I went to the dentist yesterday

So yesterday I finally got my dentist

thing sorted out. So if you remember,

I hate it when I keep saying so. It's one

of the words I need to try and stop

saying. I think so and then I mean,

you know, when people start a sentence

saying I mean, I hate it when they say

that. I mean, blah, blah, blah, blah,

blah, blah, blah. You don't actually have

to say I mean. Doesn't add anything

anyway. So if you remember,

I've been going on about going to the

dentist for a long time now. It's one of

the main things, main things that's been

bothering me. And I went to the

dentist in England all the way back in

March for a checkup.

And then, you know, the whole lockdown

stuff started happening and they kept

canceling my appointment. I was

supposed to go in July, and I thought I'd

go home in July,

but my appointment got cancelled again.

Wow, it's really hard to play this and

talk at the same time. Hold on, let me

kill these idiots. They've got a whole

Jesus, Jesus, no! I nearly wiped

out the whole squad. Anyway, yeah, I was

supposed to go home in July to go

to the dentist, but then they cancelled my

appointment again. So I thought I'll just

stay, and they said my next appointment

would be in September for the cleaning,

but they didn't tell me when my

appointment would be for the actual

fillings. So when I went to the dentist in

March, they said I've got 2 small cavities

and I needed to get them filled. So I was

kind of worried. I thought, oh crap,

better get that sorted out soon. But I

couldn't because stupid lockdown meant you

can't go to the dentist, which is really

dumb. I don't understand why going to the

dentist would be a risk. They're wearing

face masks anyway. So I got fed

up and I decided to book myself an

appointment here. I asked someone if they

knew a good dentist around this area where

they speak English, and he recommended me

a good place. So I went there yesterday,

actually, and it was kind of annoying, to

be honest. So first of all, I went there

and they sprayed my face with

disinfectant, which was kind of weird. So

they sprayed my face, my hands, my feet,

and then I sat down. I wanted to go up to

the reception to tell them that I've got

an appointment here, but there was this

stupid blonde woman standing there the

whole time chatting to the reception

staff. And I thought, maybe they're

talking about something important.

Maybe they're handling something

important. And I ended up waiting for like

half an hour, just sitting there waiting

for this stupid woman to get lost. But she

wouldn't. She was just chatting the whole

time. I don't know what she was talking

about. They weren't talking in English.

And then she was laughing and showing them

her phone. So I guessed maybe they're just

chatting, maybe they're friends or

something. So I got fed up and I stood up

and I interrupted her. I said, Excuse me,

I've got an appointment. And then they

said, yeah, the dentist knows you're here.

And I thought to myself, if the dentist

knows I'm here, why are you making me

wait? Why don't— why don't you give me the

forms to fill out? Because they told me to

come early to fill out some forms. So I

arrived half an hour early and I waited

half an hour for this stupid blonde woman

to stop chatting. And then I walked up to

them. Then they finally gave me the forms

to fill out. And the forms weren't even in

English, they were in German. So I filled

out the first page because I kind of

guessed what it meant.

German kind of looks like English

sometimes.

But the second page was like this long

list, like a checklist of things I had to

check, and I didn't understand it. So I

was flipping through it and then they

finally said, would you like the English,

the English form? And I said, yeah, that

would be helpful. Why didn't you give me

the English form in the first place? You

know I'm not German.

So I filled out this stupid form and

after waiting nearly an hour, they said my

appointment was at 3, but they didn't see

me until half 3.

And then they finally called me in. It was

this nice lady. She was quite nice,

actually. Had brown eyes, nice to look

into. And what

Um, I explained to her that I went to the

dentist in England. They said I needed

fillings. So she checked my teeth and then

she made me bleed, and then she said it

was unusual for me to bleed so much. She

said that I should go and get myself

checked up with a doctor because it's not

normal for so much blood to come out. I

mean, you did poke me with a metal pokey

thing in my gum, so I don't

know if it's normal. I guess I do have A

lot of bleeding sometimes.

God, these people suck so much.

I don't have any bullets. Can I get to the

taxi before I die? Yes, I can.

Anyway, yeah, she poked me with this metal

pick thing and then I started bleeding a

lot. Um, yeah, my gums

do bleed if I randomly poke

them with a sharp object, but usually when

I'm flossing and brushing my teeth, they

don't just bleed so much.

And she said maybe I should get myself

checked out at the doctor's because it's

strange that I bled so much and it took

such a long time for the bleeding to stop.

I don't think that it took a long time for

the bleeding to stop. It took It took

about 15 seconds maybe until it stopped

bleeding. I don't think that's a long

time,

so I don't really feel worried about it.

I don't think I'm gonna get myself checked

out. What would I say? Hey doc, so my gum

bled when someone poked it with a metal

pointy thing. Maybe don't poke it with

a pointy metal thing then. And what's he

gonna do, give me some anti-bleeding

pills?

I don't think I'm doing anything wrong. I

think I have a balanced diet. I don't take

drugs or anything. I don't smoke. I don't

drink loads of Coca-Cola. So I don't see

what I'm doing wrong when it comes to

lifestyle choices that could be affecting

my gums.

Anyway, after she poked around, she said

my teeth were fine and I didn't have

anything that needed filling. So kind of

conflicting against what the English

dentist said. English dentist said I

needed 2 fillings for these tiny cavities,

and then she said that it's nothing to

worry about and they're very small and

they're inactive and I don't need fillings

right now. But she said that

the bleeding was worrying, and then she

gave me some special toothpaste, and then

she cleaned my teeth using the water gun.

Where'd that

person go? Oh,

stay still! She's got that stupid pepper

thing. And I'm out of bullets.

Yeah, she gave me, um, a cleaning session

with the water jet spray, which was quite

nice. Quite nice, actually. It felt

comforting having a woman hovering over me

so close. I don't know if that sounds

perverted. I guess it does.

And then they gave me a new appointment.

I could understand her pretty well, but—

oh, I'm gonna die. Yeah, I could

understand the dentist fairly easily, but

her assistant was wearing like this Muslim

headgear. I couldn't understand a word she

was saying. She was trying to tell me the

date of my next appointment, but all I

could hear was mimimi mimimi mimimi

mimimi. And I kept saying, sorry, I don't

understand. Sorry, could you say that

again? And she kept saying it again, but I

couldn't understand what she was saying.

It just sounded like mimimi mimimi. So I

said, can you write it down? And then she

wrote down the dates, and I thought—

finally realized, oh, you're trying to

tell me when my next appointment is. She

said next year March, and I was trying to

say that I don't think I'll be here next

year March, but whatever.

One funny thing about Fortnite is there's

voice chat and then you get these stupid

kids just speaking to each other. Can you

hear? I don't

think they can hear me. Sometimes they're

French, sometimes they're German.

There's one time when I was playing it and

this kid was having an argument with his

mum and the dog was barking in the

background. It was pretty funny. Uh,

anyway, what was I saying? Yeah, so I

finally got the dentist thing sorted out,

which is great because it's something

that's bothering me for a while now. So

the English dentist said I needed fittings

But then the German dentist said I don't

need them right now, so I think I'm just

going to go with what the German dentist

said and not get them because

I'm not going to go all the way back home

to England just to get some stupid

Now I have to phone up the English dentist

to try and get a refund. Because I paid in

advance, which is kind of stupid. I

shouldn't have paid in advance, but I paid

in advance about £300 because

I didn't think it would take such a long

time for the dentist to open up again.

I think it should be fine, really. Maybe

I'll get another checkup next year. See if

they need fillings. But yeah,

I feel like it's a big burden off my chest

now. The next thing I wanted to do was get

my eyes checked because my vision is so

bad even with my glasses on, because last

time I got my eyes checked was when I was

about 18 or 17, and I haven't had new

glasses since then.

I don't know if I really care that much.

I mean, it's just a bit blurry in the

distance. It's not really a huge problem.

I guess it would be nice if I could watch

TV without it being blurry.

So maybe I'll get my, my eyes checked here

as well if I grow really care enough.

what a tourist does, which would be

traveling to tourist destinations.

A tourist just stays in the country for

like a week and does touristy things.

This game has changed so much since I last

played it. Last time I played it,

they didn't have vehicles, they didn't

have helicopters,

and I feel like some of the weapons have

been removed. I'm pretty sure there used

to be a hunting rifle. That's been

removed.

And I'm pretty sure there didn't used to

be these computer-controlled NPCs either.

Where's that coming from?

And there wasn't this light machine gun,

which feels pretty overpowered.

Oh, and there didn't used to be these big

green bombs. There's like these green—

it's called Doctor Doom's

Mysterious Bomb or something, and it's so

annoying, so overpowered. So it

charges up and it launches like this big

green energy ball that explodes, and you

can spam it over and over again. And if

someone has that, you're basically screwed

because there's hardly any reload and it

just blows up everything and you get

thrown into the air, which interrupts your

own reloading. It's so overpowered, I hate

it.

So yeah, I feel pretty relieved that I got

the whole dentist thing sorted out. That

was the main problem I had, and I guess

now I don't have to go to the dentist

anymore. I don't have to go back home to

England, and to be honest, I don't really

want to go back home to England. I don't

see a good reason to.

Well, I guess the only good reason would

be to save up money. I mean, I've spent a

lot of money on Airbnb rent this

month. My rent was so expensive, it was

like £2,700, but I'm gonna get a cheaper

place next time. The reason why I got this

expensive place was because I thought I'd

just be here for a month and then I'd go

home and then start saving money again,

but I think I'm just gonna

stay. And I checked Airbnb and it looks

like the prices have gone down a lot,

maybe because it's September now and maybe

August is more expensive.
