My problem with Elvis The Alien

A YouTuber called Elvis the Alien has made

a second video about me. You might

remember him from last year when he made a

video about me in November. I don't

dislike Elvis. I think he's a very nice,

friendly person. We spoke before on

Instagram privately, and he was very,

very, um, nice. I have nothing against

him, and I actually found the videos he

made about me to be very funny and

enjoyable to watch. My problem is how he

called me the Asian Onision, and now

everyone thinks of me as the Asian

Onision, and I'm not very happy with that.

Okay, so firstly, I'm not even Asian. I'm

only half Asian. Calling me Asian would be

like calling a dolphin a fish when it's

not. My dad was white, so I'm half white,

half Asian. I would appreciate it if he

changed the title to the half-white,

half-Asian Onision, if he's gonna call me

something. I don't like being called the

anything Onision because Onision is one of

the most hated, disliked people on all of

YouTube, and I don't like him either. I

think he's annoying, his content is really

bad, and I don't want to be compared to

someone like that. But now, thanks to

Elvis the Alien's 2 videos calling me

Asian Onision. Everyone thinks of me as

the Asian Onision, and I'm going to tell

you why I'm nothing like Onision. Okay,

so first of all, if you look at Onision's

channels, he mainly does videos and

content where he dresses up as some kind

of character— Batman, the Joker, a banana—

and then he jumps up and down, screams and

shouts, or he does some kind of musical

video where he sings. Or he does a skit

using fake weapons. Do I do any of those

things? I don't dress up. I don't sing. I

don't use fake guns. I don't dress up as

Batman. I don't do acting. My content and

Onision's content is completely different.

My channel is kind of like video diaries

where I just talk about what's happening

in my life, or I talk about past

experiences or past relationships, or I

talk about problems I'm having. There's no

skits, there's no acting, there's no

dressing up in costumes. So how can you

even possibly say my content is anything

like Onision's? Okay, okay, Onision also

talks about relationships and problems

he's having, but then so does pretty much

every single other YouTuber. Most

YouTubers have made at least a few videos

talking about personal things, and there's

loads and loads and loads of YouTubers who

make storytime videos or talk about

relationships. Does that mean we're all

like Onision? I don't think so. So you

might be thinking, Daniel, we're not

comparing your content to his content,

we're saying that you're like him

personality-wise. And I think that's a

load of rubbish as well. I think— I just

don't see how Onision is anything like me

when it comes to personality. I've noticed

some people saying that we're both

manipulative, and I think that's such a

silly thing to, to compare people with.

Unfortunately, we live in a society where

manipulation is just something people do

on a daily basis. People learn how to

manipulate before they even learn how to

walk or talk. Children cry and they have

tantrums so they can manipulate their

parents and get what they want. Everyone

manipulates everyone. For example, you go

into a shop and the sales assistant tries

to sell you something. He's trying to

manipulate you into buying his product.

Or a political candidate does a speech.

He's trying to manipulate you into voting

for him and liking him. I'm trying to

manipulate you now by explaining things so

you can understand my viewpoint.

Manipulation is just a part of life. I'm

not saying it's a good thing. I'm not

saying manipulation is good. It's just a

part of how our society works. Yes,

sometimes I do manipulate people, but then

so do you, and so does your mum. I guess

that means we're all Onision. Actually,

people started comparing me to Onision way

before Elvis the Alien made his video on

me, and I actually added the word Onision

to my block— blocked words list because I

didn't want people to be Comparing me to

someone like that.

And now everyone just thinks of me as the

Asian Onision, and I don't want to become

Onision. I don't think I'm like him. I can

see maybe a few similarities here and

there, but I really don't think that I'm

like him in general, and I don't want to

become like him because everyone hates

him, and I don't want everyone to hate me.

So maybe I'm missing something. Maybe it's

nothing to do with manipulation or our

content. Maybe I've completely missed the

point and there's other things, there's

other reasons why people compare him to

me. And I'm just wondering, is it too late

for me to change direction and not become

more like him? Because I really don't want

to become like him. And if everyone's

saying that I'm like him, maybe,

maybe they're right. Maybe I'm wrong and

maybe everyone else has the right idea

about things. So if you have any tips or

pointers on how I could avoid becoming

like him, I would love to hear those

tips. And even though I'm complaining

a lot about being called the Asian

Onision, I'm actually very, very grateful

that Elvis the Adian made 2 videos about

me because it's, it's given me a lot of

new subscribers and extra views.

And, um, it's kind of exciting when

bigger YouTubers make videos about you.

I'm so close to getting 100,000

subscribers, and I really appreciate Elvis

the Alien's videos because it's, um, it's

helped me gain a couple thousand,

and it's helped me get a little bit closer

to that that goal, that target,

I don't know what this river is called,

but over there is the city of Osaka.

Where's that sky building?

I'm out of breath, give me a second.

Okay, so this building that I'm pointing

at is the famous Sky Building Umeda—

Sky Building observation deck. I've been

up there a few times on Tinder dates.

Why else would I go up there? The only

reason I'd go up there would be for Tinder

dates. First time was in 2010. I went up

there with my Korean girlfriend. And then

a couple years ago when I was on Tinder,

I had a few dates. We went up there.

Very nostalgic. I've never walked along

this river before. It's quite nice

actually. One of the nice things about

living in Japan is you have these rivers,

and it's only about 2 minutes, 2 minutes

from my Airbnb. My Airbnb is somewhere

over there.

And just walk 2 minutes down the road and

then you've got this lovely river you can

walk up and down. It's very relaxing.

It's a bit windy today. It's a bit

windy, a bit sunny. I think I'm gonna get

sunburnt. Sunburned. Sunburnt? I don't

know which one is correct. Who cares?

It's quite nice for jogging.

Riding your bicycle. There's a weird

concrete structure over here.

Not sure what this is.

And there's lots of kids playing football.

Look at this structure, it's very weird.

What is it? I don't know how well you can

see it from here, but there's a walkway

and it's, it's locked.

It looks like no one's used it for years

and years. I don't even know if it's

locked. Maybe you can open it. I don't

really want to.

Very strange. Oh look,

that Ferris wheel. I don't know if you can

see it. But there's a Ferris wheel.

That's the famous Hep 5 Ferris wheel of

Osaka. I went on a few dates there as

well. It's quite funny because I took this

Japanese woman onto it and she had a fear

of heights. I said, do you want to go on

the Ferris wheel? And she said, oh, I

don't know, I'm a bit scared of heights.

And then I kind of made her go on it

anyway, and then she was having some kind

of breakdown. On the Ferris wheel, and

then I tried kissing her.

It wasn't one of my best ideas.

Can you imagine living here in this

apartment, and then you have

this view when you wake up in the morning?

It'll be pretty nice.

Oh look, there's an aeroplane. You

probably can't see it because the GoPro

has such a wide angle that you can't

really see small things. There's a huge

airplane landing.

I don't even know if you can hear me,

it's so windy. Who cares, no one's

watching this bit anyway.

Very nice blue sky.
