I, I caught a mosquito last night. It was eating my leg and I slapped it, killed it, and it was squished on my finger and I scraped it off and I put it in the fish tank and the neon tetra just went for it, tore it apart. Savage. They just devoured it, and the mosquito is not that

much bigger than the baby shrimp. The baby shrimp are pretty fast. They flick the tail and they just teleport. It's like they just instantly flick away, so I think they're fast enough to escape.

So one of the fish had a tasty mosquito. I counted about 10 baby shrimp. There's probably more hiding, but I'm worried they're getting eaten by my fish. But I've never seen them get eaten, so I think it's okay.

It should take like 4 months for them to get to adult size.

It is very fun and interesting having a fish tank and then just seeing life happen and develop and babies getting hatched and growing up. It's just annoying because they keep eating each other. I had a betta fish and it ate one of my shrimp whole, just completely devoured it.

Was I paranoid when I got HIGH? Yeah, it was— yeah, this is what the stream was supposed to be about, my experience getting HIGH. It was the worst feeling I've ever had. I thought I was gonna cry. It was very scary.

Thai people eat papaya mango when it's unripe. Yeah, they like the crunchy and sour taste. My girlfriend always eats this fruit. It looks like a pear, like a green crunchy pear that's not even sweet. It's kind of crunchy and raw tasting, and then she dips it into a bag of salt. It is the weirdest thing ever. It's

just— I don't get it. Thai people have very strange idea of what good food is.

I think the idea of spice is the pain releases endorphins, which makes you feel good. And then people get off on the endorphins.

Because spice is just like a chemical. It's called capsaicin. It's created by the chili plant. And the whole reason why the chili plant creates capsaicin is to deter mammals from eating it because mammals eat chilli and then they grind up the seeds, which prevents the seeds from being dispersed because it's just like grinded up. They want birds

to eat the seeds and disperse it. So capsaicin is like a biological defense mechanism to stop mammals because mammals have a specific, specific taste receptor. To feel pain when they come into contact with capsaicin. But birds don't have this taste receptor, so birds can just chow down on chili and don't feel anything.

So it's kind of weird that humans like the sensation of, of being burned.

be eaten. They don't want to be eaten in the same way animals don't want to be eaten.

Most things in the world don't want to be eaten because,

Thailand has way better condos. You should see my condo, it's amazing. And the building of the condo is, is so nice. It's got this— we've got a massive swimming pool. That I can use for free anytime I want to. I just go downstairs to the lower floor. It's got a massive gym, dumbbells, machines. It's got— I think

it's got a sauna. It's got a swimming pool. I can just go for a swim like I'm living at a hotel resort. No apartments in Japan have a swimming pool because the country is cold. So you want to go swimming and go to the gym? You gotta sign up to a gym and you gotta pay for it

and you gotta find a swimming center and go to the swimming center. I just go down the elevator and I can go for a swim. That alone is just— puts Thailand miles above Japan. The apartments in Japan are rubbish. They're just old and ugly and tiny.

Japanese apartments are depressing.

Unless it's a very modern building. A majority of Japanese apartments are very old buildings, like old neighborhood, just old people. Everything's brown and creamy looking, beige looking.

Thai apartments are so much better.

$500 a month, you can get a luxury apartment in the center of Bangkok. Swimming pool, gym, concierge,

get food delivered straight to your reception area.

And all the condos are like that in Thailand. This isn't rare in Thailand. Basically every condo in Thailand has a swimming pool and community,

We got ping pong table, got like a cinema room, got study room that I tell my girlfriend to go to when I need to make a video.

People are in a better mood and don't seem miserable. I actually saw 2 Japanese women on the train the other day middle-aged women, and they look miserable. They got like dead inside face. Like, they look like this.

But taxis are expensive in Japan. In Thailand, you just get a taxi and it's just a couple dollars and it's easy. There's taxis everywhere. I remember— oh yeah, I remember me and my girlfriend went to Kyoto and there was no train to get to the temple and you had to get a bus. And the whole place was

packed full of tourists and there was a massive queue of people to get into the bus. And the buses would come in and taking the people. And I was thinking, oh my God, if this was Thailand, we'd just jump into a taxi and go. But there were no taxis around this train station area. And I know if

we had to hunt down a taxi, it would be like ¥1,000. To get to where we wanted to go. And I had a bit of a rant saying, oh my god, if this was Thailand, there'd be taxis everywhere and it would cost like $2. But no, we have to get on the poverty peasant bus that's packed full

of tourists. There's only one time I used a taxi in Japan was when— when was it?

Yeah, I booked this Airbnb to make this fake video about getting kicked out by my wife. And I told my wife I was gonna get— I would be at the Airbnb at 3 PM. But on the same day, some Swedish girl, this viewer, messaged me and said, hey Daniel, I'm a fan of the channel, do you want

to hang out? And you know, I thought something might happen, so I said okay, let's hang out. Took her for lunch, tried to take her to a love hotel, she said no.

but I got kicked out for a few days and I had to beg to come back home.

Fish have gotten bigger now. I used to have to grind the fish pellets so they could eat it, but now they can eat the whole thing whole.

They used to be too small to be able to eat the whole thing.

Problem is I'm feeding them betta fish pellets because I used to have a betta fish, then it died, but I still have the food. But I think the betta fish pellets are made out of shrimp, so they've developed a taste for shrimp. This is not good because I got a load of baby shrimp in the tank.

Why can't you be this confident around other humans? I don't know. It's like, can you be as confident as you are right now in front of the King of England? If you met the King of England, I'm pretty sure you would be stuttering and kind of shy, and you'd be like, nice to meet you. People change. People

have different personalities based on who they're with. When you're by yourself, this is like your default personality. Your true personality, and then depending on who you're with, it changes. Like, you're with your girlfriend, you're not really going to be too different, but you're with your girlfriend's mother, then obviously you're going to change your behavior and not just

be like swearing and being weird.

So it's not like I'm being fake, it's just I act and behave differently depending on who I'm with. That's pretty normal.

I feel comfortable now and safe. I'm in my own home. I'm by myself. I am in charge. I'm in control of my environment right now. So yeah, I feel pretty confident and comfortable. In my own skin.

But yeah, I get kind of nervous and shy when I'm with people. I don't get this way when I'm with my girlfriend.

then we had to sell and then we moved to Indianapolis or whatever, dude. That's what it's like watching Americans interact. There were 4 Americans in my Thai class and And that was literally the entire conversation. Oh, hey man, where— what part you from?

And then they just start talking about the housing market all the time. Oh, interest rates made me sell my house in the housing market. They always talk about where they're from or where their family's from,

and then they'll start talking about interest rates or something. Every single time I see Americans meet another American,

it is— I'm not bashing it, I'm just saying it's funny.

It's like an observation I had.

I just, I find Americans interesting.

How come I'm the only British guy in the whole school? There's currently 2 Americans. There's this one old guy and this guy who's Korean, but he was born and raised in America, but

He also grew up in Korea. I don't know, I'm confused, but he says he's American, so whatever. And then he talks to the other American guy a lot, and they're always just talking about places in America, like states and houses.

And even the other Americans were just talking about like insurance and their rental properties. I think one of them has like a rental property company in America, but he lives in Thailand and he's retired and he just manages his business from Thailand. And he wanted to learn Thai because, I don't know, I think he wants to manage

property in Thailand, so he decided to learn Thai. There's no way that guy's ever speaking Thai. His Thai was so bad. Even after 20 days of learning, he could barely even say stuff like, what are you doing? Or I am eating lunch. He would just get the sentences wrong every time.

I really don't see that guy ever speaking Thai.

I'm a bit sad I never got to talk to the other American guy about stocks because he said he, he studied economics and he has a master's degree. So I wanted to ask him, like, what stocks would you recommend right now? But I didn't get to talk to him again. Just said hey before the class started.

I think I'm the best in the whole class.

I think I have the best pronunciation and I make the least mistakes. I still make a few mistakes,

just with tiny things. Like, the teacher asked me if there's any restaurants or any shops around where I live, and I said— I wanted to say there's nothing, So I said mai mi arai, and then I should have said mai mi ran arai. I don't know what I said was not wrong. I said mai mi arai, which

means there's nothing, but she wants me to say there's no shops. She said mai mi ran arai.

I didn't say anything wrong. I don't know why she's correcting me. Mai mi arai is very commonly said phrase in Thai,

so I don't think I did anything wrong.

But I'm struggling to concentrate recently because I'm not getting enough sleep. We're going to bed at 12 and I'm waking up at 6:30, and I feel so sleepy in class. Rolling the Rs. Yeah, you do that a lot in Thai.

It's like, hmm, what could be a good thing to say?

Yeah, they do that sound a lot. You don't have to do it, but to do proper pronunciation, you're supposed to do it. But most Thai people don't do it. Even my girlfriend doesn't do that, the R sound.

never really talked and we just walked past each other, not even say hi. It's so weird. He lives next to me. He's my neighbor. He took me and my family to the hospital when my dad was about to die.

Yeah, and then they'd make fun of me because I don't look like my uncle. And then he quit teaching and then he became a builder. Oh yeah, so I guess that is like working class.

Because he started doing building work.

Like, um, he would build people's conservatory or house extensions. Yeah, that is kind of working class, I guess, isn't it? Being a builder. But he didn't have those builder vibes. He had like a well-educated man vibes. Yeah, more money in building. That's exactly what he said. That's why he quit teaching, because there's way more money and way

more demand for builders. Teaching, teaching is pretty bad pay in the UK. Like, being a secondary school teacher doesn't pay a lot. Probably pays like £20K, £25K a year. And then he could probably make like £40K a year being a self-employed builder.

He built the garden cabin in my garden. My mum paid him.

And then I got another uncle. I don't know what he does, some kind of manager job. And then I have an uncle in Australia. He's a scientist. He does research with the big telescopes in Australia, so he does like what's the word, astronomical research for some research lab. I don't actually know what he does, something about space

and astronomy, and he does research with the big telescopes,

but I don't really know what he does now. Last time I saw him was 2019. He came over after my dad died to like see us and do some work around the house.

He's a nice guy. I was playing the piano and then he just came into the room and he burst into tears and hugged me. He's a cute guy. He's definitely the most emotional out of the uncles. I never— none of my uncles ever hugged me.

I don't know why he got so emo. He's just— because the piano, okay, there's some family history behind the piano. My grandfather bought that piano hoping that my uncles would learn to play it, but no one did. So it was like a very ancient antique piano that was always in the house. My mum got rid of it,

which kind of upset me. She just sold it and then got a new piano for my sister. But it was like a very old wooden upright piano, and it's always been in the house. It's kind of out of tune, but it sounded quirky. Your skin reminds me of the song I'm Blue. Oh, thanks. I'm blue. I look

like an avatar, Asian avatar. Yeah, so he probably got very emotional seeing me play the piano that his dad my grandfather bought for the family, and then he gave me a hug. I was pretty good at playing piano back then.

I could play the Lord of the Rings Shire intro music, and I could play— I could play some random classical music. I forgot what it was called. It's like Chopin, C minor. I can't remember.

I don't know how to play piano, but what I can do is I can memorize the keys you have to press to play the song. So I'd Google, how do you play The Shire, Lord of the Rings, and it'll show you which keys to press. And then I'll just memorize the keys because I got a pretty good

memory. When I put my mind to it. And I could just memorize all the keys to the point where I can add in my own keys to make the song more interesting sounding. And I would like add my own flair to the song and play it at a different tempo to how I like it. But when I

stopped playing, I completely forget. I just can't remember now. I would have to spend weeks memorizing it again. But I was really into piano back then. I was pretty good. Go on my Instagram, you can see me playing.

I played a few songs on Instagram,

but I can't read music and I don't really understand the— what they call the chords, like G, G chord. See, I don't know what that is. My sister's really good. My sister can read music and she knows how to do the chords, so she can create her own songs without copying anything. So she can actually play the

piano, unlike me. I can just mimic.

I don't have any musical talent,

but I think I'm pretty good at whistling. My girlfriend's always really impressed when I whistle.

Do you know any Chinese? Nope, I never bothered learning Chinese.

Unless I got a Chinese girlfriend, I wouldn't learn it. My mom speaks Cantonese,

but there's no point learning Cantonese to talk to my mom. Just talk talking English, and everyone in Malaysia and Hong Kong speaks English. The only places where Cantonese is used is Hong Kong and small community in Malaysia.

It's like a useless language to learn. Cantonese is just like a dialect of Mandarin that has changed so much that it sounds like a different

language. But I think the question— I mean, I think the sentence structure for Chinese is not too different to Thai. You got the question particle is ma, isn't it? When you ask a question in Chinese, it ends in ma. Ma, like shen ma.

that would reduce the blood pressure and help the thyroid. But then I think my sister said she wasn't eating, so they gave her some medication to make her eat, and then she ate and then she died. So I don't know what they did,

but I don't think Mimo should have died. I think she was too young, but there was some kind of accident with the medication and the thyroid complication. Toffee died because

I think he had cancer. Yeah, he had a tumor on his back leg, had to be amputated, and I think the cancer reappeared,

and then he just got weaker and weaker, lost weight, and then just ran out of energy.

It is sad. It's like they know— I think the cats definitely know what's going on, and they— they— oh my god, thanks for the follow. The cats definitely know, seem to know that they were about to die, because Toffee Before he died, he went out into the garden and it was like he was having one last stroll

around the garden. And then he came back into the house, went into his favorite room, and then just lay down. It was sad.

It was sad because my entire life that cat has always been in the house. It was a childhood cat. Been with us for 18 years and then it's just gone. People just go and then

the vibes and the atmosphere of the house completely changes. Used to be a happy home. My dad in the garden, the cats running around. But things don't last forever. Now I'm not blaming them.

You need to be able to make friends and you need to grow up in a stable environment, not flying to different

countries every month.

Have you ever known someone who grew up just constantly moving countries and changing schools? Have you met anyone like that who's actually happy and could say they had a good childhood? No, I think you need stability and make friends. How are you going to make friends when you keep moving every

month. I think it would be hard to make friends.

So the kid's gonna go to international school or Japanese school.

If he goes to international school, it'd just be a bunch of other gaijin kids. If he goes to a proper Japanese school, then he's— he could get bullied. Or he could just be treated like, like a freak show because he's like blonde hair, blue eyes, and all the kids want to take selfies with him.

It'll be like the ugly duckling phenomenon where you're treated differently because you look different. Even if you're treated well, they're still being treated differently.

Oh my God, if I had a baby, I think I'd have a mental breakdown.

Because I'm so broke. I just had to shell out $500 for my school,

and that's like my entire— nearly my entire month's savings.

So I'd be pretty freaked out if I suddenly had a baby. How am I gonna pay for it? My videos don't even get 5K views anymore.

I've got no business idea or plan that can make good money,

so I don't know, unless my girlfriend can, can start making some money with her investment property. Properties, property investments. Yeah, I don't know, I'm trying my hardest. I went to meet Ice, tried to do some IRL, try and do different topics, but nothing's really working. I'm trying to do my— trying to go back to like my old

I'm hoping it's going to get good CPM,

but it's going to get like 2K views, probably like 3K views. My view— viewership has dropped so much since— when did it start? I think since I got back from Japan, the viewers— viewers— the viewership numbers just dropped a lot, going from like 10K views down to below 5K views now.

I think the everyday streaming subathon might have killed the channel.

I think it was a combination of the non-stop streaming every day plus the random gaming videos like Zelda that, that put the final nail in the coffin to my already declining viewership.

But I got 90k views from my Zelda video, so I don't regret doing it.

It's just the problem with the gaming stuff is it actually kills the channel more

because my current viewers don't watch the gaming stuff, and the gaming viewers don't stick around because I just trolled them.

The girlfriend videos don't really get views anymore.

The dates video vlogs don't really get views. I don't know what to do. The ice video got some views because I got viewers from ice,

but that's just a one-time thing.

Cooking with Daniel, I don't know if I need footage to stretch a video. I might make some cooking clips.

Nothing you do gets views now. I know, the only thing that has views now is my Baldur's Gate review on my second channel. It's got 21,000 views now.

All I can talk about is racial stuff, being British and lonely and cheating, and

like social anxiety stuff, but I've talked about that so much and they don't get views. These topics don't get views.

Oh yeah, I saw the Trash Taste with Chris Broad in it, and Chris was whining

about how the content of the video doesn't matter as much as the title format. And I was saying, yep, this is what I've been saying the whole time. Chris was saying, oh, look at all these stupid viral videos like white man shocks locals with his language skills or tiny apartment in Japan. And he was whining about TikToks

getting tens of millions of views. And he was saying, oh, why did I bother focusing on making good videos when I could have just done these clickbait titles, gone tens of millions of views. And then he was saying basically

making good videos is not what matters, it's using whatever flavor of the month clickbait title, like, oh, white man shocks locals. And then he was saying he saw a video of a white guy and the video was called white man shocks locals using perfect Japanese, and the video had millions of views. But the man was just saying

like,

I don't know, like really basic Japanese. Like,

I kind of remember, but it's just like basic Japanese.

And that's what I've been saying the whole time. The video doesn't have to be good if you just use the clickbait title that is popular at the moment, then it will get views even if the content is trash. Like, you could say, oh, white man speaks perfect Japanese, and just say, oh, konnichiwa, chicken daishiki desu,

and that would probably go viral and get like 500,000 views.

YouTube is dumb.

It's just people finding titles that pop off on the algorithm and then exploiting it instead of focusing on making good content. Chris focuses on making good content, which is why he has a massive core following.

But there's definitely TikTok-style shorts. And you know, like Oriental Pearl, you know, that white girl in Japan, she got like 42 million views doing one video about being a white girl who speaks fluent Japanese and shocking the locals. And she's got like 40 million views, 20 million, 10 million. She gets way more views than Chris Broad, but

Chris's videos are way better. It's just because she exploits that title format that Xiaoman NYC pioneered.

But it was cool seeing Chris finally accept and admit what— and agree with what I've been saying this whole time, that YouTube is stupid. And it doesn't matter how much— how good you think your video is if the title sucks. You gotta do the clickbait title like, do not buy, this thing sucks.

When you find out title formats that work, you just got to keep doing that thing.

That's just what it's like being a YouTuber. You want to make videos that you care about, but you can't. You have to do videos that the algorithm cares about, and if you enjoy it as well, then it's like bonus. But usually a YouTuber thinks, okay, I'm gonna make this video because I think the algorithm is gonna like

it, not because I really want to make

video. Maybe I'll do another video about not having friends, why I was right about not having friends, because they'll just do what happened when I met Ice. They would pull up a load of stuff about me. They would— they'd either find it funny or they would press me about it

and then not like me.

And then if they find it funny, that's probably because they're kind of crazy people themselves, kind of psychotic people. Maybe you would have to be psychotic to find what I've said and done funny and not get offended by it. And then if you disconnect, the stream ends, and then the VOD gets saved, and then you've got to start a new stream, and then the new stream always has half the viewers the previous stream had. So if I had 100 viewers and I make a new stream, it would have 50 viewers and then take hours to build

back up to 100. So it's just very annoying,

and I don't want to pay $100 a month for this stupid streaming server, and I don't know how to set up my own server.
