why i HATE Linus Tech Tips

So as some of you may know already, Linus

Tech Tips is in some big trouble. There's

been some drama, and it's not exactly very

spicy drama. He didn't cheat on his wife

or anything. But as an avid viewer of

Linus Tech Tips, I found this recent

exposé to be very shocking, disturbing,

and very disappointing. I come to YouTube

to find the most reliable and up-to-date

and credible information about the things

I care about, like computing and gaming

and tech and phones and that kind of

stuff. I'm not exactly a tech wizard. I'm

not very gifted or intelligent when it

comes to technical specifications and that

kind of stuff. So I rely on these big

YouTubers like Linus Tech Tips to be able

to provide me with the most accurate

information. But when I find out that he's

been doing such a bad job at testing stuff

and giving accurate information, it kind

of makes me not really want to watch his

videos anymore for information. Sure, I

might watch it for entertainment because

he's kind of an entertaining guy, but if

I'm looking for actually useful

information that I need, then I might not

trust his videos so much anymore. I really

do find it kind of disgusting that Linus

Tech Tips would be willing to misrepresent

products and bash them and do like a

negative review when they haven't properly

tested the item or the product, and

they've just kind of like quickly whipped

out a video because they're trying to meet

these self-imposed quotas and time frames

and deadlines that they have to meet

because they're trying to pump out as many

videos as they possibly can on a daily

basis. Because for some reason they've got

like over 100 members of staff in this

massive testing warehouse facility, which

is kind of ironic that they spent millions

of dollars on a massive advanced high-tech

testing facility and they can't even get

the testing done properly. I really

believe that if you're not going to test

the products or the item properly, then

you really shouldn't be reviewing it and

then giving out this, like, making the

products look bad in this review when it's

not really a fair review. That's just like

very unethical and immoral. It's just

really mean and unfair that Linus would

trash this company, Billet Labs, trash

their prototype, their product, give it a

very unfair review and misrepresent sent

the products and then auction off the

prototype. I mean, imagine being a tech

reviewer and you don't even review the

products you're sent for free properly,

and then you give it a bad review, make

them look really bad when you're this

massive multi-million subscriber followed

channel. He's got like 20 million subs,

he's huge. So obviously he's got massive

reach and he's going to have a lot of

influence over people's purchasing

decisions. I always thought Linus Tech

Tips was kind of a weird guy, kind of

unhinged, especially when I saw that video

of him buying the sign of the company he

used to work for that fired him. He bought

the sign off some auction because the

company he used to work at, they went

bankrupt and they were selling off all of

their stuff. And he did like this

vindictive revenge move where he went to

the auction and bought the stuff from the

company that he left on bad terms with.

And it was just so petty. He bought the

sign from the company and he turned it

into like a gaming computer. He put gaming

computer components inside of the sign.

And I I was thinking, Jesus Christ, okay,

you proved your point that you're more

successful and you're able to make a

multi-million dollar business, and the

company that fired you were idiots and

they made a mistake and they should have

listened to you. But you don't have to be

so childish and petty to go to the lengths

of buying up their stuff just so you can

mock them and be like, oh, haha, now I own

you, now I own your sign, I own your stuff

because I'm better than you. It's just so

childish, and it really made me think,

wow, this Linus guy is kind of weird,

kind of unhinged. And you can just tell he

seems nice and friendly on camera, but I

bet he's extremely petty and vindictive

and very egocentric and is kind of weird.

There was another example. For example,

they reviewed some gaming mouse, and this

gaming mouse claims to have like really

low friction, frictionless gliding on your

mouse mat, and it's supposed to be really

good. And they tested it and they said it

was trash because there was a lot of

friction. And then it turns out there's

actually like a plastic peel plastic tape

under the mouse that you were supposed to

take off, and they didn't know. And then

the company of the mouse had to reach out

to them, tell them you were supposed to

take off the plastic bit and now you've

trashed our products and gave us a bad

review. So how dumb do you have to be to

not even check the underside of the mouse

to check if there's not like tape you have

to peel off? And then I watched the

apology video that they put out and it's

just so lame. It looked like one of those

Apple product presentation videos where

they sit in front of really nice lighting

and they give out this really robotic cold

kind of apology where basically all they

just say is, okay, we understand we have

made a mistake and it was all our fault

and we will do better and we're going to

stop everything we're doing currently now

to focus on making things better so this

will never happen again and we're so

sorry. And it just seemed like such an

empty apology. Linus had all of the

members, the top members of his team like

the CEO and the top editors and all those

people apologize in the video for Linus's

mistakes. And then at the end, Linus

appears and does like a really empty

shadow apology, which just seems like—

it's like he only apologizes because that

is the best thing to do. The only other

thing to do would be like, no, guys,

you're wrong because of X, Y, and Z, and

you're stupid. But that would be dumb and

just make everyone hate him. So obviously

the best course of action would be to just

say, okay, We admit we made mistakes.

Even if they don't think they made any

mistakes, it's so easy just to say, yeah,

we made mistakes. I'm sorry. We're gonna

do better. He even got his wife in the

video to apologize for him. I mean, how

much of a loser do you have to be to get

your wife to come on video and then

apologize for your mistakes and the

actions that you've done? That's just so—

made me lose a lot of respect for the man.
