Today I went to see an apartment and it

was, it was okay, but I don't know why I

feel Funny about it. I didn't really look

at the apartment properly even though I

was there. I just kind of went in, had a

glance at it, and thought, yeah, this

looks fine. But I didn't really— I

wish I spent a bit more time looking. It

looked fine. It just looks the same as

this place. It's got a living area and

then it's got a kitchen, it's got a

bedroom, and it's got bathroom. It's

literally the same as this place, but it's

also got a balcony, and it was

quiet. The area— I wasn't that amazed

by the area.

I liked how it felt tucked away in the

corner of the building, so I don't feel

exposed. It's not near a busy road,

so it was pretty quiet. It's just

the inside of the building looked like a

hospital. The corridors were just like

hospital corridors, all white, completely

bland. It just felt a bit depressing.

I guess I won't be in the corridors for

very long, so it doesn't really matter.

You're in the corridor for what, 2 minutes

a day? Not even a day. So when you go

out, you're in the corridor for about 1

minute.

So I phoned up a different apartment place

trying to get some options, but, uh,

I thought the pictures looked nice,

but then I noticed it's on the ground

floor. I don't really want ground floor

apartment. It's got 2 floors.

And it's got like a basement floor where

the bedroom is. You know, sometimes you

walk past buildings and there's, there's

like a basement with a window and you can

like look down into it. The bedroom's in

like a basement room, so you've got a

window up here that, that you can see the

street from on. You can see cars parked.

I don't like that. I don't want to be

sleeping below street level. That's just

weird. And then you go upstairs, you've

got a living room, the kitchen, and that's

above, slightly above ground level. But

then it's like you've got the window here

and you're looking down onto the street

and people would be walking by. It'd be

kind of annoying and the view's rubbish,

so I don't think I'm gonna go to that

viewing. I booked a viewing next Monday.

Maybe I should cancel it. It's also more

expensive. But then it's in this street,

which I quite like this street. The other

place is about 20 minutes walk away and

the street isn't that great. It's just

like off the main road and then it's where

a load of apartment blocks are. I guess

it's not really important if I'm just

at home all the time. It's also cheap.

£700 a month, but then I have to pay all

the rent all at once, which is making

me feel a bit uneasy. It's a bit scary

having to suddenly send £9,000

over to this estate agent, and then what

if they're not a good estate agent? And

what if I have problems and then they're

not very helpful? And what if the water

breaks? What if the electricity doesn't

work? And then we've got to deal with all

that. Or what if there's things in the

apartment that doesn't work properly?

Like, what if there's mold somewhere or

something wrong with it? I didn't really

have a very close inspection.

It's a bit stressful getting an apartment

because you, you don't know what's going

to go wrong. You read reviews, some people

have written really bad reviews saying

stuff like I rented this apartment from

them and it was so bad and they dry

painted over mold and then it gave me lung

cancer. And then we had a pest problem and

I had to pay to get rid of the pests.

Sounds like a lot of people have these

nightmare experiences renting places. It

just sounds stressful.

It looks fine from what I saw though.

It's a pretty modern building too.

What can you do? They should

let you do a trial stay. Why don't they

let you do a trial week staying there to

see if you like it before completely

deciding to move in?

I just want to get back to bloody Japan.

Why did I leave? Could just get an easy

hotel in Japan for like 800 a month

and it'll have a kitchen and it'd be nice.

Don't have to do stupid renting stuff. If

I was going to go the hotel option in

Manchester, it would cost me like £1,500

a month. Or maybe ¥1,200

if I stay at the really cheap hotels, but

small, just got a bed in it and there's no

because it was on the 4th floor.

It was quite high up, had balcony. The

view from the balcony was pretty nice, a

because this agency, they want 12 months

rent all at once, but then the second

agency, they said I can pay 6 months and

then 6 months later another 6 months,

which is better because then I only have

to pay 6 months instead

of all the 12.

It's also time-consuming getting the money

because I have to sell my stocks, and then

I want to sell the stocks at, you know,

not at a loss. And then I've got to wait

for the money to go from the stock account

to my bank, which can take a few days.

And then Freetrade, when you sell a stock,

it goes into unsettled cash, and then you

have to wait a few days for it to turn

into withdrawable cash, and then you have

to wait a few more days for it to go to

your bank account. Takes ages, all this

withdrawing. So I've got 4 or

5— I think I've got 5,000 waiting to come

into my bank account. That would get me up

to about 7,000, so I need to scrounge up

another 2,500.

Why would I buy a house in Osaka? I can't

even get into Japan. That's the whole

problem. Otherwise I just go there now and

live in a hotel.

I just feel like living in a hotel would

be really depressing because I'd have less

I can't do laundry in a hotel. I have to

go to a coin laundry place.

like my sideburns when they're wet. I'll

straighten them by pulling it down whilst

it's kind of damp and then letting it dry

and then it will dry straight.
