Why I HATE the PlayStation 5 - WASTE OF MONEY

Hi, so I recently got my hands on the

brand new Sony PlayStation 5, and I

thought I'd just make a quick video to

talk about why I think it's a bit of a

waste of money and why I'm kind of

disappointed with the whole experience.

Unfortunately, I don't really have many

positive things to say about this brand

new games console, and that's mainly

because I just don't think it's very

breathtaking. It's just not very

impressive for what it's supposed to be.

It's supposed to be a next-generation

console with all the new bells and

whistles. And frankly, the new bells and

whistles that it currently has, they're

just very lackluster. I guess the main

complaint I have is compared to a proper

gaming computer, even a cheap gaming

laptop outperforms this brand new

PlayStation console in pretty much every

single way. For $399,

the PlayStation 5— that's how much it

costs— basically what you're getting is a

really, really cheap underperforming

gaming laptop, which is comparable to

maybe 2016. We've had gaming laptops that

were as powerful as the current new

PlayStation 5. We've had those kind of

specs in gaming laptops since at least 4

years ago. So as a gaming PC gamer,

the PlayStation 5 is just not very

impressive. So first of all, there's

barely any games on it. Most of the games

are just old PS4 games that have been

remastered, and by remastered, basically

all they did was make it look a a little

bit more shiny. One of the main features

of the new PlayStation 5 is this thing

called ray tracing, and basically it just

makes games look shinier and it gives them

real-time reflections. Oh wow,

reflections, that's so groundbreaking.

Not. And then there's like 2 new games

that are specifically made from the ground

up for the PlayStation 5. Some sports game

and then some new Spider-Man game. It's

got the stupidest title ever. It's called

Spider-Man: Miles Morales. What the hell

does that mean? What kind of stupid name

is that? And I don't quite understand the

story. Is he Spider-Man or is he copying

Spider-Man? If he's copying Spider-Man,

then I guess it's fine that he's black

because he's a completely different

character. I'm guessing he's not Peter

Parker, that's why it's called Miles

Morales. But then that begs the question,

why is there a copycat Spider-Man? Does he

have the same abilities as Spider-Man?

Why is there just a clone of Spider-Man

out there? It's just really stupid as a

story. Storyline. And Spider-Man games are

so boring. I remember when I was 10 years

old playing the new Spider-Man games, and

at the time when they first came out,

yeah, they were amazing. You had this

massive city, you could swing around, you

could ride on top of cars, you could beat

people up. But every single Spider-Man

game that has come out afterwards has been

exactly the same. It's always the same.

You've got web slinging, you can climb up

buildings, and then you punch thugs and

thieves. Spider-Man is the most pathetic

superhero in the entire existence of

superheroes because in the games all he

does is beat up ordinary people and that's

supposed to be impressive. And they just

group around him, there's like 5 of them

waiting their turn to get beaten up, and

it's not really impressive. He's got

superhero super abilities and he's just

fighting regular thugs. And then when he

goes up against a proper supervillain,

supervillain, he gets his buttocks beaten

badly most of the time. I'm sorry, but I'm

just not interested in some Spider-Man

game. I've played a billion of them

already, and every single time they're

always the same. There's nothing new,

nothing exciting about Spider-Man. And

this new Spider-Man game, although yeah,

it looks nice, obviously, because it's a

next-generation game on a next-generation

console, it better look nice. But that

isn't really enough to, you know, wet my

tissues, if you know what I'm saying. So

when it comes to games, there's not really

much on offer right now because it's a

newly released console. Which isn't really

much of an excuse. You know, you would

have thought they would have planned some

smash-hit games that come out alongside

with the game console. Back in my day when

I was a teenager and Xbox 360 or the

PlayStation 3 or 4 were coming out, they

had amazing games already prepared to come

out alongside with it. You had Halo 3,

you had GTA San Andreas coming out with

the PlayStation 3, and everyone was really

excited for the games, not about the

stupid console. Yeah, the console was

great and all that, But you got the

console for the games. Now it seems like

you just get the console for the console.

So the other gimmicky thing the

PlayStation 5 does is it has these stupid

controllers. So Sony keeps going on and on

about the new controllers that have

special adaptive triggers that change

pressure depending on what's happening in

the game, and there's all these

interactive haptic feedbacks and vibrating

stuff. They've even got stupid speakers

built into the controllers now, so you

You've got sound coming out of your hand.

It just seems so gimmicky. I want to play

a game because the game is fun, not

because the stupid controller is vibrating

in my hand or making sounds. I don't want

vibrating controllers. Every time I pick

up a new controller on a new console, I

always go straight to the settings and

disable the rumble feature because it's so

annoying. I don't want my hands vibrating.

You know why they don't have vibrating

gaming mouses? It's because the vibration

is irritating. I don't see the point of

it. It's supposed to make you feel like

you've just been shot or you've been hit,

so your hands will vibrate a little bit.

I don't know if you've been shot in real

life before, but I have. And trust me,

when you get shot, it doesn't feel like

your hands are vibrating. It feels a lot

worse. It feels a lot more than just a

little bit of vibration. So yeah, I hate

the vibrating features on controllers. I

always switch them off. And these triggers

on the new PS5 controllers are just a load

of rubbish. So in some games, the

resistance, the amount of pressure you

have to apply on the triggers to press

them down, changes depending on what's

happening in a game. So for example, if

you're in a car game and you're driving

really fast, you want to brake, then

you're gonna have to squeeze the triggers

harder because it's supposed to simulate

how hard it's supposed to be to brake a

car whilst it's traveling really fast.

And I just really think this is a massive

gimmick. I'm not interested in this at At

all. I don't understand how this could be

implemented into any kind of games that I

find enjoyable. For example, if you have a

shooting game, how is this supposed to

make the shooting more enjoyable? What are

you going to do, have the game randomly

break and then the trigger stops working

because the trigger in the game is jammed?

It just seems like a massive gimmick. I

don't see this actually being implemented

properly in games, and it's just going to

fade away as kind of like a fad. Maybe

they'll make a few games that utilize this

new ability, this new feature, And yeah,

maybe the little side game's gonna be like

a little minigame where it uses the

adaptive triggers and the new features on

the controller, but like I said before,

it's just gonna be a massive gimmick.

People will forget about it just like they

did with the Wii controllers after all

that fuss and bother everyone was making

over Wii controllers. And then people just

kind of lost interest and went back to

good old-fashioned gaming mouse and

keyboard, which is how games are meant to

be played and will always be played. And

that's all you need. You don't need fancy

vibrating or fancy buttons that change

how, how much pressure you need to apply

to press them down. That's just a load of

rubbish. If you're going to buy a

PlayStation 5, you're basically just

wasting $400 on an underperforming kind

of wannabe gaming laptop. Let's face it,

consoles these days are kind of like

wannabe computers. They can connect to the

internet, they've got internet browsers,

you can watch Netflix and YouTube on them,

you can download games. It's basically

like a very, very limited version of an

actual computer. Back in the day, gaming

consoles were for gaming. Didn't have all

this rubbish like downloadable software

and internet browsers. That's what you did

on a computer. Why would you just get a

wannabe computer that is cheap?

Yeah, okay, I guess it's good because it's

cheap. If you've only got $400, then

PlayStation 5 is probably the best thing,

the best option you have. But if you have

money, then shelling out $1,000 for a

proper— shelling out $1,000 for a proper

gaming laptop is not really difficult.

And a gaming laptop at $1,000 is just

going to blow the PS5 out of the water.

Not in just terms of— not with just the

specifications and the hardware. Also with

the capabilities you'll get with a

computing device, a laptop. You get way

more games from Steam and other online

stores. You can do actual proper work like

Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, and you

can do anything on a PC that you could do

on a console and just way, way more.

And there's way more peripherals and

accessories you can get for it, all these

different mice and mouses and keyboards

and speakers, and it's just way better

than a stupid console. I don't want to

play gaming consoles anymore. Maybe when I

was a kid, a gaming console was good

enough. But as an adult, there's just no

replacing the gaming PC or the gaming

laptop. So in conclusion, I rate the

PlayStation 5 2.2 out of 10. Bit of a

waste of money, nothing interesting about

it. Yeah, just a massive disappointment

really. Also, I nearly forgot to talk

about the design of the PlayStation 5. Oh

my god, this thing is so ugly. What were

they thinking when they designed this

thing? So asymmetrical,

unsymmetrical. It's so wonky and ugly

looking, like it's gonna fall over. Why is

it so fat at one end and so thin at the

other end? Why does it look like a

sandwich? It looks like white bread with

some kind of black meat in the middle,

and it's just been slapped together, and

it's not even symmetrical. It looks all

wonky. It's the ugliest console I have

ever seen.
