Vlogging on Samsung s6 in south korea trip - Air Pollution is bad today!

The air pollution isn't as bad as it was

yesterday, so you can actually see the

mountain in the distance, but it's still

pretty bad.

Bus driver is crazy. Felt like the bus was

gonna fall apart. I hate buses.

Air pollution's so bad today, we had to

buy masks. Apparently most of it comes

from China, but there are a lot of

factories around the city as well. And

there's a lot of traffic. Don't understand

why people drive cars when they could just

get on the train. Guys, look, I got a

mask. What do you think? It's either

wear a mask or get lung cancer. It's hard

to breathe in this and it keeps fogging up

my glasses.

There's army guys behind me. They're going

to the toilet. I don't know how effective

it is wearing a mask. I read that if there

are gaps around it, then you aren't really

going to get any benefits from it. It's

kind of sad that we messed up the planet

so much we can't even go outside without

having to wear a mask now. Back in

the UK, we don't have this problem, so I

guess you kind of take fresh air for

granted. Right now we're going to Lake

Park. It's a park with a big

lake in the middle, hence the name. It

takes about an hour to walk there from

where I live, so we got on the bus.

The bus of death. That bus driver's a

maniac. The way he drove was so

aggressive, like the whole bus flew into

the air every time it went over a bump.

I thought we were gonna die. This is where

we are now. This is the lake at

Lake Park.

So hard to breathe with this on. I'm gonna

have to take it off. So many people

today. We're actually walking on the

bicycle lane because for some reason

they've shut down the pedestrian footpath.

See, there's all tape. Take off that mask,

it's so difficult to breathe. But look

where we're entering, the Toilet

Exhibition Culture Hall.

Amazing. I wonder what kind of toilets

we're gonna see. Look, it's actually a

museum for toilets. It's a toilet museum.

Why? Why is there a museum for toilets?

We're inside the museum for toilets.

Here are all the different toilets

throughout the ages. So we went

from throwing shit out into the streets to

shitting into a hole in a box. Then we

have our chamber pots. Then we get up to

the 19th century, we have actual toilets.

Even excrements have an quality. They've

even got fossilized Excrement here.

I have no idea what's going on in this

scene, but it's very disturbing. So that

was the end of the toilet expedition.

hungry after watching all those toilets,

seeing all those toilets. And here behind

us is the lake, the lake of Lake

Park. I can't really see much because of

the air pollution.

In the winter, the whole lake gets frozen.

it. This is the middle of the lake. There

are a lot of people here. Usually I

wouldn't feel comfortable making videos

while being surrounded by people, but for

some reason, wearing sunglasses, it gives

you confidence. I don't know why, it's

like you can hide your identity. Look at

all these boats that no one's riding or

sailing, or is it driving? We came all the

way from that side of the lake, we went

all the way around and then back here.

It's halfway around. Feet still

kind of ache from yesterday. My legs don't

ache, it's just my feet, the bottom, the

sole, feet sole. There's more tape behind

me. Why is everything taped off? It's like

someone, someone's been murdered. So we

finished walking around the lake. Now I

think we're gonna get something to eat.

Kind of hungry. Crossing the road.

We're gonna get Vietnamese food.

Vietnamese food in Korea.

I never tried Vietnamese food before.

Doesn't really look appealing to me, but

give it a try. Oh look, they got that

curry place they have in Japan, the Coco

Curry place. Pho restaurant.

I have no idea what any of this is. It

looks very colorful.

They gave us bean sprouts, green stuff, a

lemon. Is that tomato?

No. Carrots, onions, green chili.

Look, there's a drawer where they keep the

spoons. Slides under the table.

It's mine. Only took about 5

minutes. It's really fast.

Don't really know what it is. It's like

beef with fried rice.

Take the train now. It's actually

faster by bus, but I don't like the bus.

I'd rather ride the train even if it takes

twice, twice the time. It's just

more comfortable. This is Madu

Station. This means horse. This means

head. Horsehead Station.

Waiting for the train.

but it still looks nice.

device. This is what you choose the song

on. It's so old-fashioned compared to the

one in Japan. In Japan, you get a

touchscreen. Here, you just get a load of

buttons.

Microphone. I don't know what this does.

I don't know why there are 6 screens. You

only need one. In Korea, they give you

a huge book to look up the songs. It's so

We had to change rooms because the room we

were in before, the speakers were too loud

and they're playing porn on the screens.

Two hours

later and we finished going home now.

I think I broke my voice. We sang for

about two hours, but it's really hard to

sing because the music's so loud. You need

a really powerful voice if you have a like

a soft voice, then the music just drowns

out your voice and you can't really hear

what you're saying. So you end up having

to shout and you can't really sing

properly. So difficult to find your song

because you have to flip through this

massive book. In Japan you have like a

touchscreen and just enter the song title

or the band name and it looks it up for

you. I don't know why it's so

old-fashioned here. And all the songs are

listed alphabetically by the name of the

song, not by the name of the band. So you

need to know the song name before you

come, otherwise you end up wasting loads

of time looking through that book. It's so

funny because on the screen this like

pornographic video kept playing on the

monitors, and then we had to call the old

woman to come in, the owner, and she had

to like change, change the video that was

playing on the screen. But they've got

Fruit and Fiber here as well, and they put

stickers over— they put stickers over the

box. To hide the information. Why? It's

only on fruit and fiber cereal. On the

other cereal, there's no tape. They hide

that, that little text that says fortified

with vitamins and iron. I don't know why

they do it. I kind of regret buying that

super zoom camera now. I kind of stopped

using it. I'm just using my phone.

There's not really any difference between

the video quality on both of the cameras.

All you get extra on the super zoom camera

is the zoom capability. But if you use

your phone, you can use a microphone like

I'm using now, and the sound sounds a lot

better than just using the internal

microphone. So I think I kind of made a

mistake buying that. I don't know if I'm

going to use it again.

I actually think my phone looks better in

dark— in the dark, in low light, than the

superzoom camera does. And it's so much

easier to carry, just slip it into your

pocket. You don't have to have this big

bulky camera, and it doesn't feel weird.

If you're walking around a supermarket

with a camera, it feels kind of weird.

Also, when using a camera, you have to use

an SD card, and when you're transferring

the files from the SD card to the phone,

there's a small chance that they can get

corrupted and you lose all your photos and

pictures. It's so irritating.

But if you take the video on your phone,

you don't have that problem because it's

all stored on your phone straight away.

Okay, so we're back. I just finished

editing the video. I thought it was quite

a good video, but today really made me

think about air pollution. I've never

really had it affect me before because

back at home in the UK, I live in the

countryside, so You don't really have air

pollution problems in the countryside,

but coming to a city and

just seeing how, how much it affects

the visibility, and it can really mess up

your throat and your nose. It makes you

cough. I heard that someone said that— no,

I read something on the internet that said

in Beijing, breathing in the air is the

equivalent of smoking one cigarette an

hour. That's crazy. I don't

know why, why there's such a huge problem.

If people just stopped driving cars, if

they just built more trains and improved

the public transport services, then you

wouldn't have to have so many cars on the

road. I don't know why people drive cars

in a city when the public transport's

already pretty good.
