I YOLO'd my ENTIRE Life Savings onto the Stock Market

Hello and welcome back to a new video

about investing. So as some of you may

know, I recently decided to put all of my

life savings onto the stock market just

out of boredom and to try and find a new

way to make some money. I thought, why

not? What's the worst that could happen?

So this is my main brokerage account.

I've got a few others with a couple

thousand here and there. So I'm only gonna

show you my main account because the other

accounts are kind of boring. But this is

my main account, which has the majority of

my life savings in it. Thought I'd just

show you what's going on, what stocks I

have, what's doing well, what's not doing

well, and what my whole thoughts are on

this investing journey that I have

embarked on. So first of all, the app

that I use for trading is called

Freetrade, and I think you can only use it

if you're in the UK, if you're British.

If you want to try out Freetrade, then you

can use my link. And if you sign up and

deposit money, we both get a free share or

something like that. It's not a scam.

Don't start saying that I'm trying to scam

people. It's a referral link to a

brokerage app and you get a free

share when you put money. It can just be

£10 and then we'll both get the free

share. And there's also a few other apps I

use. I use eToro. Because that's pretty

good for copy trading and you can just

copy someone else's portfolio and they

manage the portfolio and you just sit back

and enjoy the ride. I won't really get

into that into this video because it's

kind of boring. And I also use Trading 212

in case that the share that I want to buy

is not on Freetrade. Usually it's on

Trading 212 because Freetrade is kind of a

new app. They don't have all of the shares

that are out there. Okay, so this main

account that you're looking at now, I have

put in an initial investment of £20,000.

So I started off with £20,000,

and as you can see, I'm actually up by

£3,125, which is pretty good.

I was actually up even more a few days

ago. I was up about £4,500.

And then the market started correcting and

it went into like a bit of a dip. The

whole market was red for a couple of days,

but it started recovering and we're back

up to +£3,125.

Next week, I'm expecting it to go up even

more because some of the plays that I have

chosen are expected to pop quite soon.

I'll explain about popping in a minute.

So first of all, let me explain to you my

investing strategy. My investing strategy

has kind of changed over the few months

after I started investing. And my first

initial investing strategy was I was gonna

do dividend investing, play it safe, you

know, just invest in well-known, safe and

stable companies like McDonald's,

Coca-Cola, Microsoft, and get dividends.

Well, I did try that out, but then I

realized that you need to invest insane

amounts of money to be able to get

anything noticeable. You would have to

invest maybe £200,000 to £400,000

to even make just a couple hundred dollars

a month. So obviously with just about

£20,000, even if I invested that entire

£20,000 into something like ExxonMobil,

which is an oil company that gives a

pretty good dividend, I'd probably still

just make $300 a month, which is pretty

pathetic considering the risk that I'm at.

If Exxon has any bad news or or they slash

the dividends or something happens that

drops the value of the stock, then my

$20,000 invested in Exxon could quickly

get slashed in half and go down the

toilet. So I didn't really feel like it

was worth the risk and I didn't have

enough capital to be able to make anything

decent off of dividends. The most I made

off dividends was about, you know, $20

here and there after investing thousands

into some shares. So I thought, this is

way too slow. I don't have enough money to

be able to make passive income off of

dividends. Let's try a different strategy.

And the new strategy I went for was growth

shares, growth stocks. And this is trying

to find shares that are undervalued and

only around $10 or $20, and then you wait

for them to pop and then you cash out.

And this is how I pick my stocks. I don't

actually pick any of my stocks by myself.

I don't do any research. I don't go onto

Google and look up articles and stuff like

that. Basically, I just follow a couple of

stock analysis channels on YouTube who

have quite good reputations and seem to

know what they're talking about, and I

just follow their recommendations. If they

make a video saying, buy this stock now,

it's gonna blow up, then I'll probably

just trust them, put $1,000 or £1,000 onto

the stock they recommended. And so far,

every time they've recommended something,

it has actually gone up and made me money.

So I do feel quite comfortable trusting

these people. Obviously the most reliable

and well-known of the stock YouTubers—

well, they're not just stock YouTubers,

they also talk about financial stuff and

business. The main 2 financial and stock

channels I watch are Graham Stephan and

Meets Kevin. They have pretty large

channels, but I also watch a bunch of

smaller channels. Stock Moe and Chris Sain

are also pretty good and seem to know what

they're talking about, and they usually

recommend good stuff that has always

resulted in gains for me, so I feel pretty

comfortable with following what they're

saying. Obviously I'm not an expert and

I've only just started doing this a couple

months ago, so I, I know nothing,

close to nothing about investing. I know

the basics now, you know, like buy the

dip, don't panic sell, wait for the pop.

Okay, so these are my top 3 investment

holdings. I have At number 1, I have

Palantir, and they are some kind of data,

data company, software company. They get

contracts from the governments and other

government agencies like the FBI or NASA

or the CIA. They make software for those

companies to, um, not entirely

sure, to be honest. There's something

about anti-cyber hacking,

stuff like that. It's supposed to be a

good company, and I managed to get in when

it was quite cheap, around $20 or $25,

and it's expected to pop over to $30

next week. So I'm waiting for the pop.

Already pre-pop, I am up by 6.5%.

It's quite volatile at the moment. This

week alone, it kept going up and down. So

I was gains— I had gains of between 6% and

15% at its highest. So I just need to be

patient, wait for next week or the week

after when it pops, and then I will sell

when it's over $30. If it's over $30,

that would be pretty nice. I'd make gains

of thousands of dollars, which is pretty

exciting. So my second highest holding is

Landcadia 2, and they

are a company that is going to merge with

this online casino gambling website called

Golden Nuggets. And they just do online

gambling basically. So I put quite a lot

of money onto that because it's expected

to pop on December 18th when it merges

with the Golden Nugget Company. It's

called a SPAC, special purpose acquisition

company. I can't really be bothered to

explain about the whole thing because I

don't really want to. Okay, my 3rd highest

holding is Tesla. Everyone knows Tesla,

electric cars, SpaceX, Elon Musk, blah

blah blah. So they recently popped because

they were announced to be

included into the S&P 500 and people were

expecting it to go over $700 in value.

So I'm waiting for it to go to at least

$700 before I sell. I was thinking about

holding on to it long term because

everyone's saying, oh, Tesla is going to

be worth $1,000 next year. But I

don't know if I have the patience to wait

until next year. I kind of want to just

cash out in in the near future.

As for the rest of my investments, I've

got quite a lot of investments in a bunch

of stuff. In my other accounts, I've got

investments in NIO, which is like a

Chinese electric vehicle company, a bunch

of other electric vehicle companies as

well. I also have— I have Plug Power, I

have F-Cell, which is like a hydrogen

battery company. So basically a lot of

companies that revolve around the electric

vehicle industry. Industry. And on

this main account, the rest of my

investments are as follows. American

Airlines, I am up by 33%.

Earlier this week, I was actually up by

40%. American Airlines has been really,

really has been one of my best picks. And

I think airlines and other things that

really crashed hard because of the

you-know-what spreading around the world

they're going to make a recovery early

next year, I think. And you can already

see, um, companies like airlines,

American Airlines, cruise line companies,

restaurants, retail, they're starting to

make a recovery because vaccines are

coming out. People are expecting that next

year things are going to return to normal.

And really, you should have bought these

stocks back in March when everything

crashed really hard, but I was kind of

late to the party, but not too late

because I still managed to make 33% gains.

I am expecting to make over 50% gains

because I think American Airlines is going

to recover and get back to where it was

before it crashed. I also have Norwegian

Cruise Lines, same as— basically it's in

the same group as American Airlines.

You know, cruise lines all went down

because of the you know what, but now

they're coming back up because of the

vaccine, so that's all good news. And I've

got Square, which they're kind of like a

PayPal company. Don't really understand it

much, but apparently they're supposed to

be good. And I've got Macy's, which is

retail. They have shops. They also crashed

pretty hard, so I managed to pick up over

100 shares for quite a decent price, and

they're expected to recover in the same

way that the cruise lines and airlines are

going to recover. I also got Switchback

Energy. And Hummingbird Resources, just

£100 in there. And then under that I've

got a bunch of random metal mining

companies I just put £20 and £10 on for

no reason. I guess that was kind of a

stupid thing to do. As for the rest of

my investments, I've got quite a lot of

investments in a bunch of stuff. In my

other accounts I've got investments in

I do have my entire life savings invested

into stocks and shares now, and no, I

don't really feel worried. I've— I feel

like I've got quite a good spread,

a good diverse selection of strong

companies in my portfolio. I don't feel

worried that these companies are going to

fail. I feel pretty confident that they're

going to do well. And, um, yeah, I think

this could be interesting, like a little

mini journey adventure that I could make

update videos on to talk about how things

are going and what stocks I'm picking next

and things like that. So yeah, goodbye.
