Why I don’t like Korean Girls - Dating in Korea Problems

It's very difficult dating in Korea

because all the bloody Korean girls think

they're the best thing that came out of

you know what. They think they're so

amazing. Women in Korea have

a very— they think way too highly of

themselves. They think they're all so

great. Japanese women are more down to

earth and more humble. I don't like Korean

girls. If you want to get successful with

a Korean girl, you gotta look good and

you've got to dress good and you've got to

be rich. You need to drive a car, you need

to work at Samsung, you need to have a

university degree. Ugh, who the hell do

they think they are? What about them?

What do they do apart from doing their

makeup and staring into a mirror all day

long, doing their hair?

Don't like Korean girls. In Korea,

they automatically think you're a failure

if you haven't gone to university. They

already automatically look down on you and

judge you if you say you don't— you didn't

go to university.

They're so judgmental and vain. I can't

imagine dating a Korean girl. Japanese

girls are nicer. Japanese girls are sweet

and gentle and nice, and they're not all

judgy, and they don't care about

their looks so much. Korea has like

this toxic K-pop kind of culture,

plastic surgery culture. I'm just not

really that into Thai girls. I'm not into

the whole Thailand-Philippine scene.

So yeah, that's why I think Japan is the

best. That's why I always go to Japan.

That's why I always plan

to go to Japan instead of different

countries. I have been to different

countries, but I always end up missing

Japan the most or liking Japan the

best. It's the safest country.

It's Got a nice atmosphere in the

cities. The Korean cities just feel

depressing. Everywhere looks so cold and

artificial, and everyone looks so stressed

out and overworked.

And I don't know, there's like this—

either there's like a dirty industrial

feeling in Korea, or there's this really

futuristic cold, soulless feeling.

In Japan, the city's all nice and warm and

welcoming, and there's

like a feel-good vibe, I think. I also

got kind of— I got scared

to buy food in Korea because If

you don't— if you don't reply to them in

Korean, they seem kind of annoyed.

So I ended up— every time I went to buy

food, I started carrying around my own

plastic bags because one time I went to

buy food and she asked me if I wanted a

bag and I said yes, but then she didn't

give me one. And then she looked really

miserable and irritated, and I was scared

to ask for one.

And apparently yes means no in Korea.

It's like they ask you in a backwards

negative way. They say, do you not want a

bag? So you have to say no. So that means

yes. If you say yes, then it means yes, I

do not want one, and they won't give you

one. So I had to carry all my shopping in

my hands. Like this all the way back to my

hotel. I felt so stupid.

Korean— some Korean people can be very

scary. She seemed pissed off that I

tried to speak English. At first I said

sorry because I didn't understand, and

then she just repeated the same thing just

as fast. If I didn't catch it the first

time, what makes you think I'll catch it

the second time?

So I started getting anxiety just going to

buy food, but I didn't feel like

that in Japan. I feel like people were

kinder. Customer service is way

So my, my solution was to go around

carrying the plastic bag. So when they're

doing the scanning, I'll get my bags out

so they can see that I've got my own bag.

That way they don't ask you if you want a

bag. So you don't have to say anything.

But then if you forget your bag, then

you're kind of screwed.

Very difficult.

I miss shopping when Chihiro

just did everything. I just stood there

and then she did all the talking.

Life was better back then.

from people being in your life. Than
