challenge is keeping it. There's 2

challenges in life: getting what you want

and then hanging on, keeping what you

got. I would say number 2 is actually

harder than number 1. Like, sure, you

could get a girlfriend. That's not the

hardest part. The hardest part is keeping

stocks, but can you keep the gains? You

could blow up on YouTube, but can you keep

it alive, I think that's more difficult

very low entry, low skill job, you'd make

like 200 baht an hour, 150 baht an hour.

It's like $2, $3. You might as well

just make YouTube videos. Even if you get

money than what most Thai people make in a

crappy job. A teacher probably makes like

So I really don't see the point of getting

Yeah, so if I made 688 baht per stream

Can you hear the tank water? I've got

2 tanks running filters, and all day all I

can hear is water trickling. Uh, my fish

are all alive, by the way. So I think I

know what happened to the other fish. My

girlfriend bought— well, I bought her some

fish. I bought her 8 fish and they all

died in the first day. And I think the

reason why is because she gave them a lot

of food and it was a small tank, and I

reckon the ammonia— the ammonia spiked and

poisoned them all. So this time I'm giving

them very small quantities of food, and

I've got a much bigger tank, so there's

more water to dilute it. Plus I have

shrimp eating up leftover bits, should

keep— and I have living plants, so that

should keep the ammonia down. Actually,

you're supposed to, you're supposed to

cycle the tank for a few weeks to let

ammonia-nitrifying bacteria

to build up, or you can just buy bacteria

to add to the tank. So I don't know if

I've got enough bacteria. Since they're

all alive, I'm saying, I'm reckoning, I'm

thinking that I do have enough bacteria.

tank cost 600 baht, and then I bought

lights and I bought a filter, so in total

electric cars or hybrid cars. No one rides

a motorbike in Japan apart from maybe like

In Thailand, it's just like swarm of

motorbikes with really loud engines,

or like Toyota Hilux flatbed pickups with

black smoke spewing out of the exhaust

pipe. The cars and the motorbikes here are

so old and loud. There's quite a few

Teslas here and there, but it's just like

one or two here and there, but no one

really drives electric vehicles, and I

don't get it. Because it's like family

with 4, 4 family members, mum and dad and

2 kids on a moped. And I'm wondering, how

can they not just buy a car? And then my

girlfriend says, because they don't have

enough money. How can they not have money

when they've got kids and a family and

they've probably got a house, but they

don't have money to buy a cheap car? In

the UK, no one rides like a moped unless

you're 16 years old. And then you reach 17

and you just buy a car. You buy like a

cheap £200 2004 Peugeot

206 or something. Even a 17-year-old

teenager working at McDonald's can afford

to buy like a cheap car in the UK. But you

got like 30-year-old, 40-year-old people

who work full-time jobs and have families

traffic jams are so bad, having a moped is

and it still just gets really jammed up.

is to stop people from riding mopeds,

When I go to school in the morning, the

trains are completely packed. I have to

wait in queue. For like 4

trains to come and go until I can get into

the train. There's so many people in the

train station in the morning when I go to

school. Actually, I feel like going

earlier makes no sense because I end up

standing there until like 8 anyway. So I'm

going later nowadays and it doesn't really

make any difference. I could leave at half

7 or leave at 8 and I still end up just

getting there around the same time.

So either you get stuck in a traffic jam

trying to drive to school, or you get on a

moped, which would be fastest but it'll be

dangerous, or you get the train and then

you're just like packed into the train. I

get squished into the train every morning.

It's not too bad, it's not as bad as it

was in Tokyo.

But I know I've now memorized exactly

which train to get on, like which

carriage. So I get onto— I

get onto the very back carriage, so when I

get off, the staircase is right in front

of me when I get off. And then I get on to

the next train and I go straight, I walk

straight until the opposite it doors,

because I know that my station, I have to

get off on those doors. I've basically

min-maxed, perfected my train run, so I

know exactly where to get on and off to

maximize speed efficiency when I have to

get off and get on the escalator.

I think the train is the best way to get

to school. I got a taxi one time, but it

was like 300 baht and we kept getting

stuck in traffic jams. Then my girlfriend

took me to school once. The traffic jam

was so bad, I just got out in the traffic

jam and walked the rest of the way because

it was faster. I walked the remaining 10

so there's just like overgrown

shacks full of— surrounded by junk, and

like some guy, shirtless guy, just sitting

It's just like a plot of land and with

like a rusty corrugated metal shack,

loads of junk, and some naked guy just

sitting there. The streets look bad. They

do like a market under the, the motorway,

and it's hot and noisy and gross.

The whole neighborhood is crap, but

there's like a few very nice condos.

There's my condo, which is very nice, and

like another condo down the road. Which

are really nice with swimming pools and

concierge and security. But you go out and

it's just crap. The neighborhood's

rubbish. It just looks old. The buildings

are ugly and they're like concrete,

rebar poking out the concrete, and it's

like really old falling apart concrete

buildings and just plots of land with like

a naked man who doesn't look after his

land. It's just of junk. I never

want to go out of the condo. The train

station is nice. The BTS train station is

like a new, newly built metallic

structure. I just noticed the trains are

all built in Japan. There was a sign

saying built in Yokohama,

Japanese Electric Transport Corporation.

So all the trains here were built in Japan

from 2015, I think.

Yeah, I'm living in a pretty crappy area,

but my building is nice.

The area just— it needs complete overhaul.

Everything needs to be knocked down and

rebuilt. It's just crap.

could go to the park and walk.

konbini on the ground floor of my condo,

built into the condo. There's all these

shops and stuff,

but I really don't like the area outside

Trying to walk down the street, you'll

watch out to not bump into people. It's

not great. It's not like Japan where it's

really quiet and peaceful. You just have

like a nice evening walk and you barely

see anyone because everyone's gone home

after work. Japan is such a different

vibe. Like, living in an apartment in

Japan, you live in like a neighborhood, a

residential neighborhood, and then you go

out for a walk And it's just completely

peaceful and quiet. You go to 7-Eleven,

buy some Famichiki or whatever, get a

beer, go to the park, play with the stray

cats, and it's dead silent. Maybe see like

an old couple walking around. It's just so

quiet in Japan, but here it's just

non-stop traffic.

The parks are kind of scary at night

because it's full of stray dogs and those

big lizards.

I don't really miss Japan, but I do miss

aspects like the quietness and

peacefulness. No one's—

you don't see like a swarm of mopeds in

Japan. You see maybe one or two.

What I really miss is I miss the big

rivers and the big,

the big expansive areas of land by

the rivers and like the trains going over

the rivers and you can just take a walk by

the river and it's so peaceful and so wide

and open. There's nothing like that here.

Everything here is like cramped and

compact and chaotic and

crowded and noisy.

I don't know where you could go for some

peace and quiet. Apart from the big

parks. You have to

go to maybe Lumpini Park, Bencha Kitty

Park, or Chatuchak Park to get any kind of

peace and quiet. Otherwise it's just

motorways, massive roads, motorbikes,

or you hide in one of the really luxury

shopping malls, air-conditioned.

Or you move out of Bangkok and you live

in the middle of nowhere where it feels

like you're living in the, like, Vietnam

War jungle or something. It feels like

you could expect to see a bunch of

American Helicopters transporting troops

swooping at any time. It looks like, it

looks like the scenery in those Vietnam

War movies, just like jungle and

nothingness and blazing heat. I feel

like I'm gonna see Willem Dafoe emerge

from the jungle with his like

army vest on and screaming and throwing

grenades. That's what it feels like.

Why does whenever in like Southeast Asia,

Asian countries, and it's jungle, you just

think of Vietnam War movies? Because

that's what it's like.

Vietnam, all I could think of was like,

You can't find something much more boring

like a train set or build like a little

But some people have like an ant's nest as

a hobby. They'll get a big fish tank, but

instead of putting fish in it, they'll

fill it with dirt and build like an ant

colony. That's pretty cool as well.

I was watching the Kurzgesagt video series

about ants, all the different wars,

like World War Ants. I didn't realize

there's so many different like empires and

kingdoms of ants that have this global

world war constantly for millions of

years. And they, they like squirt acid at

each other, they enslave each other. Now

I'm gonna get demonetized for saying that.

I think the S-L-A-V-E word is messing me

up. The ants

do it, not humans. It's still monetized.

Ants are crazy. They just exist to fight

each other and attack each other's

colonies and steal each other's babies.

They're basically the same as humans but

on a tiny scale, and they farm and

they, they do agriculture and they,

they look after aphids. And there's some

ants Where they, they build like a home

out of leaves and they glue the leaves

together and make the home inside of the

leaf. And they allow access to the, the

tree to other insects if it's beneficial

to the colony. And they kind of

micromanage the ecosystem they live in.

They're really cool.

Their entire existence is like humans.

To, to go to war and to survive and to

build colonies, to wipe out their enemies'

colonies. Imagine if they,

they had hands and were bigger.

They would probably wipe out humans.

So if anyone ever says, oh, why do humans

go to war? Why can't they just live at

peace? Literally everything on this planet

is at war with each other.

Even ants and insects and colonies of

wasps and stuff like that. Everything is

at war at all times.

At least humans have some breaks in war.

In the animal kingdom, there's no such

thing. Everything's just constantly at

war.

I kind of like the leafcutter ants,

they're pretty cool, but I think the most

powerful ants are the army ants.

How goes the painting selling business?

No one— no one's really shown any

interest. I kind of gave up on painting.

I haven't painted in weeks. Maybe I'll get

I've been doing a lot of practice drawing

faces at school. My textbook is

just covered in faces and doodles and like

anime girls and The teacher saw me and

she, she made me show it to her.

It was a bit embarrassing. She said, who

are these girls? I said, it's my

girlfriend. And then everyone laughed.

I keep trying to answer the questions. In

the weirdest way I can think of.

I don't know if that's a good thing,

because it's kind of embarrassing,

because she, she went on and on last time.

So she would teach us new grammar, and

then she would make us ask everyone in the

class a question using the new grammar.

So the American guy asked me, have I

ever tried Thai food? And obviously I have

tried it, but I thought it'd be funny if I

say, no, I've never tried Thai food. And

then the teacher was like, really? You

never tried Thai food, but your

girlfriend's Thai? And then it was like

going on and on asking if I really had

never tried Thai food. And I was like,

yeah, because I just wanted to go with it

and stick with my answer.

So I thought it'd be funny. So I try and

think of funny answers to the questions.

Every time they ask me something, I say,

I try and incorporate McDonald's in the

answer. So now every time people ask me a

question, they ask me about McDonald's.

So we learn the word how, and then

they'll create a sentence like, how did

you get to McDonald's? And then the other

example question we learned the grammar

for was, was if. Oh yeah, we learned how

to say if last lesson. So the person

next to me asked me, if, if there's no Big

Mac at McDonald's, what will you do? And

then I said, if there's no Big Mac at

McDonald's, I will not eat. And then the

teacher was like, really? You're not going

to get French fries?

Uh, classmates still struggling with pom

and chan? Yeah, the Filipino girl kept

saying di-chan. I mean, she kept saying

kun instead of di-chan. Every time the

teacher had to, to like bring

it up and tell her to stop saying kun when

you need to say di-chan. I don't

understand it. 20 days into the course

and you're still saying you instead of I.

It's like, I imagine I'm talking to

you and I ask you, uh, what are you

going to do today? And then you answer,

uh, you are going to watch TV. No, you

say, I am going to watch TV. It's like the

most basic part of the sentence. How are

you not getting it correct by this point.

I think it's because they hear kun and

they're just repeating back what they

hear. Instead of saying I,

they say you. I have never done that.

The Russian guy keeps doing it as well.

He would keep saying kun instead of pom.

And then he'll say pom instead of kun.

How are you still making these basic

mistakes?

The biggest mistake I make is sometimes I

forget the question particle at the end of

the sentence.

But I think I'm the best in class.

Actually, I'm so good, I need to be

careful because if I ask my classmate,

when it's my turn to make a question and

ask my classmate, I gotta make sure he

understands what I'm asking.

So I can't, I have to be careful and not

use words that I think he probably won't

understand. So I just keep it simple,

like du TV, which means watch TV.

Yeah, my is the question particle, but you

don't use the question particle if you

already have a question word in the

sentence. Like if you have why, where,

how, when in the question, you don't use

my because it'll be like double question.

But if there's no question word, then you

use the question particle.

Yeah, we learned a lot of good grammar

last lesson. If is a really good word to

know. And, um,

yeah, we learned if there is no

thing, what are you gonna do? Like,

if there's no train, how will you come to

school? And I can now

form very long sentences like,

uh, tomorrow I will go to Phuket with

my friend by train at 2

PM. I can now create very long sentences.

And I can also ask things like why or how,

have you ever. And then I could also ask

why have you never. Done XYZ.

But I still don't understand a word people

are saying outside, which is kind of weird

because I feel like I can ask and say

nearly everything. But then I don't

understand a word people are saying

outside because it just sounds like yum

yum yum yum yum yum yum yum. Just sounds

like that. I don't understand a word

How come I don't understand what they're

When I'm watching Ice's streams, I'm
