DO NOT BUY Total War - Warhammer 3 - VERY disappointing

Hello and welcome back to a new video game

review. So recently I've been playing the

brand new Total War: Warhammer 3, and as

an avid fan of Warhammer and Total War

games in general, I just had to play this

game. Unfortunately, so far it's been

pretty disappointing, and I don't see any

reason why I should play this game over

Warhammer: Total War 2. So when I first

started playing the game, the first thing

that struck me was that the game looks

exactly like Warhammer: Total War 2. If

you've played Warhammer: Total War 2,

then everything looks pretty much the same

as you would expect in Warhammer Warhammer

Total War 2, apart from the fact that the

main color scheme is now red instead of

kind of like a blue. As for the graphics

of the game, I don't really notice any

significant graphical upgrades from the

previous game. The graphics and the layout

of the game looks almost identical to

Total War: Warhammer 2, and you would be

able to fool me into thinking that this is

actually Total War: Warhammer 2 if it

weren't for the new races in the game. It

looks almost exactly the same. So I guess

the main draw of Total War: Warhammer 3

would be the new races that you can play

now. Unfortunately, I don't really like

any of the new races. You get 8 new races,

6 of which are these kind of demon monster

kind of races like Khorne, Chaos,

Slaanesh, and Nurgle, and then some ogre

race. And I don't know about you, but when

I play Warhammer, I like to play as the

good guys, the humans. And there's only 2

human races in this new game. You get like

this Chinese-looking race, and then you

get this kind of Viking, nomadic, tribal,

shamanistic race, which I really don't

like the look of. Now in my local

Warhammer gaming community, I'm kind of

known as— I kind of have this reputation

of being known as an Empire player. I am

kind of a professional Empire player. I

love everything about the Empire. I just

really like the Empire. I like the lore,

I like the look, I like the aesthetic, I

like the kind of troops they have. I love

all the machinery, like the tanks and the

cannons, the mortars, the volley guns and

the handgunners. All of that stuff is

really cool to me and it really resonates

with the Empire. But guess what? In the

new Warhammer Total War 3, they've removed

all of the good races. All of the

traditional legacy races like Elves,

Orcs, Dwarves, Humans, Lizardmen, Undead—

none of those races can be found in this

new game. What is the point of making a

sequel and then you take away all of the

great stuff from the previous game and

then just give us less options in the new

game? For that reason, I don't really see

any reason to continue playing Total War:

Warhammer 3. When I can't even play as the

Empire? I have no interest in playing

these ugly races like the Ogres. Have you

seen the Ogres? They're so fat and ugly,

and it's like a big guy on a motorbike or

wheelchair eating a massive drumstick. He

looks so dumb and stupid. I want to play

as sophisticated, civilized races like the

Empire or the High Elves, or at least the

Dwarves maybe. I don't want to play as

Khorne or Slaanesh or Nurgle or these

disgusting-looking gross things. I want to

be humanity's last bastion of hope. When

I'm playing a Warhammer Total War game, I

want to be in command of cool-looking

troops. I want knights in shining armor.

I want brave men in their armor holding

shields and swords and archers and

pikemen. I just really don't feel like I

care about winning the campaign. I don't

really feel any kind of connection to the

new races when they're just these monsters

and demons that I'm not rooting for. I

don't see them as the underdog. I see them

as the enemy. I want to fight them as the

Empire, but there's no Empire race in this

game, which really sucks. So the only 2

candidates for human races in this game

are, like I mentioned earlier, the kind of

Viking shamanistic ragtag-looking homeless

people, which I really don't like the look

of, and I don't like their troops.

They've got a big polar bear, which is

supposed to be— I guess it's kind of cool,

but I don't really care about a big

magical polar bear. And then you've got

this kind of Chinese race, and they're

okay looking. They've got stuff like Jade

Knights and these firecracker launcher

volley gun things and hot air balloons

with snipers. And they've got some pikemen

and traditional stuff like that you would

expect. But I just don't really feel like

the Chinese aesthetic really fits in well

with Warhammer. When I think of Warhammer,

I think of gritty European knights in

armor fighting hordes of orcs and Skaven

ratmen and lizardmen, stuff like that. I

don't really think of East Asian oriental

kind of looks. And as someone who's part

Chinese, I just didn't really feel like

the Chinese armies in Warhammer really

belong in Warhammer. If I wanted Chinese

armies, I would have played Total War:

Three Kingdoms, but I want to play

Warhammer. And I've been into Warhammer

since I was 10 years old. I used to play

the tabletop games, I used to paint and

make the miniatures, I used to play 40K

and Fantasy. And I've never ever seen this

Chinese race before or these kind of

Viking polar bear people before either.

So I don't know if Sega just randomly came

up with them on the spot for the new game

because I've never seen them before. And

every race has some kind of huge giant

monster mob. And I feel like that's the

main gimmick of this new Warhammer Total

War 3 game is the fact that you have giant

units. In Warhammer Total War 2, you

didn't really get units of this size apart

from maybe the Lizardmen, dinosaurs, and

the T-Rexes. But apart from that, you

didn't really get big unit. So I guess

that's something of a— that is a bit of a

breath of fresh air, but it's not really

enough to make up for the fact that a lot

of the races that I really enjoyed playing

for or playing against are not in this new

game. And if you just want to play as

hordes of demons or Chaos or weird-looking

monsters like Slaanesh or Nurgle, then

sure, you might like this game. But if

you're like me and you like playing as the

Empire, you like having castles, or you

like Bretonnia and knights and peasants

and cannons, Then, this new Total War:

Warhammer 3 game is extremely lacking for

players like me. I don't know why they

didn't just add in all of the previous

races into this game as well. When I was

downloading the game, it was a bloody 130

gigabyte whopping huge file, and I would

expect for that size of a game, it would

at least have all of the great things in

the previous game included with it. It

just seems like it was kind of pointless

making this new game when the whole game

just seems like DLC for the previous game.

I swear all of the content in this game

could have just been added to Total

Warhammer 2 in the form of downloadable

content and extra downloads. All you get

are 8 new races. There were almost 20+

races in Warhammer Total War 2. What's the

point of this brand new game unless

they're going to slowly release new races

for it? Maybe eventually they'll release a

DLC for the Empire race that you can

download for Warhammer Total War 3, but

then at that point I just feel like it's

kind of pointless choosing to play

Warhammer Total War 3 over Warhammer Total

War 2 because really there's no

differences in the gameplay mechanics or

the graphical fidelity of the game, there

isn't really any significant improvements

that I can notice. I don't really see any

difference between this game and the

previous game. So in conclusion, I can't

really recommend this game, which is a

real shame because I am a massive fan of

Warhammer and I've played a lot of

Warhammer Total War 2, so I thought this

game would be right down my street as

well. But I just cannot get into it with

the races that are currently on offer, so

I won't be able to recommend buying it. I

think I'd have to give it a 2.8 out of 10.

And I'm going back to Warhammer Total War

2, and I think I'm gonna delete this one.
