How TO Have The BEST Start in Monster Hunter Wilds! (MH Wilds Tips & Tricks)

Hello, welcome back to a new video. So in

today's Monster Hunter Wilds video, we're

going to be talking about top tips and

tricks for new players starting the game,

how to get through the early parts of the

game as quickly as possible. So in the

beginning of the game, the armor and gear

you have isn't really super important,

although you can buy a lot of new weapons

by going to the forge in basically every

camp. And if you go to the forge and go

through the dialogue options and use the

facility, you can then craft different

types of weapons. Now if you go to your

weapons weapon. My one is the greatsword

in this case. You'll see this tree, we

have the weapon tree and we have a

multitude of different weapons that we can

craft. And you start off with the Hope

Blade 1 and you can upgrade that to the

Hope Blade 2 if you have enough resources

and money. And as you can see, you can

then go into the Hope Blade 3, which will

then start giving you different

attributes. You can get poisoned weapons,

you can get paralyzing weapons, There's

different weapons, also shock weapons.

And as you can see, you might not have a

lot of the materials that you need to

upgrade these weapons. For example, the

Bone Blade 2 needs a monster fluid, which

I don't have any of. But I recommend

getting the— no, not the Bone Blade, but I

recommend getting the— where is it?

Can't find it. Yes, I recommend getting

the Dosha Felslayer 1. This is an

extremely good starting weapon with an

insane amount of attack damage, 672 attack

damage. It also comes with an equipment

skill called Punishing Draw. And as you

can see, not all of the weapons have their

own kind of equipment skills. This is a

pretty good equipment skill for starting

off in the beginning of the game, and you

don't really need a lot of materials.

You'll get all these materials when you

defeat the Doshaguma boss, and then you

can create this weapon. So yeah, I also

recommend Paralyze as a weapon buff

because that's really good against

defeating a lot of the bosses. And you can

also do your armor. So just go with— in

the beginning of the game, you don't need

to worry too much about your armor because

you going to be replacing them pretty

quickly anyway. But as a thumb rule, the

best thing to do is basically just upgrade

to armor and get as high defense as you

can as possible. That will make you tanky

and make it so you can take a lot of hits

from the bosses without dying and having

to restart the fights. So as you can see,

as you unlock different materials from

defeating bigger monsters and bigger

bosses, you'll get access to different

types of armor. That uses the bits,

the claws and fur, to create the armor.

And then you see going down the list, you

can see all the different bosses we've

defeated: Radahn, Uthula,

Ajurakan, Hirabami. So these are all armor

sets stylized in the visual aesthetic of

the boss that you defeated. Just go for

the ones that have the highest defense and

you'll be good to go. Another tip and

recommendation for armor is if you have at

least a few pieces of the armor, namely

the head, chest, and legs, you get

equipment skills as part of the set. So

for example, the Ara-Ajara Kajan set will

give you the Part Breaker equipment skill,

which basically means you can wound

enemies quick— more quickly, and you can

break their armor and then wound them,

which would lead to more damage. And then

you also have the Bombardier equipment

skill, which is pretty good. And with the

Raidal set, you get the Latent Power,

which basically increases your critical

strike chance. So you definitely want to

match up your armor set so you have at

least 3 pieces so you can benefit from the

equipment skills. Also, don't forget to go

to the tent and you can grill food using

ingredients that you've picked up in the

world. Cooking food can give you great

buffs and bonuses when going up against

tough bosses, and it also restores a lot

of your health and stamina. Other things

you can do in the tent, things like you

can change your equipment. So you can look

at each equipment slot. So for example,

you got your weapons, and here I've got my

Hope Blade 3 and my Buster Sword and my

Dosha Felslayer. You can see they've got

different equipment skills. So Critical

Eyes is going gives you more critical crit

chance. Speed Sharpening just means you

can sharpen it faster, and Punishing Draw

basically means you'll have a chance to

stun the enemy when you do an attack when

drawing your weapon. So keep an eye on the

different equipment skills because you

might have one that you prefer over others

and suits your build style more. We also

have sharpness, so the more sharp the

weapon is, or the sharper the weapon is,

the more damage it's going to do. So

you've got to keep your whetstones wet and

keep your weapons are sharpened. Now I

really recommend getting armor that has

the equipment skill Part Breaker because

this is going to allow you to break enemy

parts faster and do more damage, which can

be great for wounding them and hitting

their weak points and also farming more

ingredients from them. When they break

their wounds, they're gonna get, uh,

they're gonna drop parts which you can

pick up and farm and use for more gear.

Jumping on top of the enemies is also a

really good way to do great damage. So you

can jump onto them when you're mounted and

then you do the jump You can move around

onto different parts of the bodies and

wound them. So the wound system is really

important because it does amazing damage

and makes them drop gear and ingredients.

So you can see the damage due on a wound.

You destroy the wound and then you pick up

a part of its body, and you can do some

really great damage. So you just spam them

with attacks until a glowing bit appears

on their body, and you can locate the

glowing bits by holding left trigger and

then targeting the part of the body and

following up with an RB attack. Which will

then take advantage of the wound and

do a direct attack on the wound, dealing

massive damage onto it. So you can do a

vertical slice like this, or you can do a

horizontal slice like that, and you can

also do a combined slice holding the 2

buttons down together, charging up for a

powerful attack. So as you can see, he's

wounded on his leg, somewhere there. So

what we're gonna do is we're gonna jump

up, do a launching attack like that,

and you want to hold down the left trigger

to locate the wound on his bum hole

really. And then you want to do an attack

straight into it like that, and you'll do

a wounded destroyed and you'll get some

fur in this case. So this is a great way

of farming ingredients from the bosses,

and that's why you wanted Part Breaker

because it just allows you to do that much

quicker and build up the runes faster and

also destroy the runes faster. So you just

want to keep targeting the runes because

this way you'll do the most damage to the

enemy and also getting those important

ingredients to craft some powerful gear.

So this is basically one of the most

powerful parts of the game, and it's a new

feature in Monster Hunter Wilds. You

definitely want to take advantage of it

and get gear that's designed to take part

of it, take advantage of it. So you can

see all these wounded locations on his

body now. We're just going to spam it

and farm his wounds like that,

destroy his wounds,

and you'll make short work of him pretty

much. So we just got more fur, we got so

much fur, and we're going to go for a

heavy attack like that. This is how you do

the most damage in the early game.

And just keep spamming him like that.

See if he's got more wounds. So yeah,

that is the wound system. Uh, we slayed

him and now we're gonna farm his body and,

uh, yeah, create more gear. It's basically

what Monster Hunter is all about. A great

way to farm bosses is if you go onto the

minimap and then you look around the

minimap for moving things. So you'll see

the bosses moving around on the minimap.

So there's one here, as you can see it's

moving around. Got a Lalabarina. I saw

another one up here.

So you can move around on the map and

look— no, that's not something. Oh look,

there it is. It just walked right over us.

So yeah, we've got the Lalabarina, and

then what you can do is you can

right-click on it and that will put a

marker on it. So you now, you can see it's

marked and And now you can track it. So if

you go on your mount, it will auto-run

towards your waypoint, and then you can

just follow it like this and switch your

weapon and sneak up on it,

and you can do a jumping attack onto its

back like that. Upgrading weapons is also

very useful. So basically you want to get

every single ingredient or material you

can find outside in the open world because

you never know when you're going to need

something. So for example, you go to the

weapon tree and you go down here and

look at this. I found that I can upgrade

to the new Krake level 1, and it

does 816 damage and also does 270

fire damage. So this is so much better

than what I've currently got, the Hope

Blade 3, I think. And I could also get the

offensive guard and guard, so it's more of

a defensive weapon. These I haven't got

access to yet. The Dogushima tree

is what my current weapon was previously.

And yeah, you just want to keep your eye

out on the weapon tree because you unlock

different things depending on what you

have. And this is going to be a pretty
