So it's been about a week now since I

moved into my new house and I'm feeling

very settled.

I've created my man cave and I've got

furniture, I've got a sofa, I've got a

bed, got a lot of things that make the

place a lot cozier.

And I thought I'd just talk about cost of

living in my new house and then later do

kind of like a house tour showing you how

I've decorated the rooms and what I've

done with the place.

Basically, I'm paying £900 a month for

rent.

I'm paying about £112 a month for council

tax.

I'm paying about £25 a month for internet.

Net.

And electricity, I'm not sure, but I think

it's going to be about £150.

So I guess you could say it's roughly

about £1,200 with bills included.

And then on top of that, I've also got to

pay for my car payments, food, and then

other monthly payments I have on my Amazon

accounts because I bought stuff on

finance.

And yeah, so it's going to be kind of

expensive to set up my life here, but I

feel fairly confident that if I do some

part-time work in combination with my

YouTube, I should be able to pay for all

this.

Okay, so first of all, we this small room

which I've decided to use as my office

with my computer.

Got my monitor here and my desk and my

computer, my gaming chair, mirror, and

I've got some weights to do some exercise.

And I chose this room as my main room

because it's smaller, easier to heat, it's

got carpet, and it's got a really nice

view

out of this window.

Got a really nice view

As you can see,

really nice view of the countryside.

And, um, yeah, I might put another little

table in the corner there just so I've got

more space.

But yeah, it's quite nice and cozy, and I

put in this light bulb.

You can change the colors, so that's nice.

And then we come into the hallway.

Oh yeah, it's also good because I can

close the door, which means I can heat up

the room, and then once the room's heated

up, I just close the door, trap the heat

in, and then I turn the heater off.

So don't need to have the heater on all

the time, just gotta make sure you always

keep this door closed.

And we come into the hallway, and this is

my bedroom, and I've got this new

IKEA bed which I set up a few streams ago.

And it's got a nice wooden simple look,

kind of Japanese-y as well if you look at

these bits.

So let's go like this very flat straight

wood design, which I think does look very

Japanese-y.

And I've got this bedside table,

put this bedside table here, and it

matches the bed.

It's the Malm set from IKEA.

Put my clothing in it.

So I have a second one over here

in the corner, and I was thinking of

returning it because there's actually no

room for a second one, but I might be able

to put it in that corner or maybe that

corner and then use that as a clothing

storage solution.

That's my backpack.

So that's bed, and I got this mattress

from IKEA and I got the fluffy bed sheets

from Tesco.

And, um, this is the bathroom.

A bit boring, not really much you can do

here.

Put down a rug.

Uh, yeah, you gotta keep the window open

when you have a shower to let the steam

out because there's no fan.

Got a sink, got my towels.

And then we go downstairs.

We go downstairs, got this stag mirror

thing.

It's not really a mirror, it's like tin

foil stuck to the wall.

Yeah, you've got a staircase, got this

curtain,

and then we go into this bit.

Kitchen.

Got all my stuff in here.

Got my kettle, frying pan, kitchen stuff,

my fridge.

Washing machine's supposed to go there

actually because the pipes would connect

under the sink and then the fridge would

go here, but I don't have a washing

machine yet and my bin is too small.

I need to get a bigger bin.

Uh, yeah, decent-sized kitchen.

Good enough, I guess.

And then we've got my tatami mat, which

I'm sending back, although maybe I could

keep it.

I don't really know where I'd put it, to

be honest.

Maybe I'll put it in the conservatory.

Yeah, this is the living room.

So I just recently got my sofa today.

Sofa looks pretty nice, actually.

Yeah.

It's a little bit hard, but I think it

will soften up once you use it for a bit.

I think it looks quite nice, the grey on

grey rug.

And under the rug, I actually got this.

I got this, um,

I got this foam material.

Spongy.

It's actually for carpets.

It's carpet underlay, but you can put it

under a rug because this rug's kind of

thin.

So I put it under there and that just

makes the floor softer and also warmer.

And then you've got the sofa here, got

some pillows.

I've got my IKEA coffee table over there.

So eventually the plan would be I would

like to get a TV, 65-inch.

I think 65-inch would fit in that corner

perfectly, but money's a bit tight right

now.

So for now I'm just going to bring my

computer monitor down and put it there,

and then I'll probably drag the table

closer to the sofa, and then we can sit—

we can sit in the corner part.

Oh man, I don't know what's wrong with my

leg, it's like spasming.

So we can sit in the corner part like

this,

like that, and then we can watch movies

with the big curved monitor.

It is going to be a bit annoying having to

drag that thing down every time,

but if it means I can save £400, £500,

then Might as well.

I've got this plug thing,

not sure really if I need that at the

moment, but I might need it later.

I've got these curtains,

thermal curtains, again to trap the heat

because this conservatory is gonna leach

the heat out.

It's double glazing, so it's not too bad,

but it's still glass and it's not very

good for keeping heat in.

So this is conservatory.

There is a fireplace.

It's not real, it's an electric fan

fireplace.

I put it out here because I don't really

know if I need it because I've got those

wall radiators and they might be enough.

But if I need extra heating, then yeah, I

could bring that back in.

But yeah, I've got— I mean, I've got quite

a nice-sized conservatory.

When the weather gets warmer, it'll be

nice to hang out in here.

I think maybe you can get like a bean bag

and then put something along the sides

like plants.

I'm not really sure yet.

I don't really have plans for it.

And that's my garden.

It's just gravel and a stone patio

with views into the field.

Um, I could put the tatami mat in here if

you really want to use it, but I'd rather

refund it and get my money back, to be

honest.

And then I got this, um, pole.

It just tightens on.

It's not attached or anything.

It's a tension rod.

So I was gonna get a curtain to hang from

it because there's no door in this doorway

which lets heat out.

So the goal is you want to build up heat

in this room to make it cozy, turn off the

heaters because you don't want them on all

the time, but all the heat just goes out

of here.

So I got this curtain, but it was too

small.

It was 50 inch by 50 inch, and I wasn't

really paying attention, and it was just a

square shape.

So obviously if I put it there, half of it

is not covering the door, so I had to

return it, and I've got a new one coming.

This time I measured it properly.

I think it's 80— 90 inches long, which is

a bit longer than what the door is, but

that's fine.

So yeah, that should keep things a bit

warmer.

What else?

Got these rugs because it's really cold to

stand on the floor, but I've got these

slippers now.

So I don't really have that problem.

Walking around without any slippers was

freezing.

All your body heat just gets leeched out

into the cold floor, so you really need

slippers or rugs or carpets.

Got that foot warmer as well.

So yeah, that's my house for now.

It does sound less echoey.

Echo.

It's still a little bit echoey, but

nowhere near as echoey as it was when I

first moved in.

I just need more furniture really to

absorb the sound.

I'm thinking you can get like a little

corner

shelving rack thing, like a— I don't know

what it's called— like shelves,

bookshelves.

Put like bookshelf here.

Um, what else?

I don't really know what else you can get.

Main thing I want is the TV to put there,

but that's not super important.

Apart from that, I think— I feel like

It's good enough for the living room, but

the thing is I'm not really going to spend

a lot of time in the living room because I

have my computer set up upstairs.

I did have it set up in the corner here,

and maybe I'll move it back down here.

It was just really cold, so I decided to

move it upstairs, and also it felt a

little bit claustrophobic in the way that

there's no view.

So obviously there's no window there

because that's the neighbor's side, And

there's no window here because it's just a

wall, so the only windows are out here,

but then you can't really see much from

here.

And then that's the front of the house and

you just got the front door, so you can't

really see anything out there either.

It has been quite time-consuming moving

stuff around, moving the computer upstairs

and moving it back and then moving it

there, then moving it back up, just trying

to figure out the best way to enjoy the

space.

Now I've got the sofa

I don't know, I'm just kind of rethinking

things now.

Like, I wouldn't mind just hanging out

here, got more space, but the problem with

that is it's harder to heat up a bigger

space and keep it warm without blowing a

lot of money on electricity, which I don't

really want to do because I'm trying to

keep costs down.

But anyway, that's my house.

It's a week— been a week since I got here.

There's bits of Sellotape stuck to my rug.

Yeah, it's been a week now.

Definitely feel like things have improved

a lot.

Yeah, see how, how cozy we can make this,

how comfortable, and how long it takes

before it starts feeling like it's

actually my home instead of just some

building I'm squatting in.
