Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 - 6 TIPS, TRICKS! (Hidden Features)

Hello, welcome back to a new video.

So today we're going to be looking at more

tips and tricks for the Samsung Z Fold 6,

starting off with the screen recorder.

Did you know there's quite a lot of

settings you can change on the screen

recorder ability thing?

And you can actually have like a little

selfie video pop-up whilst you're

recording your screen.

So if you go to the screen recorder, start

recording the screen, at the top right

you'll see this little pop-up menu and

you've got a few things like you've got

this cursor thing when you use the S Pen.

So when you get the S Pen, you've got this

little arrow thing that hovers around

where you're pointing the S Pen on the

screen and you can see what you're

pointing at.

And also you've got this selfie camera.

So if you press the selfie camera, you'll

get a little circle where you can move it

around and you can see yourself recorded

in the front-facing camera that's on the

main display.

And you can move this little circle around

and you can use that so you can show

people your screen and your face at the

same time if that's what you wanted to do.

Okay, so for the next tip, we have to talk

about the Gemini AI.

So to quickly bring up Gemini AI, you can

swipe the bottom corner upwards, and it'll

bring up this little box where you can use

the microphone to input your question, or

you can just type.

And you can ask Gemini lots of things, and

you can also attach an image.

So if you press the camera button and then

you take a picture like this, you can now

attach it, and then you can ask Gemini,

uh, what is in this picture?

And then Gemini is going to tell you

what's in the picture in case you didn't

know what's in the picture.

It is kind of useful.

For example, you take a picture of

something that you don't know what it is,

and you can ask Gemini what is in this

picture.

So Gemini says the image you sent appears

to show a foldable laptop desk being used

on a bed.

That's wrong, it's being used on the

floor.

The desk has a scale on it, but it's

difficult to make out the brand.

The foldable desk itself is designed to be

used on a bed or sofa.

It's kind of random because sometimes I

send the picture and it gives me more

detail, or it's more accurate, or it's

less accurate sometimes.

So it is a bit random.

So let's, for example, you can also take a

photo from your image gallery and I can

add a photo of my cat and I can say, what

type of cat is this?

I don't know what type of cat the cat is,

to be honest.

So it says it is likely a domestic

shorthair.

Domestic shorthairs are the most common

cat breed in the world, but this cat is

not shorthair, obviously has long hair.

So the accuracy needs some work on it.

We can also add a picture of food and see

if it can identify what kind of food is in

the image by attaching it and then saying,

what food is this on the plate?

Now it might be a bit hit or miss because

I tried it earlier and the first time it

actually accurately identified all of the

food, and then the next time it just

completely missed it.

So it says, based on the image you sent,

the food on the plate is most likely a

dish called bulgogi, which is a Korean

dish.

That's completely wrong.

There's no beef in the dish.

So you can say, you're wrong,

uh, can you tell me again what food is

this?

So if you tell Gemini you're wrong, he

will agree with you and apologize to you

and then correct itself.

So now it's just saying it cannot identify

what's in the dish.

So it's kind of flopped.

I swear earlier I put with the same

question, the same image, and it said it's

got broccoli, shrimp, an egg, and some

meat.

But I don't know why it's failing to do it

now.

It's kind of hit or miss, like I said

before.

Okay, this time it seems to have worked

quite well.

I took a picture of the phone that I'm

filming this video on, and it has

identified it nearly correctly.

It says, I can't definitively identify the

exact phone model in the image you sent,

but it appears to be a Samsung Galaxy S10.

Actually, this is an S10 Plus, but you

can't really blame the AI for not knowing

whether it's an S10+ or S10, 'cause

there's barely any difference apart from

the S10+ has a bigger screen size.

Okay, so the next tip is about battery

health and battery protection.

So if you want to use the phone for many

years to come, you want to look after your

battery health, and the way you do that is

by going to Settings and searching for

Battery Protection, and then you go into

the Battery Protection menu and you turn

it on.

And you've got a few options.

You've got Basic, Adaptive, and Maximum.

So when you put Basic, when the charge is

charged up to 100%, it will no longer

charge anymore.

Because when batteries— okay, so the way

batteries work is when it charges to 100%,

and if it keeps getting charged even

though it's at 100%, it will degrade the

health of the battery.

So you really don't want it to be charging

when it's already at 100%.

So with basic battery protection, what you

get is, is when it gets to 100%, it will

stop charging until it drops down to 95%,

and then it'll start charging again.

So that's basic.

Adaptive is use maximum while you're

asleep and to basic before you wake up.

Sleep time is estimated based on your

phone usage patterns.

And maximum, which is actually the best

way to do it, it will stop charging when

it reaches 80%.

So in most cases, for things like most

phones and also electric vehicles like

Teslas and EVs, charging it over 80% is

kind of like the area where it's kind of

dangerous and it's going to start damaging

your battery health.

So charging it up to 80% will make sure

that it is safely charged and you're not

going to risk destroying your battery by

overcharging it.

So having on maximum battery protection is

actually going to be best for the

longevity of your device and the battery

health.

And yeah, 80% is going to be fine.

You do miss out on the top 20% of battery

health, but it's not really a big problem.

For the next tip, did you know if you hold

down on a video, it will turn into a slow

motion video?

So here we have a video of my cat.

He's moving around at normal speed, and

then if I hold down on the screen, it will

turn it into a slow motion video, and it

uses AI to add in extra frames to make it

slow-mo.

For some reason, the video— oh, it ended

the video because the video is only 11

seconds.

We'll go back to the beginning of the

video and hold it down to slow-mo.

And as you can see, the cat has now been

slow-mo'd, but it looks kind of weird.

If you look closely, his fur looks kind of

strange in the way the AI is adding

frames, but the AI doesn't seem to be able

to make the edges of his fur coats look

realistic like it's supposed to.

But if you don't look too closely, I guess

it looks realistic enough.

And then when you finished your slow-mo—

look at his face— when you finish, just

let go and you've got this little button

at the top left where you can now download

it.

And well, not download it, you can now

save it as a new slow-mo clip.

So you can turn any video into a

slow-motion video And it's a pretty

interesting and cool way to edit your

videos if you want to turn it into a slow

motion video.

Okay, for the final tip, you can actually

use the folding hinge to create like a

self-standing tripod for the camera when

you're using the camera, and you can set

up some pretty interesting shots even

though you don't have a tripod with you.

So when you fold it, you turn it into flex

mode and you get this control panel down

at the bottom.

You can record, you can access lots of

different options, like all the options

are now there, and you can also do this.

So if you press this button, you now take

the preview screen from the top down to

the bottom.

Now why would you want to do this?

Well, basically you might want to like

shoot the camera pointing it up at the

sky, but then you can't see that screen

because that screen's pointing up the sky.

So now you can move that screen— wait,

there, there's my lights.

Now you can move the preview screen down

to the bottom so you can see what you're

shooting whilst the lens is pointing

upwards at the sky.

And you can also flip it on yourself, and

now you've got like a selfie tripod thing

supporting itself.

So you can be creative using the hinge and

the way it stands up on itself, on its

own, to create some interesting shots.

I don't know why it started filming, did

like a countdown timer.

I think I triggered the filming somehow.

You can also do other things like stand up

like that And now you can shoot in

vertical mode, and you've got another way

to stand itself up on its own using it

like it's a tripod.

So that's pretty cool.

And because the Fold 6 is so thick, it can

actually stand up on its own like this

even when the phone is closed.

It will just happily stand up on its own,

and again, that can be turned into like a

little selfie tripod.

So you can flip the camera Like that, and

then you can see, see yourself.

I don't know why it keeps automatically

taking photos.

Oh, it's because I put my hand— if you put

your— oh, this is another tip unless you

didn't know this already.

If you put your hand out like that, it

detects your palm and it will take a video

or a photo.
