DO NOT BUY Samsung Galaxy S22 - VERY disappointing

Hello, welcome back to a new phone review.

So recently I've been playing around with

the brand new Samsung Galaxy S22, and I

wanted to make a review video and give my

initial impressions of the phone. Now

straight out of the box, this brand new

iteration of the Galaxy flagship phones

has a striking new design and appearance

with the new camera bumps up in the top

left corner, a very distinctive and

attractive looking style. And for the

front of the phone, it has a very simple

and edge-to-edge display featuring a hole

punch cutout for the selfie camera. Now,

some of you may think that this new design

direction that Samsung is going in is

attractive, or maybe you would like it,

but unfortunately it didn't quite meet my

standards. I don't really like the design

of the S22, and I really feel like they're

just copying Apple even more than they

usually do. It's a complete rip-off of the

new Apple iPhone 13 phone's appearance and

design, and I'm not really impressed with

the way that Samsung doesn't really do a

good job at coming up with its own

original designs. And my main complaint

with the S22 phone upon using it for

several days is that the buttons are just

a little bit sharp around the corners and

the edges. It hurts my finger, and my

fingers are not very hard, they're pretty

soft. And after pressing the buttons on

the S22 for several hundred times,

I did notice to get a bit of a blister on

my little finger. Now compared to the

S10+, which is the current Samsung phone

that I had previously, I didn't really

notice a massive improvement in the phone

apart from the fact that yes, it is

obviously a little bit faster, which is

what we would all expect. Why would they

make a new phone that's slower? They

wouldn't. And the cameras are a slight

improvement with the extra bumpage in

megapixels. And yes, the software is a

little bit cleaner and more efficient.

But apart from that, I didn't really

notice major changes from going from the

Samsung S10+ to the Samsung Note 10+.

Samsung S22. There's not really much that

you could say that's different about these

phones. Now, I mainly use an Apple iPhone

12 Mini as my main driver, and compared to

my main driver, this S22 didn't really

feel like it was as good as my main

driver, and I didn't really feel compelled

to switch my SIM card over from my Apple

iPhone 12 Mini into the Samsung S22,

mainly for these reasons. Number one,

I've never really liked Samsung software,

even though yes, they are improving and

they're taking hints from the big boy

Apple. But I've always preferred the Apple

ecosystem and I just feel like, I just

feel like I'm having more of an enjoyable

user experience on my iPhone when I'm

using the internet or browsing or playing

games or chatting to people. I find the

interface on the iPhone to be more of a

joy to use compared to Samsung phones.

And if I had to choose between using the

Samsung S22 and my iPhone, my hand always

automatically goes straight back to my

iPhone Apple Mini. So the camera system

hasn't really seen much of a change

compared to previous phones. It seems like

all major flagship phones these days

follow the same kind of lenses. You've got

your standard lens, telephoto, and then

wide angle, and then selfie lens on the

other side is just like a standard lens.

Now these camera lens setups are all fine

and everything, it's just My biggest

problem is that none of these phone

companies seem to have the brains to put a

wide-angle lens on the selfie camera. I

just think that with so many people

vlogging for YouTube and TikTok and

Instagram and stuff and taking selfies,

wouldn't it be a better idea to put a

wide-angle lens on the selfie camera

instead of the standard lens? Then you

wouldn't need to use stuff like selfie

sticks or tripods or have special camera

AI that makes the, the picture wider, why

don't you just put like a GoPro wide-angle

lens on the selfie side? I don't know why

companies, phone companies, don't do that.

Maybe it's because the wide-angle lens is

bigger and it'll take up more space for

the little punch-hole cutout thing on the

front of the screen now. I don't know,

but I just feel like life would be a lot

easier for me if I was vlogging. I didn't

have to clip on my attachment wide-angle

lens to do a selfie wide-angle video.

That would just be so great if they just

put the wide-angle lens on the other side,

but no, they just refuse to do that. They

keep thinking people want a standard lens

when no, we don't. Now compared to my

Apple iPhone Mini 12, the camera systems

in the S22 were not really quite up to my

standards. I didn't really find that the

photo and image quality was quite as good

as my iPhone. Now the thing with Samsung

photos is that they highly saturate and

edit the photos post-production. I just

found my iPhone Apple 12 Mini photos to be

more pleasing to the eye and more

realistic when it comes to color tones and

temperatures. Now, for the price of the

phone, the S22 is about £750 or

£829 if you want the 256GB

version. There is a 128GB version which is

cheaper, but I don't feel like that would

be enough storage for me as someone who

consumes a lot of media and downloads

plenty of video footage from the internet.

128GB is really not going to last me very

long. And the worst thing about the S22 is

they've removed the microSD card slot,

which is just a terrible idea. My Samsung

S10+ is almost a 5-year-old phone and

it has a microSD card slot, which I put to

very good use. I put a 256GB microSD card

into my Samsung S10 Plus, and I feel like

I've got so much storage, and it only cost

me about £20 to get this SD card. In

comparison, in order to go from 128GB to

256GB storage with the S22,

you have to pay almost £100 to get this

upgrade in storage. They only took away

the microSD card slot so that it would

force people into buying the more

expensive version of the phone in instead

of just buying a microSD card, which would

only cost about £20. Samsung's very sneaky

like this. They're trying to make more

money. They're trying to make more money

by preventing people from doing things

that can help save themselves money, and

this is just one of their tactics. You

could just get a Samsung S10+, which would

only be about £200 these days, maybe even

£150, plus you can get an SD card for only

£20, and you'd have more storage than this

brand new S22 does. It's just kind of a

rip-off. That they expect us to be happy

with 128GB and then charge so much more

to be able to get an improvement upgrade

in storage. As for the price of the phone,

I don't really feel like £750 is very

expensive. I've definitely had more

expensive phones in the past and didn't

really have to justify the price tag too

much, so I feel like £750 is not a bad

price and most people should be able to

afford it. But the only good thing about

the S22 would have to be the camera

systems. If you take away the camera

systems, then the S22 hasn't really had

much improvements since previous

iterations of Samsung Galaxy phones,

apart from the fact that it's just

slightly faster. But if you really cared

about photography that much and you needed

a phone, you could just get a Samsung S10+

for about £100 and then get a decent

camera for £500, like a point-and-shoot

mirrorless compact camera be able to take

way better photos than the Samsung S22

ever could. So in conclusion, I don't

really feel like I can recommend the S22.

It's just not really that interesting.

It's pretty lackluster and very falls

apart in almost every aspect compared to

my Apple iPhone mini 12. I would have to

give it a very poor score of 2.9 out of

10. Not very good. And I feel like the

iPhone Apple 14 is gonna be way better.

Just wait for that.
