How my viewers RUINED my marriage

Hello and welcome back to a new video. So

today I want to talk about how my marriage

was ruined by my YouTube viewers.

Now you might be thinking, hey Daniel,

that's not very nice of you to blame your

viewers for your marriage falling apart.

And yeah, I guess that is kind of true,

and I don't 100% blame the viewers for the

downfall of my marriage. I guess it's fair

to take some of the blame. I think I would

give myself about 35% of the blame

for the marriage failing, and then 35%

would be the viewers' fault, and then the

remaining 30% would be my ex-wife's fault,

because I really don't think she's 100%

blameless in this whole situation.

So you might be wondering, why do I blame

my viewers for my marriage going down the

toilet? Well, as you may know, one of the

reasons that the marriage fell apart and

didn't really work was because I cheated.

And the reason why I cheated was because

at the time my YouTube channel was just

blowing up and I was really famous and my

popularity was soaring and I was getting

all of this attention, female attention,

which I have never been used to getting

lots and lots of female attention. As you

may have noticed, I'm not exactly the best

looking guy in the room and I'm not

exactly the most charismatic or confident.

Person. And when I was in school, back in

my school days, I was never very popular

with the ladies. In fact, I was pretty

invisible to the ladies. The ladies didn't

even acknowledge my existence. I was just

like this non-existence of a person,

and I didn't really experience any kind of

female attention until my YouTube channel

started to blow up back in 2018.

Now, as someone who had never really

experienced much female attention in his

life and his early teens and 20s,

this was a completely brand new experience

to me. And yes, I have to admit, it did

kind of go to my head and it inflated my

ego quite a lot. All of a sudden, I had

all of these young, cute girls messaging

me and flirting with me and showing

interest in me. And unfortunately, I was

not available. I had gotten married. And

even though I tried to resist the

temptation, my bodily urges and my

man drive just kind of took over and I

couldn't resist all of these young girls

throwing themselves at me. And that did

lead to a few cheating situations and

incidents, which I tried my very best to

keep a secret. But the cat ended up

escaping from the bag and, well, you know

what happened. It was a bit of a mess.

And I got caught cheating not just once,

not just twice, but multiple times.

And yeah, I kind of blame these female

viewers for messaging me in the first

place. I was a married man. That was very

clear and public, and everyone knew that I

was married and I had a wife. But this

didn't stop all of these girls. There was

probably nearly 50 of them at the most.

It didn't stop any of these girls from

messaging me. And trying to seduce me and

sending me their pictures, even though I

never asked for the pictures. I never made

a video saying, hey, young girls, please

send me pictures. They just sent them to

me voluntarily. They didn't care that I

was married. They didn't care that if our

messages were found out, it would hurt

someone's feelings. They didn't care if my

marriage got wrecked because of what they

were sending to me. And some of them even

wanted to meet up with me. In secret, and

I did meet up with some in secret. Well,

it didn't remain a secret for very long.

And these girls, they didn't even care

about Chihiro's feelings or whether my

marriage would survive. It was just very

selfish of them, I think. And I think it

represents a major flaw and problem in

today's society where everyone's just kind

of selfish. They see a girl or a guy they

like, they'll just try and take them.

Take them whether they're single or not or

married. They don't really care. To them,

it's just, you know, everything's up for

grabs. Now, the other reason why I blame

the viewers for my marriage falling apart

is not just the female viewers sending me

messages and trying to seduce me, but also

the viewers in general. The majority of

the viewers were only watching because of

the drama. The marriage drama, the

fighting, the conflicts and arguments

between me and my ex-wife were the main

reason why most of the people were

watching my channel. And this was very

true. And I realized this at an early

point. Whenever I tried to do non-drama

videos, whenever I tried to talk about

something I was interested in or just some

kind of neutral topic video that wasn't

about drama or arguing with my wife, The

views were just pants. They were just

rubbish. And the only way I could get

decent views was to carry on causing

problems with my wife and arguing and

getting kicked out and cheating and, you

know, just not really being a very nice

husband. Whenever I tried

to be a good husband and I tried to make

positive content like going out on a

cruise trip, climbing up some mountain in

Kyoto, you know, doing kind of Japan

travel vlog videos with my ex-wife, the

views were just pants compared to the

drama videos. So I kind of had this

negative feedback loop in my mind where my

brain was thinking, if I do positive

things and good, nice things, that results

in bad views. But if I do mean things and

horrible things, and I make her upset and

I cause arguments and I cause conflict,

that results in more views and more money.

So the YouTube algorithm and the viewers

were rewarding me for negative behavior,

which would result in more views. And when

I saw the views go up and I saw the money

going up, my brain released chemicals,

dopamine and stuff like that, into my

body. And it felt really, really good. So

obviously I felt encouraged to make more

problematic drama videos instead of

focusing on, you know, wholesome videos,

daily life videos, travel stuff. I just

thought, why don't I just make more drama,

make her more upset, walk out on her,

leave her, and do more cheating stuff?

Because that's the way to get views.

And when I tried to stop doing this

negative and toxic kind of content,

Instead of people saying, well done,

Daniel, well done for stepping in the

right direction, we'll support you by

continuing to watch your non-toxic videos.

What happens? Well, the views just went

straight down the toilet. And here

we are today. You look at the views now

without any drama or toxic content. You

might say, well done, Daniel. Here's a pat

on the back, but we're not going to watch

anymore because it's boring. You know,

maybe if more people watched my wholesome

videos, like my travel videos and my day

in life, day in the life in Japan videos

instead of all the drama and fighting

ones, maybe I would be more encouraged to

make wholesome videos and not toxic ones.

And then maybe I wouldn't have upset so

many people because I wanted to get views.

But no, you encouraged all of the toxic

content. And you just complained about me

being toxic. And then when I stopped being

toxic, instead of rewarding me for good

behavior, I get punished, don't I? I get

punished because now my channel is dead

and I don't really make much money off the

channel anymore. And so

all of the people who only watched because

of the drama and the toxic content and who

are always complaining all the time about

how much of a horrible person I am And now

that you don't watch the channel anymore

because I stopped doing the things you

complained about, well, my message to you,

although it's pretty pointless to give a

message to you since you're not even

watching anymore, my message to you would

be, you all suck. Hope you're happy that

you ruined my marriage. Hope you're happy

that you upset Chihiro and the Hong Kong

guy. And thanks for ruining my life.

I would have been more than happy to make

non-toxic and non-drama content if you

just had watched it. If you just watched

the stuff like, uh, dinner with Chihiro,

or my wife makes me dinner, or going on

the cruise trip. If you watch that stuff

instead of the I cheated and I got kicked

out and I had another argument. If that

stuff didn't get views, then I wouldn't

have made them and I wouldn't have caused

all of these problems with her. And we

could have saved a lot of shed tears. And

then you say stuff like, oh, if it's not

drama, then it's boring. No one wants to

watch you eat food and do boring daily

stuff. Yeah, well then how come channels

like Rachel and Jun where all they do is

boring daily stuff gets millions of views?

How come channels like Ben Deen where he

just eats food and gets hundreds of

thousands of views? How come that content

is not boring for their audiences? How

come the people sub to those channels love

that kind of stuff? But the people subbed

to me just didn't care less about it. Why

couldn't I have Ben Dean's audience or

Rachel and Jun's audience? Why do I have

to be stuck with this drama-hungry toxic

audience that just wants toxic content and

then complains about how the toxic content

is toxic and how toxic I am? And then when

I stop being toxic, they don't watch

anymore. Useless. Just, ugh, the worst

possible type of viewer any YouTuber could

possibly have.
