my life is a mess -(

Ahem. So it's been over

a week since I moved into my new

apartment, and this place has been a

complete nightmare. As you can see, it's

still freezing cold because the boiler has

not been fixed, and now there's no hot

water because the boiler started leaking.

And it started leaking about 4 days ago

now. And yesterday they said they made an

appointment for someone to come and fix

it. And no one came yesterday. I don't

understand how you can make an appointment

with someone to come and see something and

then they don't even show up. And I kept

messaging her saying, no one's here yet.

Are they still coming? Are they still

coming? And then she kept saying, I'll

check. And he may be, maybe he's coming.

How can he maybe coming? He's either

coming or he's not going to come.

I don't understand.

It's just so frustrating and

annoying because I didn't really mind that

the heating wasn't working. The heating

stopped working about a week ago and it

wasn't too bad because I lived in Japan

for 2 years and this is kind of what it

was like in Japan. There was no central

heating in Japan either and we just had

this little electric heater. So I could

just buy a little electric heater and

it'll be fine. And it hasn't really been

that cold anyway. I open the curtains and

I let the sunlight come in and warm up the

place and it was fine. But there was hot

water until a few days ago and I haven't

had a shower in 2 days now.

And the way I've been washing is I boil

some water in the kettle and And then I

use a towel to wipe myself. And I'm

not really sure how I'm going to have a

shower today and wash my hair. I haven't

washed my hair for a few days now. I'm

thinking about boiling some water in the

wok and then adding some cold water and

then pouring it over myself. Maybe someone

will come today to fix it, but I don't

know now. I keep asking, when is someone

going to come and fix it? And then she

keeps saying, We, we made an appointment

for someone to come and then he doesn't

show up. I just don't understand how

difficult it is to get someone to come and

fix a stupid boiler. This is why I don't

like boilers. They just seem like they're

very unreliable. I remember my dad was

always fixing our boiler and it kept going

wrong and then he had to take it apart.

It just seems like a very unreliable

mechanism. And I haven't done an apartment

tour. I haven't showed the apartment yet

because I don't really want people to find

out where I'm living and then get in

contact with the owner somehow and then

get me into trouble. I've got all these

stupid, annoying trolls and haters who

think they're funny trying to get me into

trouble. And I'm not sure

now. I'm starting to get fed up with the

place and I'm starting to think maybe I'll

just show it anyway. It doesn't matter if

I get in trouble, if they kick me out,

maybe I'll get my deposit back and I find

somewhere nicer. But this place is nice.

It looks nice. It's newly renovated.

But the problem is the stupid boiler keeps

going wrong. There's no heating, there's

no hot water. It takes ages to get them to

come and fix it. And then the people

upstairs are so noisy. I don't know how

many people are living up there. It seems

like there's at least 6 people I've seen.

I met 3 of them because they knocked on my

door and they said hello. And then there

was this kid who dropped something in my

garden and had to come inside to go and

get his earphones. And then I saw another

2 people walk out of it. So there's at

least 5 or 6 people living up there and

one really fat woman. And I can hear

every single footstep when they walk

around up there. And then there's a kid

that's running up and down sometimes. It

must be a kid because the footsteps sound

The sound between each footstep is

shorter, so I'm assuming that she has

short legs and she's running around. But

anyway, yeah, it's really noisy, and even

the capsule hotel was quieter. And I can

just hear every sound they make up there,

and they're very noisy. Even up until 1 AM

in the morning, they're still walking

around and banging, and sometimes it

sounds like they're dragging furniture

around. It's just really noisy, and I'm

also right next to a big busy road, which

means I can hear traffic constantly all

day long. The cars aren't really too bad,

it's the, the mopeds, the scooter

motorbike things that are really noisy.

And to make matters worse, I just Googled

this neighborhood and apparently it's the

4th most dangerous and problematic

neighborhood in all of the Netherlands.

It also has a 60% majority immigrant

population. I don't know if that has any

connection with it being the 4th most

dangerous neighborhood. So that kind of

explains why I got attacked on the first

day I moved in here in broad daylight.

Also, when Mila came over to stay, we went

to this shopping center and we just walked

past this big fat black woman and we

didn't even do anything or look at her and

she just tutted at us as we walked past

her. The people here are just kind of

intimidating, rude, and unnecessarily

aggressive. It's like they just want to

start a fight for no reason. The only good

things about this place is that it looks

nice on the inside. It's pretty spacious

as well. It's, um, it's slightly

bigger. I would say it's about 20% bigger

than the apartments I had in Japan. So

there's 2 There's 2 main big rooms,

and I put everything into one room because

I don't really need the second room. Uh,

there's the kitchen area, and then there's

this sofa that I'm sitting on. There's a

desk and a table with a television, and

then there's shower and toilet. And then

in the other room, there's just nothing

because I don't really need that much

space. So it is very nice and spacious. I

don't feel cramped and suffocated. And the

rent is really cheap. So the rent is only

about £1,000 a month,

£1,000 including utilities,

water, electricity, gas. But there's

no hot water or heating,

and I can't get them to send anyone to

come and fix the bloody thing.

So yeah, the heating isn't really a big

problem because I can just wrap up. But

having a shower, how am I supposed to have

a shower? Some people said, why don't you

just have a cold shower? Because I'm not

crazy. Why would I want to have a cold

shower? It's just horrible. I can't even

force myself to have a cold shower because

it's so uncomfortable. The most I can do

is maybe I could rinse my head under the

tap in cold water, but there's no way I

could cover my entire body in cold

water. It's just kind of annoying because

I don't really know how I'll— how I could

find a better place because

I would have to stay in the place for at

least 3 months. You have to sign some kind

of contract to get an apartment,

otherwise they won't let you live in it.

And then you don't really know what the

place is really like until you've moved in

and lived in there for a few days. You

could go and see the place and check it

out like I did here, but you can't really

tell. When I came to check out this place,

it seemed fine. It didn't really seem

noisy. There was— I didn't know there was

going to be any problems with the heating

and the hot water. I think the problem is

that they've, they've renovated the place

and, and fixed up themselves, and I don't

really know if they're professionals or

not. And they haven't really done a great

job fixing up the hot water lines and the

heating, and it keeps going wrong. And now

there's a big puddle where the boiler is

because it started leaking and these weird

noises started coming out from it like it

was exploding from the inside. So yeah,

life in my new apartment is not that

great, and I don't really know what to do.

Even if I got kicked out and even if I got

my deposit back, Where would I move to?

My only other options would be find a new

apartment, get stuck in another contract,

and it might be a crappy place again, or

pay double the amount I'm paying now so I

can stay in some kind of hotel apartment

place like a serviced apartment. I just

don't really know if I'm willing to spend

that much money, or I could just live in a

hotel. For a bit more than I'm paying now,

but then there's no kitchen. So how am I

supposed to get food sorted out unless I

just have ham sandwiches all day long?

Maybe a hotel could be possible. I could

just get a kettle and boil water, cook

noodles, maybe get a little grill. I don't

know if I'd get kicked out of the hotel

for cooking food in the hotel room. Maybe

I would. But the thing is, when you don't

have a kitchen, the price of buying

food would become very expensive because

you can't cook food. You would have to buy

Uber Eats and instant food and prepared

food that's already made at the

supermarket. After living here for a bit

and realizing how expensive it is to have

your own apartment in Europe and how

unreliable it is and how unpleasant the

people people are around me, it kind of

makes me feel like I took for granted how

great my apartment was back in Japan,

where it was less than half the price I'm

paying now. It was way better. There were

never any problems with the hot water,

not once, and you couldn't even hear the

neighbors. For the 2 years I lived in

Japan, I can't even remember a time when

The neighbors were noisy and they were

banging and making noise. I didn't even

hear anything from the people who lived

above us. It was like there were no other

people living in that building. Everyone

was just really quiet, really considerate,

didn't run and jump inside of the

apartments, and the place never went

wrong. The only time it went— actually,

it did go wrong once. There was this one

time, don't know if anyone remembers,

when In the first apartment I lived in in

Japan, the ceiling started dripping water,

leaking water. And then these firemen and

repairmen had to come and water was

dripping out of the smoke alarm sockets

and they had to fix that. But they came

straight away and they fixed it in just a

few hours and then everything was fine.

It didn't take days and days and days.

And then everyone in the comments section

were having a go at me because I was

sitting on the bed filming it whilst my

ex-wife was sorting it out and handling

it. They were saying stuff like, Daniel,

you're the man, why are you just hiding in

the bed? Why don't you deal with the

people like a proper real man? So stupid,

as if I would do that when she's the

native Japanese speaker and I would just

have difficulties understanding everything

they were explaining to me. This wouldn't

make sense if I tried to take control of

the situation when she would be able

to take control of the situation way more

efficiently than I ever could. So yeah,

that was a bit of an update on why my life

sucks at the moment. What else sucks?

If I could just get hot water, I wouldn't

be complaining so much, but I really like

having my hot showers And being able to

clean myself is something that makes me

happy. Um,

I guess one good thing is I'm really happy

with this microphone. It sounds

really good and it only costs about £20,

and you can clip it onto anything, even

this wooden spoon, and it actually

sounds pretty good. I would even say it

sounds as good as my professional mic that

I used to use. Remember when I used to use

that Blue Yeti microphone and it sounded

really good, but then I stopped using it

because it was too heavy to carry around

in my bag? I think this is actually very

good. It weighs barely anything. It was

really cheap.

Yeah, I'm really pleased with this

microphone. It's probably one of the best

microphones I've had.
