[2021-11-30] My YouTube Channel Might Disappear Soon... [7TiDe-kWfNo]

Hi, so I kind of have some bad news to

talk about, but before I start talking

about it, I would like to kindly ask you

to press the like button because my

channel's not doing very well recently,

and I heard that pressing the like button

helps a little bit. And if you did press

the like button, I would like to thank you

by showing you this beautiful picture of

my dead cat. So the bad news

is I need to pee really badly.

So sorry about that.

So the bad news is, as some of you may

know, I've been making lots of video game

reviews on my Chef Daniel's second

channel, and unfortunately, through no

fault of my own, I somehow managed to get

2 community strikes because I accidentally

put NSFW material into the description

box. I kind of have this obsession with

illustrated and animated anime girls

involving tentacles. I just really like

that stuff, and I wanted to share my

passion. Unfortunately, YouTube doesn't

like it as much as I do, and if I get a

3rd strike, as many of you may know, that

means the channel gets terminated. And I

just feel so stupid because I should have

known that this is against the guidelines.

It's literally written in the guidelines

not to share NSFW material in the

description box. And of course it makes

sense because there's a lot of young

impressionable people watching those

videos, and if they click on that stuff,

they might also get hooked into the

tentacle anime girl stuff like me, and

that would just be absolutely terrible. I

mean, Someone has to think about the

children, and obviously I wasn't when I

put that stuff into the description box,

because apparently I thought it was a good

idea at the time. And you would think that

someone like me who's been on this

platform for so many years, that surely I

must know what is against the YouTube

guidelines by now. Well, it's too late

now. I have to accept my punishment, and

I'm just really scared now. So if I get a

third strike, that means it's game over.

And it's kind of put a lot of things into

perspective for me because this whole

YouTube thing is a very fickle and fragile

thing. And having almost all of your

income reliant and depending on YouTube is

a pretty scary thing, especially when all

it takes is a couple of strikes and then

your whole channel gets taken down. One

day Google might decide that YouTube—

running YouTube is just not very

profitable, and it's costing them too much

money to keep the servers running, and

they just decide to shut down the website.

That could very well happen, and there's

not really an alternative to YouTube that

I could switch over to. There's Twitch,

but it's not really the same because it's

not about making videos. When you lose

your job at some normal job like

McDonald's, if McDonald's did shut down

and go bankrupt, there's like 100

different other burger restaurants that

you could just go and get a new job at.

If YouTube shuts down, I can't really do

the same because there's no YouTube 2.0

from another company. So basically, I've

been trying my hardest to use all of these

skills that I've gained over the past few

years as a professional YouTuber. My

skills in video editing and creating

content and growing a brand and marketing.

I've been trying to leverage those skills

that I've gained and trying to diversify

my income over different platforms. Like

Twitch, OnlyFans. Problem is most

companies are not gonna take these skills

very seriously if you put on your CV 5

years experience making video content for

YouTube in the form of vlogs and other

stuff. No company's gonna look at that and

go, oh, this looks really good, we're

gonna hire you and give you the job. It's

kind of like a useless skill in a way.

And a lot of people think maybe being a

YouTuber and doing YouTube is the best

thing in the world 'cause you don't have a

boss, you could just do whatever you want.

That couldn't be further from the truth.

We don't technically have a boss. Well,

our boss is Google and YouTube. We've got

to do what they say or else we get

strikes. And we've also kind of got our

boss in the form of our audience. If we

don't make what our audience wants to see,

then they just don't watch anymore, and

then we don't make as much money. Some

people might think doing YouTube, you have

ultimate freedom, you can do whatever you

want and go wherever you want. It's not

really true. You're kind of like a slave

to YouTube. You've got to keep putting

stuff out, otherwise the algorithm

punishes you. You've got to make sure

everyone's happy all the time. You can't

say things that upset people because then

they get upset and annoyed, then they

don't like you anymore, and that's, um,

that's pretty bad. I do think it's a

blessing and it's a really great thing,

and I'm very grateful to be able to be in

the privileged position to be able to do

YouTube as a full-time job, but also in a

way it's kind of like a prison. It gives

you this illusion that you can do whatever

you want, and technically you can, you can

just do what you want when you want to,

but then you get punished and the channel

suffers. It's a bit scary to think that

all of these years of hard work and effort

you put into building and growing a

channel can just be wiped away and taken

away just because you made a few mistakes

and you got a few community strikes that

weren't very clear and obvious in the

beginning. Sometimes I, I do think to

myself, what would I do if my channels did

get taken down and would I have to get a

job? I think I'd probably just go back to

my mum's place and sign back up to the job

centre like I used to. Hello, welcome back

to a new Cooking with Daniel. So I've got

some ingredients here. I'm gonna make a

chicken soup. We've got an onion,

carrots, and parsnips,

and I've got this leftover roast chicken

that I made last Friday which I still have

loads of. So the

plan is I'm going to put the whole thing

into the pot.

Doesn't quite fit in the pot.

So I think I'll try and cut off the back

end.

Oh, that was easier than I thought. Oh,

so I put the chicken into the pot.

I guess you could put these bits in as

well. There's not really much meat left.

There's still quite a lot of meat left

over on some of it. Yeah,

that's a good piece

of meat. Um, yeah, that should

do really. Next, we cut

the vegetables into soup-sized

chunks.

Then we transfer the vegetables into the

soup. Very simple meal

to make.

Then we add 1 cube of chicken stock for

seasoning, then add the water.

And that is how you make leftover chicken

soup. I just need to let that boil for a

few hours, maybe.

A few hours later, this is what it looks

like, and we can add some sage for extra

flavoring.

And if the chunks are too big, you can use

scissors to make it smaller.
