I'm using a different program to stream because my previous setup kept breaking on Streamlabs. I mean, it wasn't breaking, it just didn't work.

Now I'm using macOS. Also, I'm gonna kind of slur my words today because My mouth hurts. I got multiple pain zones in my mouth. Oh my God, it already hurts.

I've not been good.

The day— on the day before Christmas, I was eating dinner and it was really tasty. And I was really hungry and I bit really hard on the inside of my lip. And then I bit it again in the exact same place, like 10 seconds later. I literally just bit it again. And then now there's like a massive

crater of an ulcer on the area. It's so painful.

I hate my teeth. I got like jagged shark teeth.

That's why I don't like to close my mouth when I chew. Because when I close my mouth when I chew,

it increases the likeliness I bite myself. I usually try to chew with my mouth open. I know it sounds and looks disgusting, but if I bite my mouth, I'm in pain for weeks.

It always happens on that side where I got a pointy canine. It's so annoying. It take like 2 weeks to heal. I got to make videos. It hurts when I talk.

And then I got a tiny painful lump on the left side of my tongue as well. And I got a smaller ulcer on the inside gum ridge, which is healing up mostly now, but it's still a bit painful. Goddamn ulcers.

Last time I got a haircut, I think it was before I bought the iPhone 15. I remember my hair was pretty short back then. That was September. It seems like I need to cut my hair every

4 months.

I have these really jagged teeth. That's why I keep biting myself when I chew by accident.

I should probably get my canine grounded down because the left canine is flat on that side and I never bite myself on this side. I always bite myself on this side where the pointy canine is because it's like you're chewing and you're salivating, so you're trying to keep it all in your mouth, so you use your lips

to keep the food in, but you've got to time the lip movements in between the biting. It's like a Spitfire. You know, the British World War II plane Spitfire? It was a genius of engineering because it could— it was one of the first ever warplanes that could fire its guns and the bullets would shoot between the propeller

blades.

So the bullets would like shoot but not hit the propeller blades. It's like that. I got to bite and keep the food in. It's also like Japanese mochi pounding. You pound it before the man puts his hand in, but sometimes you mistime it. And then I bite as I'm moving my lip in and I just crack down

on my lip. It's so painful.

It's so annoying. It happens every few months as well. It usually happens when I'm like zoning out and daydreaming about something whilst eating really quickly. If I don't focus and concentrate whilst eating, it usually happens.

So did everyone get a nice Christmas present? What did you get? Now I gotta talk like this the whole time.

Are you going to display comments on the screen? I could do, but I can't be bothered. I'm using OBS today, not Streamlabs, because I got this app. It lets you stream your webcam— I mean, it lets you stream your phone, your Android phone, to macOS. For some reason, the iVCam I used to use doesn't— it won't connect

to my MacBook.

So I had to get this new app, but the new app doesn't work on Streamlabs. So I had to use OBS, which is basically the same as Streamlabs. Streamlabs is just like a skin of OBS.

I can still use my Streamlabs alerts and text-to-speech. I just have to paste in the URL. It's fine.

Seems like the MacBook can stream perfectly fine. I'm using 35% of the CPU. It's not using any RAM. I'm using—

I mean, it is using RAM, it's just not using a lot. It's using 7 GB of RAM, 1.7 GB swap. Which is low for me. Usually I'm using like 3GB swap and maxed out the RAM just by web browsing and chatting on Discord.

Yeah, I got sick again a couple of days ago, but it was just a little cold. It's gone now. It was like hay fever. I kept sneezing and my rose was nunny. I mean, my nose was running all the time. And I had itchy eyes. It was just like having hay fever. But I think that was a

full-blown cold. But it went after a few days, so that's fine. But I got sick 3 times in Thailand this year.

I don't know why I keep getting sick here. Usually I don't really get sick a lot.

It's usually rare for me to get sick. Because I don't go out.

We've only got one more day left this year and then 2024 begins.

Does my nose ever bleed? Um, yeah, when I was younger, I suffered badly from hay fever, so I was constantly wiping my nose by sticking my finger up it and wiping it. I would never— I hate it when the runny nose drips out your nostril. It's so ticklish. So I always got tissue and I just stuck my

finger up there and went like that. But I would accidentally touch the inner wall and then it would just bleed and I'd get a nosebleed and I'd just be like this. For half an hour waiting for it to dry up. But not recently. Since I became an adult, that stopped. I used to have absolutely terrible hay fever,

the worst hay fever ever when I was a kid. As I grew up, it started to fade away,

but I could never enjoy summer. I always stayed in my bedroom during summer, shut the curtains because the sunlight would trigger sneezing. So I would shut the curtains, just play Sega Mega Drive during the summer.

I hated it, it was so bad.

Stream is demonetized.

Oh wow, OBS has like a system monitor built into it. It tells you how many kilobits you're streaming at, 8,000 kilobits. Tells you how much CPU is used. It's using 9% CPU. Streaming is really a low CPU activity, isn't it? The only important thing really is having good internet connection, but streaming, it doesn't use Hardly any CPU,

8%. It barely uses any RAM. How much RAM is it using? Oh yeah, it's using 900 megabytes of RAM.

So I'm thinking I don't refund my MacBook and I just keep this because this is the 8 gigabyte base model. It's completely fine. I made a video on it and I edited the video and it was using all of the RAM plus about 4GB swap. So maybe I should get 16GB. I don't know.

Did you sell your gaming laptop? Yeah, I sold that because it kept slowing down. It got really hot and then it was thermal throttling. Don't know if the guy who bought it realized. He had, he had a look at it and checked it, but I don't think He would know because he didn't do anything intensive whilst we

This MacBook's so much better than that laptop though. It's only 1.6 kg.

That laptop was nearly 5 kg with the power brick.

I sold all my tech just to replace it all with this stupidly expensive MacBook. You know, this MacBook cost $1,700, and I'm so stupid.

How do I even begin this story of stupid? It's so dumb.

Okay, so first I ordered the M3 MacBook Pro Space Gray model, paid for it, went to the Apple Store, decided I actually like the silver model better because silver looks nicer. So I say to them, can I switch it for the silver color? And they said no. They can't just give me the silver one. They said, oh,

you gotta refund the Space Gray and then buy a new one. So I ended up buying 2 MacBooks and they gave me the silver one. They refunded the Space Gray, but they didn't refund me the transaction fee. When you buy something overseas, my bank charges me 3% for currency conversion. For everything. I didn't realize this until recently.

So my bank charged me £41, which is like $55 just to buy the Mac. And then when they refunded me the Mac, I didn't get the fee back. So 3% of £1,700 is a lot. It's like nearly $60. So I got the refund. They didn't refund me the fee. And when they refunded me, they refunded me less

because of the exchange rate change. So I paid £1,370. They refunded me £1,350. So I lost £20 on the currency exchange rate and I lost £40 on the bank transaction fee.

So then I bought a second MacBook, this one, and again I had to pay the stupid conversion fee. So I paid £41 bank transaction fee twice, total of £82.

So I paid £82 on the fees, which I won't get back if I refund this too. And then if I refund this too, they'll probably refund me less than what I paid for it because converting— I think the baht has been weakening or the pound has been strengthening. So if I refund it and they give me baht

to pound again, then it's going to be less than what I paid for it. So I've lost £70 buying and refunding the first MacBook, and then I lost £40 buying the second one. So I lost like £110 over nothing,

which I could have avoided if I just transferred the money from my bank account into Revolut and then paid using Revolut, which does zero transaction fee

and they give 1% cashback.

So I lost £100 for nothing if I just use Revolut.

Also, I could have gotten the VAT refund of 7%, but I can't claim it because the VAT refund only is valid for 60 days, and I leave Thailand after 60 days. I'm leaving Thailand in March, which is over 60 days away, so I can't even claim the 7% VAT refund. So I got triple screwed.

Learn from my mistakes. If you're overseas and you want to buy tech or anything, you really should sign up to Revolut or Monzo or Wise or one of these fintech banking apps because you won't get screwed by the 3%, uh, conversion rate and you'll get cash back. I went to Texas Chicken to test out Revolut. I got

1% cashback.

0.05p. You can avoid international transaction fees. How? By getting Revolut. Revolut is great. I'm so stupid because I've been in Thailand for over a year and I've been charged 3% every single time I bought something here, plus ATM fees. I only recently found out about Revolut. They don't charge you transaction fees. They charge you— okay, there's like

a 0.4%, tiny, tiny fee, but it's nothing compared to the 3% fee.

Every time I went to the ATM, I got ripped off. 3% withdrawal fee.

People saying my fish tank looks like I peed in it. This is, this is good water. You ever go to a river or a pond and see the water completely clear? No, it's got to be slightly yellow because of the bacteria. You can't have like 100% sterile clear water.

I've had these fish for, what, 5 months now and I've had no casualties. Okay, there was one. Somehow it jumped out the tank and I stepped on it.

I got a lot of pimples recently. I don't know why. I've been kind of stressed out because my girlfriend's been at home every single day for the past 5 days. I can't make any videos or stream. You notice I didn't stream for like a week. It's because she's been here. She finally went to work. I get so

stressed out when I don't get any alone time. Can't make any videos.

I'm just a very pimply person. I don't think skincare is going to fix that.

I tried vegan diet in Manchester for like 4 weeks. It didn't make any difference. It's just stress. I had terrible pimples in Manchester, and then I came back home to my mom's house and they all cleared up just because I felt Less stress.

The more stress I feel, the more pimples I get.

I'm kind of stressed now because this stupid MacBook got ripped off over £100 on currency fees, exchange rate. When you get a refund— so for example, I buy the MacBook now when £1 equals 40 baht, but then I refund it when £1 equals 42 baht. Now I get less pounds when I refund it.

So in the shop it's 60,000 baht,

uh, exchange rate is like 44 baht now. So that'd be £13.60. But if the exchange rate changes to 42,

I mean 45,

they would refund me less money just because the exchange rate changed. So if you're unlucky and the baht strengthened when you want to refund it, then you're going to get refunded less money. It's so annoying.

So what you can do on Revolut is you can put money into it and then convert it into Thai baht. Without any transaction or conversion fee. You get the rate of the actual market rate. I think it's called the intermarket rate. Banks will give you the bank rate and they'll rip you off with like 3%. That's how

they make money. But Revolut and fintech apps, they use the intermarket rate, which is so much better than the bank rate. It's basically zero.

But then I had some bad luck because my bank blocked me because I was transferring money into my Revolut. I had to phone them up this morning. I said, hi, my— you blocked my bank account, can you unblock it? They said, uh, we saw some suspicious activity. Did you move money into a Revolut account? And then they

were like, uh, not to be rude or anything, but What made you choose to move money into Revolut? Like they were interrogating me for switching banking apps. Oh wow, thanks. I'm pretty sure you've never tried the baking soda paste. I used to have cystic acne. Very generous. Well, I put baking soda paste onto my— I tried everything.

I got some kind of hydrochloric glooperemic chemical pink thing in Manchester. It was like a, like a very strong acidic paste thing you paste onto your pimples and let it dry. It didn't do anything. It just irritated my skin. All these stupid creams and lotions, they don't do anything. I tried loads. Face wash, exfoliator, acne pore skin

clearer, hydroponic fuluric acid. I tried loads of stuff. Nothing works.

I don't believe in this. I think the skincare industry is a scam. It's just a load of rubbish.

Recently I've been really good at making steak. I beat it and then I fork it and I put salt and garlic powder and black pepper, and then I just grill it for like 2 minutes and flip it over. And I swear every single time it's been so juicy and tender. And then I put a knob of butter

and let it cook in the butter a little bit. My steaks have been damn good recently.

Wow, the MacBook's been really good for the stream, hasn't it? I went from $700 ROG Ally to $1,700 MacBook Pro. So worth the money.

I sold the ROG Ally to a Korean man. A couple of days ago, and then I made a new Microsoft account because I reset the whole thing and I had to make a new account to be able to log in and show him. So I made like a temporary one, but I forgot the password. So he took

it home and he was like, what's the passcode? And I said, 1234, 12345678. He kept saying, no, no, no, I couldn't remember it. But I think fortunately he's tech savvy. He knows how to hard reset a Windows device. I think you just like hold the power button, spam F11, go into boot mode, factory reset it. I don't

know what the PIN code was. I swear I put it as 1234. I sold it to him for $520. I bought it for $700, but I must have made like $250 off YouTube for making all the videos.

So I think I profited maybe $50 or something. I don't know at this point. I made so many YouTube videos about the ROG Ally, I can't be bothered to add it all up.

So then I bought the MacBook Pro because I want a lightweight, big screen, powerful device. I was thinking of getting the MacBook Air M2, but The M2 Air has the stupid M2 chip, which is worse than the Z1 Extreme chip. So why would I sell my ROG Ally and buy something that's worse? The M2 chip is old

technology. It's older than the Z1 chip. Z1 Extreme is like a 3-4 nanometer chip. The M2 is what, 7 nanometer?

And also the M2

doesn't have a fan and it has crappy LCD screen and the Pro has mini LED screen and it's got the M3 chip which is superior.

Although for what I do, M2 would have been— I mean, M1 was fine. Remember I had the M1 MacBook Air? In Scotland, that was perfectly fine. I sold it to my sister.

When— who cares about a chip when you can't play games? You can. I went on to my Steam library, sorted it by macOS. There's loads of games. Total War, Alien: Isolation, Baldur's Gate 3 is on Mac,

Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 7.

I phoned up the bank, told them I sent some money to Revolut, and then they kept asking me why. Why did you decide to make a Revolut? And I said, because I'm in Thailand, I want fee-free withdrawals

like a credible, legitimate bank.

But there's some kind of fraud going on, so they just froze my accounts because of that. Now they unfroze it.

I hate it, you phone up to the bank, you can't understand what they're saying because it's either an Indian or an Irish person. I don't know which one's harder to understand. Irish people or Indian people. Last time

it had a bomb in it, so they closed down the entire road. They hoisted the car onto the back of like a trailer and then they were like trying to trigger the bomb.

It was right outside the hotel and the hotel was near Buckingham Palace. I always take out Pia for a good time. We had German döner kebab.

I didn't talk about it at the time because she was still with her boyfriend, so it was all hush-hush. This might be the first time you're hearing this story. This was like 2022 summer.

I don't know. Do you think I've got this big idea recently? I've got a lot of ideas, so

you're going to have to bear with me for the stream because I've got a lot of, a lot of ideas to flesh out. So I got this idea.

Hear me out. I refund this MacBook. I have until the end of the first week of January. To refund this MacBook. Obviously I'm gonna lose the fee because they don't refund the fee, the currency exchange fee, and I'll lose like a tiny bit from exchange rates. So I'm gonna have to just take the hit on the fee.

But what I can do is

I can get the more expensive MacBook M3 Pro, which is 20% faster than this chip, and get 18GB base RAM. So I go from 8GB to 18GB RAM and get the M3 Pro chip and get— it's got double fan system too, and the M3 Pro is better at gaming. And that's going to cost— how much it cost?

It would cost 80,000 baht, which is $2,300. Now this one costs $1,700, but I can get tax VAT refund of 6,000 baht, which is $170. Oh my God, I can get $170 VAT refund at the airport.

Where's my calculator? So 2,300 minus 172. And then, um, if I use Revolut to pay I won't get the transaction fee and I'll get 1% cashback. So 1% of $2,300 is

$23. Why am I using a calculator? It's $23, but the cashback limit is the amount of the membership plan, which is $19.

So that's, um, £15.

So I get up to $19 cashback. So that's another minus $19.

What'd I say? 19? Well, I lost it now. £2,300 minus £175 minus £19.

I would get nearly $200 savings.

From cashback, the VAT refund,

and what else? Don't have to pay transaction fee on Revolut.

So that would make the total,

So yeah, I'd have to wait a week without a laptop before buying the new one. I really want the VAT. The VAT refund is 7%. That's crazy. You get

already the Thailand Apple Store is hundreds of pounds cheaper than the UK Apple Store. And on top of that, I get a 7% VAT refund. Oh my God.

7% of 2,300 is actually— it's more than 7%.

It's 6,000 baht. Which is 172. I think it's like 8%.

Oh, I got another thing to rave on about Revolut. So switching gears here onto the Japan plans, I've decided not to do the bike trip because I blew a lot of money on the MacBook.

And I realized that trying to bike to Osaka would probably take weeks of cycling and it would get boring. I decided to buy a plane ticket to a secret location. I'm not going to tell you, but I managed to get a really good deal on the plane ticket by using a VPN and Revolut, by booking the flight directly on JAL, Japan Airlines.

And I was only able to book it— okay, so usually I book my tickets on ebooker, and the flight cost £74, which I thought was already really cheap. But then the date I was looking at, they ran out of tickets, and the cheapest ticket was like £170. Had to take a a flight to Tokyo and then wait

in Tokyo and then fly back. So that's stupid. And then I went on to JAL. They wouldn't let me go on the website. It kept timing out. So I put my VPN, switched it to Japan, and then I could access the website. So I went on to JAL and then entered my dates and they had the ticket

for £64.

The ticket wasn't available on ebookers or Skyscanner or anywhere. It was only available on the website. In yen. So I bought the ticket using yen. Revolut automatically did the transaction, zero fees for converting the currency, and I got 1% cashback. I made 64p, so I'm pretty chuffed with that. I saved £10 and I made 64p

cashback. Didn't have to pay any currency conversion because I used Revolut. You know, I'm thinking of just having all my YouTube earnings paid directly into my Revolut account and then ditching my stupid UK bank that keeps blocking my account whenever I buy stuff. Really annoying. They keep, oh, we're trying to protect you, block my account. Then I

gotta phone them up, waste money on my Skype credit.

installation media, and then I just reset the whole thing and then reinstalled Windows. I think it's fine now.

It was kind of nice. It reminded me of my dad. I remember my computer would always go wrong, and then I needed my dad to help me fix it. And then I'd be standing there behind him, watching him try to figure out how to fix it. And it always seemed so complicated. I didn't understand anything about partitioning

drives and resetting and boot menus. Made me feel like I was my dad.

So I'm just gonna focus this week on making a bunch of MacBook videos before I return it.

My new video is doing quite well. The problem is I'm seeing this pattern on my videos recently. They do really well for like the first day. They'll go whoosh like that, and then all of a sudden after about 20 hours, it just completely flattens out. I don't know what is happening. Like, YouTube is suppressing me. These videos

should be getting like 10k views, but they're shooting up to like 2k views and then just going flat. What is that? Is it because people didn't like the video and the algorithm looked at the data and decided, yeah, people thought this video sucked, we're gonna stop promoting it? I don't know. It's really annoying because I can't make

good videos that people want to watch. I can only make bait, and people don't watch bait. They watch like 1 minute, 2 minutes max. When they realize it's bait, they'll just click off.

I think on average people watching 20% of my, my bait tech reviews. So they'll shoot up to like 2K views and then just flatten off and die. And not move again. Maybe it'll move again, like it'll go whoosh and flatten out and then like a tiny whoosh again, then flatten out again. But this same trend is happening

constantly.

YouTube is like clamping down on clickbait. If it figures out the viewer didn't enjoy the video, it won't promote it.

And I don't know how to make a good video that people really like. All I know how to make is bait.

So my business model has been affected badly.

And then you just like walk around on the beach for half an hour and then go back. It's such a waste of time and it's boring.

I know exactly what will happen. We'll get there, we'll get on the boat, I'll be fed up and probably get angry because I feel sick, and then we'll have a terrible time and we'll stand on the beach for like 10 minutes and then get bored and then buy some overpriced coconut meal. And all they sell is like

crab for food, seafood, crab and shrimp. That's all the food they ever have. So I end up only being able to eat chicken nuggets and chips.

Everywhere is just seafood, seafood, bloody seafood. I hate seafood. Everywhere in Thailand is just seafood. Why do they love seafood so much? Crab and shrimp everywhere you go. It's just shrimp, shrimp, shrimp, shrimp, shrimp, shrimp.

I wanted, you know, I wanted to book a riverboat cruise for Christmas, but all the river cruises' menu was just seafood.

Where's the turkey? Where's the potato and the bacon sausage? Nowhere. So hard trying to find a place that sold turkey.

We found that international hotel buffet and I was like, thank God. Turkey and potato and gravy. No stupid seafood. I hate seafood. Why would you want to eat disgusting bug-looking things that crawled out of the sea? It looks like a massive spider with a shell on it. It looks so disgusting.

And the smell, oh my God. Have you ever smelled crab? It's got like a weird smell, like the smell of the sea combined with the smell when you see um into a sock and forget about it, and it's got like that pungent smell. It's got like pungent sea smell. It makes me gag, the smell of crab.

There's so many other foods that taste delicious. Why do you have to eat a stupid crab? Anything— bacon, sausage, turkey, lamb, duck,

eat. I have to say, out of all the countries I've been to, Thailand has the weirdest food. And my girlfriend doesn't like anything I like. Like, I'll make golden curry and she won't have any. I'll make a beef stew, she won't have any. I'll make a steak, she will have like one bite and then go back to

weird food. Thai people have the weirdest taste buds. Like the complete opposite taste buds than what we have. They, they dip fruit into salt. They pour honey into curry. Like I made a curry and my girlfriend had some once and she just drenched it in honey

and they'll eat raw fruit. Like not, not fruit that's uncooked. I mean fruit that is not ripe. Like she'll have a mango and it's rock hard and crunchy and she's dipping it in salt. And I'm like, what the hell are you doing? It's not even ripe. They either eat the mango raw, completely not ripened, or they eat

it when it's super overripe. It's like all gooey and sticky, or they eat it with a load of rice.

Oh, there was this thing on the radio because when we're in the car, we listen to the radio sometimes and they were talking about Thai classical music. And the narrator was saying, because he was an English— it was an English channel. He was saying to people who are not used to it, Thai traditional music just sounds like

a barrage of different instruments all coming at you all at the same time. And the trick to enjoying it is you pick out individual instruments and you follow along with the beat, and then you switch over to a different instrument. That's kind of like the food. They just barrage you with every sensation. Sweet, spicy, salty, sour. That's

basically what Pad Thai is like. It's got all the flavors all at once, all coming at you. The music's like that too. I don't like that. I like a food to either be salty or sweet, not both.

Dessert is sweet. Dinner is salty. Dessert should never be sweet. I mean salty.

And the main dish should never be sweet. Never, ever. Apart from sweet and sour pork from Chinese restaurant is okay, I guess.

Pineapple on pizza is okay, but that's like a weird exception.

I'm very fussy about food. I like normal stuff, not weird things that don't hurt my mouth.

Okay, there's one Thai thing I kind of liked. They wrap ginger, lime, peanuts, shredded coconut, and they wrap it in a green basil leaf or holly leaf. I don't know what kind of— like a shiny leaf that tastes pretty good actually. And they put this like very sweet sticky sauce in it. I quite like that. That's okay.

Yeah, the reason why I'm so skinny is because I'm so fussy about food. Maybe that's why.

I find it ironic Joey complains about Japanese people not thinking he's Japanese when he's got an extremely Western way of thinking and personality. There's, there's nothing Japanese about Joey's personality. And you know why? Because he's not Japanese. He was born and raised in Australia, a Western country.

I'm using 9 gigabytes of RAM. Well, OBS is only using 1 gigabyte of RAM. It's just my web browser tabs are using a couple gigabytes.

It's not really different to Windows.

The main difference is

that you can press the green button and

it will make the program or the app blow up to like full size, but then the top menu bar disappears and the dock disappears. Which is annoying. So the only way to maximize a window without making everything disappear is to manually drag on the edges to resize it, which is a bit annoying.

I never use the green button, do you? I press the green button and now it's like full screen,

but I can't see anything else. I can't like go on to the taskbar, and if I click on another app, it exits the full mode of the app that I just went on to full mode on.

So it's kind of weird.

Look, now I've got OBS on a different virtual space. I can't figure out how to get it back. Oh, I click there and then I have to exit. Green mode. That's weird. I like it on Windows when you just maximize the window and you can still click on the programs at the bottom and it'll just come up

on top.
