a huge amount of money spread out over 5

years. I mean, over 5 years I'm going to

make back probably like £50,000, and if

I'm only having to pay like $300 a month

for living here in an apartment like this,

I'm going to be able to save so much money

without having to keep leaving the country

and buying plane tickets and flying back

in, flying back out, flying back in,

flying back out. That's going to be kind

of expensive, isn't it? And I thought it'd

be pretty cool to have a home base in

Thailand instead of having to go all the

way back to England every time I need

somewhere else to go. It'd be nice if I

had a home base in Thailand and then I

could make short trips maybe to Japan or

Korea in case I get bored. Now, 5 years is

pretty long to commit to living in a

country. I don't really know if I would

even stick to the plan of living here for

5 years, but I don't really see any other

option that's better than this option that

could be a possibility. It seems like a

decent an idea. I'm not sure. Let me know

what you think about getting the Thai

Elite Visa and being able to live in

Thailand for like 5 years straight.
