Why I HATE the Apple AirPods Max

Hello tech lovers, I am a professional

tech reviewer and I recently just got my

hands on the brand new Apple AirPods Max,

and I thought I would give you a review

and give you my thoughts on this product.

As someone who really, really loves music

and is a bit of an audiophile, I thought I

would give you my first impressions and

thoughts of the device after using it for

a couple of weeks. And unfortunately, I

don't have a lot of good things to say

about this product. It's just not very

good It's a complete waste of money. The

sound quality is okay, but for this price

point, you'd expect much better than okay.

When I put these headphones on, for this

price point, I expect that the audio

sounds better than it does in real life.

And unfortunately, the sound quality of

these headphones from Apple are just not

quite up to my standards. And I know I

have very high standards when it comes to

this kind of thing, but that's because I

love tech, I love my music, I love my

audio, and I love my video games, and I

want the best. And for this amount of

money that I'm paying, I'm shedding out

from my children's inheritance, I want to

be able to boast about having the best

quality that money can buy. And I can just

cannot say this with this current product.

Okay, so next let's talk about the design.

As we all know, Apple are very good at

designing extremely good-looking products,

and the Apple AirPods Max is no different.

I think these headphones look really good.

They have that Apple iPhone aesthetic.

Even though it's not an iPhone, it still

has that kind of iPhone look. I love the

little twiddly knob button at the top. I

love how the whole thing is made out of

metal. Most headphones of this category

are made out of plastic, and you can

really see the quality shine through on

this metal device. When you go outside,

the metal becomes cold to the touch.

That's really cool. Now, the thing that is

not cool about these headphones would

undoubtedly be the case. The case is

just weird looking. Number one, it looks

like a woman's bra. Got nothing against

women's bra, but when I want a case for my

headphones, I'd prefer them not to look

like women's lingerie. I don't know who at

Apple designed these, but they look

absolutely horrendous. They look stupid.

They look ridiculous. And the worst thing

is you are forced into using them. You

can't just throw them away or replace them

or get your own custom headphone case.

You actually, literally, technically,

fundamentally are forced into using this

stupid-looking case. There's no way to

physically turn off the headphones unless

you put them into the case. There's no off

button. There's no on button. The

headphones just stay on forever unless you

put them back into the case. And if you

don't put them back into the case, the

batteries will just drain and you'll have

no battery, and then you'll just have to

constantly charge them. So if you want to

turn them off, you have to use the case.

This is the annoying thing about Apple.

They make— sometimes they make bad things.

Most of the time they make nice things

that you want to use, but Every once in a

while, and then again and often, they'll

make something that's kind of crap and

looks stupid, and they kind of force you

into using them instead of giving you the

option of you could use a custom

third-party, um, accessory or case,

or you could use our official branded

product. Instead of giving you the option,

instead of giving you the choice, they

force you— well, they try their best into

forcing you to use whatever they're

making. And this is just a really— a slap

in the face in the consumer. The other

thing I hate about the design of these

headphones is the top of the headband. If

you look at the top, there's this really

strange kind of nylon mesh looking

netting thing at the top. And I think it's

because, um, of the weight of the

headphones requires some kind of netting

meshing to distribute the weights evenly

over the top of your head. Otherwise it

would start to get a bit uncomfortable.

This looks absolutely terrible. It looks

like something you'd use to drain the

liquid out of pasta, or something you

would use to catch a little goldfish at

the funfair, or it looks just— I don't

know, it just looks really dumb. And the

other problem is because it's made out of

metal, it means these headphones are going

to be way heavier than conventional

plastic headphones. And this means

that it's going to start getting kind of

uncomfortable if it's on your head for

hours and hours and hours, or if you're

going to go jogging outside. It's going to

be a bit heavy. I think you're going to

notice the weight. And, um, yeah, the

price of this product is just insanely

overpriced, way too expensive for what it

is. It's over $550. For that amount

of money, uh, you could get a really good

speaker sound surround sound system, or

you could just get Sony headphones that

are wireless that cost half the money And

that are just as good, to be honest.

Okay, they're not made out of metal, and

they're not Apple, and the design isn't

really, you know, Apple aesthetic, but

still they get the job done. They're noise

cancelling, they've got good audio,

they've got surround bass systems in the

earphone cuffs. I honestly was a bit

surprised when they came out with these

headphones. I really wasn't expecting

Apple to make their own brand of

over-the-ear, over-the-head headphones.

It kind of seems like a bit of a random

thing, like they're just pumping out all

kinds of new products now, new product

lines, so they can make more money. What

next? Are they gonna make an Apple camera

or an Apple microphone? I personally

would prefer to have the AirPods Pro. I

don't really like these big, these big

massive over-the-ear, over-the-head

headphones. Just look kind of stupid.

They look really dorky and nerdy. I don't

know why some people wear them

unironically. I tried wearing them before

and it just made me look like a, like a

massive nerd, even nerdier than I already

look. I'd rather have those in-ear

wireless AirPods, EarPod things, which are

nice and small. You don't really notice

them, and they still deliver amazing sound

quality. The other thing that annoys me is

when YouTubers wear those big fat ugly

headphones in their videos when they're

not even listening to anything. Why are

they wearing it? Someone who does this a

lot is PewDiePie. He'll make a video and

he's wearing headphones. But he's talking,

so how is he listening to anything? How is

he— well, unless he's listening to

classical music whilst he's doing his

talking in his videos, which I rather

highly doubt he's doing that, I don't

understand why he's wearing earphones or

headphones during the video. The other

annoying thing I've noticed some YouTubers

doing is when they're doing a podcast—

this is the dumbest thing ever. I really

have no idea why they do this. Maybe they

think it looks cool. So some of these

YouTubers, they do podcasts. Yeah.

And they're all at the same table.

They're sitting at the same table in front

of each other, not in different rooms,

but they're in the same room sitting right

next to each other and they're doing a

podcast and they're wearing headphones.

What could they possibly be listening to?

Are they listening to each other's voices

in the headphones? Why don't you just

listen to their actual voice since you're

sitting right in front of them? I don't

understand why they do this. They're

trying to be all professional looking with

the sound checks. Oh, we have to make sure

the sound is perfect and doing sound

checks in real time. A load of rubbish.

Why don't you just put the microphone in

the middle of the table and then just talk

to each other like normal people, not

wearing stupid headphones? If they were in

a different room or if they were doing the

podcast from their own homes separately,

then it would make sense to wear

headphones because you need to hear the

voice. But if you're in the same room, in

the same vicinity of the person you're

doing the podcast with, You would think

you could actually just use your ears to

pick up the sound vibrations coming out of

their voices. Anyway, yeah, those were my

thoughts on the Apple AirPods Max. Waste

of money, just rubbish idea, stupid,

looks ugly, and it's fat. I give

it a 1.1 out of 10, would not buy again.
