BEFORE YOU BUY Hogwart's Legacy

Hello, welcome back to a new Hogwarts

Legacy video. So as the release date of

Hogwarts Legacy becomes nearer and nearer,

you might be wondering what kind of

Hogwarts Legacy edition should you be

buying. So before you buy Hogwarts Legacy,

let me tell you which edition you should

buy. Now it's kind of complicated because

there's so many different platforms now.

There's PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X and S,

Xbox One, and also the Switch and PC,

which also have Hogwarts Legacy editions

coming to them. The Switch version will be

coming out much later in the year.

There's going to be 2 different editions:

a Standard Edition, which will be the

cheapest, and also Deluxe Edition, which

will be the most expensive but also comes

with very special unlockables, including a

special flying mount and also other

collectibles that will come with the

Deluxe Edition. Now, one thing you have to

be careful about is all of the current

Hogwarts Legacy gameplay footage that is

flying around right now on YouTube has

mostly been filmed from PlayStation 5

footage. You can see from the controller

layouts, the X, squares, and triangles

obviously hint that the player playing

this footage played it on a PlayStation 5.

So we don't know what the game performance

is actually like on anything other than a

PlayStation 5. So just keep that in mind

when you're thinking about how the game is

going to run on different platforms. It

seems like Warner Bros. really wants you

to play this on the PlayStation 5.

They're really pushing for the PlayStation

5 to be receiving the most unlockables and

bonuses. If money is no question and you

don't really care about how much you

spend, then you can get the most expensive

version, and this will get you the most

bonus unlockables, also the 72-hour early

access. Okay, so the Standard Edition,

which is going to be the cheapest edition

that contains only the game— if you

preorder it, you also get the Onyx

Hippogriff mount and a Felix Felicis

potion, but this is only for PlayStation.

PlayStation purchasers also enjoy an

exclusive bonus quest, but without

preorders, you get only the game. If you

get the Standard Edition of Hogwarts

Legacy, it's going to cost you $69.99 on

PS5 and Xbox Series X|S and $59.99

on PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC. So,

it's a pretty expensive game. Nearly $100

for a video game. Wow. Oh, okay. So, for

people who have loads of money and can

splash out on the Deluxe Edition, you'll

find that it has many, many bonuses,

including All of the pre-ordering and

exclusive goodies from the standard

edition, obviously, but you also get 72

hours of early access, which is only

available for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and

PC. You also get the Dark Arts Garrison

Hat if you get the deluxe edition. The

deluxe edition also comes with the Dark

Arts Pack, which contains a thestral

mount, Dark Arts cosmetic set, and access

to the Dark Arts Battle Arena. If you buy

the Standard Edition, you can always buy

the Dark Arts Pack if you feel like it

later. While you might not have access to

the Dark Arts Battle Arena, there are

other arenas you can practice your wand

dueling. So personally, I think this is

kind of unfair. They're only allowing

people who have the most expensive

platforms like the PS5 or the Xbox Series

X|S or PC to have access 72

hours early access. Now maybe if you have

a cheap crappy PC, you can get it on that

and have access to 72 hours. But your PC

is not going to be able to run the game

very smoothly. It's kind of unfair that

people who can't afford the latest and

greatest platforms, who might only have a

PS4 or the older Xbox, they don't get

access to the greatest stuff. So my

recommendation would be, if you're on a

budget, then maybe just get the Standard

Edition, but if you don't care about

money, then get the Deluxe Edition. Now if

you're someone who has multiple platforms,

maybe you're loaded, you've got a really

good gaming PC, also got PS5, you also got

a Switch and an Xbox, then it seems like

getting it on PS5 will get you the most

goodies. I am a little bit concerned that

they don't seem to have shown any footage

from a PC version of the game. They've

only shown PS5 version of the game. I'm

thinking that either they're really trying

to promote the PS5 version of the game,

or maybe the game doesn't run on PC as

well as it runs on PS5, which is a little

bit concerning considering that A high-end

gaming PC should be able to blow the water

out of the PS5 when it comes to specs and

graphics. The fact that they haven't

chosen to show the game in its best visual

graphical settings, which could have been

on a PC, makes me believe that the PC port

might not be as well optimized as the PS5

version is. They have announced that the

Steam Deck version of the game will be

fully Steam Deck verified straight from

day one, so you don't need to wait at all.

So if you got a Steam Deck, which are

pretty cheap nowadays, so only like a

couple hundred dollars to get the low-end

Steam Deck. And then you have the PC

version, which will have 72-hour early

access. If you are purely a PC gamer and

you don't have any other consoles, then

maybe you want to wait on pre-ordering the

game. Maybe you want to wait until the

game actually comes out and other people

who have PCs have shown some footage of

the game running on a PC. Otherwise, you

might be a bit disappointed on the day one

performance for a PC. And there's also a

Collector's Edition which will cost you a

whopping $300. This is obviously the most

premium edition of the game, and it's

going to include all of the previous

bonuses I already mentioned, plus you'll

get this life-size realistic-looking

floating wand on top of an open magic

book. Also, the game will come in a steel

case and you get this Collector's Edition

box which has more goodies inside of it.

But I think it's going to be pretty hard

to get your hands on this Collector's

Edition. I've heard that scalpers have

already started to buy them up and start

selling them at ridiculous prices. Of up

to $1,000 on eBay. But some people who are

just insanely rich and really love Harry

Potter, they're gonna buy this no matter

what and they won't care. So it's gonna be

up to you depending on your budget, how

much money you can afford for this new

game. I think I will be just buying the

standard edition. I don't really care too

much about the bonuses. I think it's kind

of lame they're charging people extra

money just to be able to play the game 72

hours earlier than other people. It's

like, wow, how desperate for money can you

get? There's literally no physical reason

why they cannot let everyone play the game

at the same time on the same release date.

They're only doing it for an easy cash

grab. But they know how desperate people

are to play the game, and they know that

so many people will just fork out the

extra money to be able to play the game a

few days earlier because people are very

impatient. Even though there's over a week

to go until the game is released, you can

actually buy the game now and start

preloading it and start downloading the

game. So you can get ready now and start

downloading it, and it'll be ready to play

as soon as it's released to the public.

The official release date says the 10th of

February for every platform apart from the

Switch. But if you get the early access

version on PS5 or Xbox Series X|S,

then it is playable on the 7th of

February. For some reason, the Switch

version isn't available until July, which

is ages away. Maybe they're having

platform problems with it because the

Switch is a lot less powerful than these

other platforms, and they might have to do

a lot of tweaking to the game to reduce

its graphical fidelity so that it actually

runs smoothly on the Switch.
