Why i Regret Buying Diablo 4

Hello, welcome back to a new video. So

recently I've been playing a lot of Diablo

4, currently level 50 on my Barbarian

character as you can see, and I wanted to

talk about a few things that I kind of

don't like about the game, problems I have

with the game, things I just wish

generally didn't exist in the game and

hope they fix later on. So first of all,

I have a big problem with the open world

world event things when you have a little

orange timer thing, you go there to do a

big boss battle with a bunch of other

online players. I have a lot of problems

with game, it gets really laggy and slow

and I get connection problems. And the

problem is when you log out or you get

disconnected, there's no attempt to

reconnect. You get logged out, the game

shuts down, you've got to relaunch the

game, re-log into the game. By the time

I've done all that, the boss battle is

usually over. So there was this one time I

was lagging really badly, so I thought,

okay, I'll just switch over to a different

internet connection which might be faster.

And while switching internet connections,

it just boots me out of the game because

obviously to switch internet connection

for a millisecond, there's going to be no

connection. But instead of giving me a

chance to be able to reconnect quickly and

log back in, it just shuts down the entire

game, which is so annoying. By the time I

logged back in, like I said earlier, the

entire boss battle was finished. I missed

out on all the loot, and it was just

really frustrating. That brings me on to

my next point. The game is for the most

part fine stability-wise, but then

sometimes, especially during peak hours,

my game gets very laggy. So if you press

Ctrl+R and press R again, you see my

latency even now just standing around not

really doing anything. I've got like 200

latency. Now my internet's not bad. I've

got a 5G SIM card that I'm using as a

hotspot to connect to my laptop, and

usually I'm around 150 to 200

milliseconds. I guess that's what it

means. And I don't really get a lot of

lag, but then sometimes when I'm doing

like a boss battle, open world boss

battle, or in some kind of town, it does

lag a lot and I rubber band all over the

place. It's really frustrating because The

game is online and permanently connected

to servers, and you can't play offline.

It would be nice if they made it an

offline game as well and give you the

option to join into online servers when

you want to. So far, 95% of my gameplay

experience has been solitary. Like, I'm

off, I'm alone, as if I'm playing an

offline game, but I'm suffering from all

this lag as if it was an online game.

It's weird. It looks like an offline game,

but it behaves like an online game. It's

been a real pain in the backside with

progress. For example, I was trying to

fight a boss around 8 PM in the evening,

which is around peak time, I guess.

People finish work, they come home, they

want to game, and the game was so laggy I

could not beat the boss. It was really

annoying because I was so close to beating

the boss, but then it would lag out and I

would just get attacked all at once

because I can't move out of the way whilst

it's lagging, and I had to give up and

just restart my computer, log out, come

back in like half an hour, and then the

lag was a bit better, and then I could

finally beat the boss. I know the game's

new and maybe they're having problems with

too many players and there's not enough

servers and the servers are being

overloaded, but they should have created

some extra servers just in case. They

should be able to know how many players

they're going to get on launch. It reminds

me of New World. Remember when New World

came out There was so much hype around

that game and so many people were trying

to play it at the same time. There was a

queue of thousands of people and you had

to wait like an hour in a login queue.

And that was just so pathetic. They should

have expected that there would be

thousands of people. They should have been

able to figure that out based on how much

hype there was around the game and create

some extra servers. I don't see why it

would cost them more money just to like

copy and paste some servers. So that more

people can play. Anyway, the game died and

New World is like a dead game now. No one

plays it. But when everyone wanted to play

it, most people probably had a crappy

experience because of all the lag and the

queues. So I really feel like the lag has

kind of ruined my experience. I've had a

really great time in the game and I would

have given it an 8.2 out of 10, but

because of the lag issues, I would give it

like a 6.2 out of 10 now. My next

problem has to be with the story. So I

just heavily grinded the story for a few

days, and I wasn't really paying attention

to what was happening in the story. I

skipped a lot of the cutscenes, didn't

really notice what was happening until you

go down to hell and it plays that cool

movie-like cutscene with Inarius and

Lilith. And then I thought, wow, this is

really cool. I might learn some more. I

might do some research about the lore and

the story of this game, because now that

cutscene has kind of sold it to me, and I

was really looking forward to like

continuing the story, finding out what

happens next. After that cutscene, you do

one quest to go to the Cathedral of Hatred

and go to Mephistos, and you end

up killing him and putting him in this

crystal. And then you fight Lilith, who is

like the final big bad boss, and I

thought it would take ages until I can

actually beat Lilith because she's going

to be the endgame boss, the hardest boss,

and I'll be needing maximum level and all

these epics and all this skill. And what

happens in reality is you end up fighting

her twice because she has 2 phases,

and it didn't even take like 30 minutes

after I figured out the patterns and the

movement sets. It was such an easy fight,

and I'm on World Tier 2, so I thought

there'd be some challenge. So I defeat

Lilith And it was so anticlimactic. And

after you finish fighting her, you just go

off to find that black girl who just goes

off without saying anything. And then

there's a bit of a cutscene where she just

sails off into the horizon, and that's it.

The story's finished. That's it, it's

over. And then you just have nothing to

do. It just says, whilst Lilith has been

defeated, you still have a whole world of

creatures to fight against and monsters to

do battle. Try leveling up in the next

world tier and leveling up your character.

Okay, but it just feels like, what's the

point now that I've defeated Lilith? What

is my purpose here? Okay, I can get to

level 100. I can go to world tier 3. I can

make my character even stronger. But why?

It just feels like I'm in this world after

the main story has finished and I don't

even know what I'm doing here anymore.

What is the point? So without the campaign

and the main story to motivate you,

you're kind of just left to your own

devices and it feels like, okay, well,

you finished the main story, I guess just

do whatever you want. Here are some, here

are some challenges like collect Grim

Favors. So you collect, you fight these

things at these areas and you collect Grim

Favors, and then you go to the Tree of

Whispers, Whispers, and then you'll get a

box full of loot, and sometimes it has

legendary items. And then you just do

that, go, go here, go there, fight these

red marks on the map, collect the Grim

Favors, grind back at the tree whilst also

doing side quests. There's like an

unlimited amount of side quests. There's

so many damn side quests, but they're all

boring fetch quests like go here, find the

supplies, collect 5 plants, find this

person that I've lost, help me do this.

For example, here's one: gather spirit

anima from the undead. Here's more that I

couldn't be bothered doing: find the

stolen supplies with Orton. And then you

just run around in random circles within

this circle trying to find the stolen

supplies. Which I couldn't find and got

bored. This one collects a red mushroom

from Lemire. Again, you got to explore

this entire area just to find a stupid

mushroom. So you got the Grim Favors to

collect, you got the side quests, and then

also dungeons where you unlock the

aspects. And that's basically it—

dungeons, running around in the wilderness

trying to find random objects, or do the

world events and the world bosses. Trying

to get new gear that will make your

character 2% stronger so you can go up in

the difficulty levels, so you can get

extra XP, bonus gear,

and then go up to the World Tier 4. And

then just like an internal, eternal,

never-ending grind. The story is based on

this theme of angels and demons fighting

this never-ending war called the Eternal

Conflict. This game is like the eternal

farming loot grind that never ends.

So yeah, after playing for I don't know

how many hours— I played it over the week

and the weekend almost every day, so maybe

I have like 50 hours in it so far— I kind

of regret buying it cuz it was $70 and

basically you just get a grind fest. And

after you finish the main story, unless

you really care about improving your

character and becoming the most powerful

barbarian in the universe and defeating

every single thing in the game and just

min-maxing your stats, then I don't know

if you would actually enjoy this game.

Every time I finish the story mode in a

game, no matter what kind of game, like an

open world game, I usually lose interest

in the game. I don't care how many

hundreds of boring side quests there are.

I don't care about collecting every

achievement or every trophy. After the

main story is done, I'm kind of done with

game because it's just like the end of the

book. Do you carry on reading a book when

it's finished? Do you? I mean, are you the

kind of person who finishes a book and

then just reads the last pages where it's

giving credits to people? Or do you watch

a movie and then the movie ends? Are you

the kind of person who just sits there

watching all the credits? Because that's

what Diablo 4 is like. You finish the main

story in— it will take a few days, I

think. And then the only reason you'd

carry on playing is if you actually care

about making your character really OP and

getting to endgame. And endgame has no

story. It's just like endgame super hard

nightmare dungeons where you get even more

powerful gear. And then what? What is the

end goal? I don't see what the end goal of

this is. Imagine I get the most powerful

gear, I can one-shot everything, I am a

god. Okay, then what? Then am I finished

with the game? I guess so.
