A Great Website to Learn Japanese from Native Speakers

Hi, so today I would like to talk about a

website called WeNative. WeNative provides

you with a service that helps you find

native speakers of the language that you

are learning. Now, when it comes to

learning languages, I honestly believe

that speaking and practicing with native

speakers of the language is the most

important thing that you should be doing.

But some people might be living in a place

where it's hard to meet native speakers.

Speakers of the language they're learning.

And WeNative can help you find a native

speaker of the language you are learning,

and then you can practice conversation

with that person. So sign up for a free

trial today. You can use WeNative for

free, or you could pay $9 a month and get

extra features. For $9 a month, you'll

also be able to send unlimited session

requests and ask availability to other

members. And there's also a 14-day free

trial available. If you use the free

version of the website, you'll only be

able to receive and accept session

requests, but if you use the regular

membership, then you'll be able to make

requests to other people on the website.

And this way, you'll be able to talk to

anyone you want to on the website without

having to wait for them to make a request

to you.

Registration is very simple, just fill out

your name, country, email, password. You

also have to enter your time zone, and

then there's a few questions that you can

answer using dropdown menus. What is your

purpose to sign up to WeNative? I think

we're gonna go for the to meet people from

different countries and learn about their

cultures. Are you currently taking a

language lesson online or in school?

And finally, are you going to subscribe to

our $9 monthly membership?

After you've finished filling out the

registration form, you will get a

confirmation email. And next we have to

choose a picture so people know what we

look like, and there's a little

description box where you can write a bit

about yourself. I think it's quite a good

idea to be fairly descriptive about your

personality because you might be able to

find a better match with other members if

they also have similar interests as you.

And then we can choose our native language

plus the language we are learning and our

skill level. And we can also choose

things that we would like to help out

with. So it can be conversation, speaking

correction, homework. And the next step is

we can choose our availability using this

calendar, and all you have to do is drag

along the time slots that you'll be

available.

This calendar will allow other members on

WeNative to see when you're available to

have a session. So it's quite important to

fill this out properly, otherwise other

people on the website won't know when

you're available. The great thing about

WeNative is you don't need to message the

other person to check to see if they're

available. If the calendar free time slots

match up with the time slots that you

search for, then you'll be matched up with

them, and all you have to do is ring them

and see if they accept the call. This is

the homepage of WeNative, and as you can

see, we have some options to choose. We

can choose the native language of the

person we're looking for. And as you can

see, there's, there's lots of different

languages to choose from. So for example,

if you wanted to learn Japanese, then all

you have to do is choose Japanese from the

dropdown menu. And then WeNative will look

for native speakers of Japanese. And you

can also set the available date and the

available time that you would like to have

a session. And then if you press search,

we can see the search results down below.

It will show you a list of people and you

can see their picture, you can see their

native language, you can see the language

they're learning and their skill level,

and the number of sessions they've had and

the number of references they also have.

So once you've found someone you would

like to talk to, we can click on their

name so we can see their profile in more

detail. I think this lady looks quite

nice, so I'm going to press her name. As

we can see, she has a bit of a description

so we can find out more about her. Says

that she can teach you the Japanese

language and she wants to learn English

and she came back to Japan temporarily and

she's willing to help with conversation,

speaking correction, homework, and job

interview. And then she also has

references, so these are people she spoke

to in the past and they left a review.

Saying that they would like to talk again

with her. Brian says he had a really great

time talking to Asuka and would love to

hear more about her travel outside of

Japan. I think this is a really good

system because you can find out about

someone before you have a practice session

with them by reading other people's

references and by reading what they had to

say about that person. So to summarize,

WeNative is a fast and convenient way to

find yourself a language exchange partner

First, set your availability so other

people know when you're available for a

session. Easily find a language exchange

partner on your schedule by searching

other people's availability. Quick start

without asking your language partner's

schedule by sending them a direct session

request based on their calendar. When

you've agreed on a time to have a session

with someone, you can use the built-in

video conference system on WeNative. This

way you won't have to share your private

Skype or SNS account details with

people on the website. On WeNative, you

can make instant video calls to online

users whose call status is active.

If they have the call button enabled,

then all you have to do is click on the

call button and wait for them to accept.

This provides an easy way to talk to other

WeNative members face-to-face. Many people

study and practice a language.

language. I was lucky and I was able to

travel a lot and easily meet Japanese and

Korean people, which really helped me when

I was learning those languages. But some

people might not be so fortunate and they

might be stuck in the place that they live

in. For example, I lived in the

countryside in England and it would have

been very difficult for me to meet

Japanese people in that area. So I think

practice, um, to practice conversation
