My problem with living in japan [1ObYcm_JqPw]

Every single morning I have to wake up to

this sound.

Japan has a huge crow problem because

people just leave their rubbish outside on

the streets underneath these really flimsy

plastic nets. And then crows come and they

take off the netting because it's not

difficult to take off the netting, and

they start having a feast on the street.

That means every single morning I have to

wake up to the sound of gangs of crows

cawing and making all of this racket, and

it's so annoying. You see this? This is

the rubbish outside of the apartment, and

it's just lying here on the street

underneath this flimsy plastic netting,

and This is why the crows come here.

Look, look, can you see? It's a crow.

There's a single crow. As you can see,

it's just like what I was talking about.

It's making a huge mess.

Look at this crow. It's eating stuff.

Can you see it? It's trying

to get its beak into that plastic

Some houses do have a special place for

the rubbish to go, like this place. It's

locked inside of this caged building,

which is a really good idea.

Unfortunately, most places just leave

their rubbish out on the street like this,

underneath a flimsy net.

See, more nets. Do you think crows would

have any problems getting underneath these

nets? Look at this place, rubbish all over

the road. Absolutely disgusting.

Also, you have to be very careful when

walking underneath crows because they like

to shit on people. This nearly happened to

me when I was making this video. A crow

shat and it landed right next to me. I'm

pretty sure I'm pretty sure it was trying

to shit on me deliberately. It was waiting

for me to come and then it just let one

out. So as you can see, Japan has a huge

problem with crows just because people

don't know how to put their rubbish

outside and keep it secure. We don't have

this problem in England because we have

this magical invention called a wheelie

bin. Let me show you some photos.

It's not a difficult problem to solve.

You just need a hard plastic container and

then the crows can't get at it. It's

pretty simple, really. Do you want to know

what Japan's solution to the problem is?

I saw this on TV the other day. What they

do is they get a person who knows how to

handle hawks or eagles, and they bring in

that person and they get the hawk to chase

the crows away. So the hawk chases the

crows away back to the mountains, and then

everything's okay for a few weeks. And

then a few weeks later, the crows just

come back When the hawk's not there

anymore, it's completely pointless. If

they just use wheelie bins, then they

wouldn't have this problem. Look at this.

They have the hawk chasing the crows. So

So what they do is they release the hawk

to chase away the crows. Look at them.

There's so many crows. Why don't they just

shoot them all down? They're like flying

rats, aren't they? So they have this

person who handles the hawk. And the hawk

chases away the crows.

And, um, yeah, why don't you just use

There's too many old people here, and you

can really notice it when you go outside

because 80% of the people surrounding you

will be old. And the thing with old people

is they walk very slowly, and it's just so

frustrating when you're trying to get

somewhere and you're surrounded by hordes

of old people shuffling along at 2 miles

per hour. I walk very quickly, and when

there's somewhere I need to get to, I want

to get there as quickly as I can, so I

don't shuffle along like a zombie. And

it's so annoying when there's a horde of

zombie-like old people blocking your way.

I just can't stand it when people walk so

slowly. They take their own sweet time,

and they don't even pay any attention to

the people that they're blocking who are

behind them. Sometimes when I go outside,

it actually feels like I'm in The Walking

Dead or in some kind of zombie apocalypse.

Movie because everyone's shuffling along

like they're half dead. If you're dying

and you can barely walk, can you just stay

at home or get a wheelchair and get

someone to push you?

When you go shopping in Japan and you buy

something, they'll give you a plastic bag,

and usually they'll tape the plastic bag

together with a tiny piece of sticky tape.

And it's really irritating because,

because you have to pull apart the

sellotape, and that's it

really. No, I swear it's more irritating

than it actually sounds because, because

you have to pull apart the sellotape And

they didn't need to put sellotape on it in

the first place because I'm going to open

the bag. You didn't need to seal it shut.

And when you go shopping, they just spend

so much time— they waste so much time

taping every bag you have together with

this tiny piece of sticky tape when they

don't actually have to. I wish they would

just not do that. Japan is the only

country that I've ever been to where they

do that with the tiny piece of sticky

Sometimes this gang of kids stands right

outside of my apartment And they just

stand there chatting, and sometimes they

play football and they kick the ball

against the wall of the apartment, and I

can hear every time the ball gets kicked

against the wall. It's so annoying. Last

time they were doing that for about an

hour, more than an hour. And you know

what's— you know what makes things worse?

You go down the road, all you have to do

is walk down the road 2 minutes, and there

is a park. Why don't they go to the park

and play football? Or chat with their

friends? Why do they have to stand right

outside of my apartment and do it?

The reason why I don't want to buy a phone

in Japan is because they have this

built-in feature Where when you take a

photo, it makes this annoying clicking

sound. And no, you can't turn this sound

off in the settings. It's there forever,

and you can't turn it off unless you hack

the phone or do something to it. And the

reason why it makes this sound is so you

can't take pervy, creepy shots of women's

underwear. Japan has a big problem with

lots of guys here being creepy perverts.

So when you take a photo on your phone,

it plays a sound To prevent people from

taking panty shots.

Hello and welcome back to Cooking with

Daniel. Today we're going to be making an

English fry-up. So we have bacon— it's

not actually bacon, but it's the closest

thing I could find to bacon. So we have a

tomato, mushrooms, an egg,

And hash browns. Okay,

so you know when I was whinging about

Japan not having proper bacon? Well, I

found the exact same cut of meat that

British bacon is made out of. Now, in

Japan, they don't call this piece of meat

bacon. It's actually called— they call it

something like ginger fried pork, and it's

the same meat that British bacon is made

out of, and it tastes almost the same as

British bacon. The problem is it hasn't

been cured with salt, and there's no smoky

flavor. So we have to add our own salt,

and then if you just fry it like that, it

tastes pretty close to bacon.

And there you have it, the perfect— well,

almost perfect— English fry-up. It's not

quite perfect because we don't have baked

beans or proper bacon, but it does come

fairly close to the real thing.
