Online dating vs real life dating

It's been a long time since I've seen

this. It's kind of strange seeing

the outside and it's not

pitch black for a change. So weird. Do you

like my new shirt? I got it a few days

ago. I know it's not a potato, it's a

carrot, but I think that's the whole joke.

It's not really much of a joke, but I

found it funny, so I bought it. Don't

judge me. I got this as well. No!

I also got this Star Wars shirt. It's the

targeting thing when they blow up the

Death Star. I know I have a weird sense of

style. I don't know why, but for some

reason I'm attracted to those silly

t-shirts. So the time is 8 AM in

the morning. I didn't sleep all night. It

was my night off. So what did I do on my

night off, you might be asking. Um,

not much.

I spent about an hour reading about

Parkinson's disease for some reason. I

found it really interesting. It's a

disease where something happens to your

brain and it's— it loses the ability to

create dopamine, and then You slowly lose

control of your body. Oh, it's delightful.

Not. So recently I've been thinking a bit

about online dating websites, and about 6

to 7 years ago I used to be a paying

member on several online dating

websites, and people used to think I was

crazy. What, you spend that much money a

month on online dating websites? I think I

was paying around £20 a month. For— I

think it was just one website I was on and

I was a paying member. But if you think

about it, that's a lot cheaper than

actually going out and going to a club or

a bar to meet girls. Because if you go

out, you're gonna have to pay for

transport, and then you're gonna have to

pay for drinks and food. Well, you're not

just gonna go to a bar or a pub and stand

there and not have a drink or have

anything to eat. And then if you meet a

girl, you might have to buy her a drink as

well. You might have to buy her friends a

drink. Drinks aren't cheap, they're

expensive. And you're not really gonna

meet that many girls. How many girls are

gonna be in a pub or a nightclub? Not even

100, maybe not even 50. And you're

probably not even going to have time to

talk to all of them. You might just talk

to 5 or 10. So you've just spent all this

money just to talk to maybe not even 10

girls. But with online dating, you can

reach out to hundreds of girls all over

the world. From the comfort of your own

house. You could even do it on the toilet.

You could do it half naked. And if you go

to a nightclub, you're gonna have to dress

up nicely because they have a dress code.

You can't just go there in a hoodie. No,

you have to wear a nice shirt and have

nice shoes. So you have to pay for nice

clothes as well, plus drinks, plus food,

plus transport, just for one night. And

they think I'm crazy for spending £20 for

a whole month on the dating website? The

only downside I would say is that it's

kind of hard to tell if you're really

attracted to someone just by looking at

their photo, even if they send you 50

photos and videos of themselves. When you

meet them in real person, they come across

as very different to the photos and to the

mental image that you have created of them

just from the photos and the videos. I

feel like online dating has a bit of a

negative image. It's like you've failed

finding a partner in the real world, so

you have to resort to the digital world to

find someone. I get the feeling that a lot

of people would be kind of embarrassed to

admit that they use online dating

websites. I think some people see it as a

last resort for desperate people, but I

don't see what's wrong with it. I wouldn't

mock a person just because they're using

the internet to find someone. There's

nothing wrong with that. As for me, I

found a few people online that I've

actually met in real life. I dated one of

them. For 2 months and then we broke up.

Actually, she just deleted me from her

contacts and then blocked me from Facebook

and email. So that didn't really turn out

very well. And the other people I met, I

didn't really feel like there was a

connection. We didn't feel physically

attracted to each other. For me, I feel

like I don't really have much choice

outside of online dating because I can't

stand nightclubs. I don't enjoy drinking.

I don't like loud music. I don't like

dancing. I'm such a fun person! I wouldn't

even have the confidence to go up to a

girl that I found attractive and talk to

her. I wouldn't even know what to say.

What do you say to girls? Do you need to

have some kind of cheesy pickup line

prepared? I don't even know what I'd use

as a pickup line. Hey, I'm physically

attracted to you. Can we talk? Maybe one

day I should actually make a video where I

go to a nightclub and I get someone to

film me And I just say to every girl

there, hey, I feel physically attracted to

you, and then see what their response was.

And the whole dress code thing for

nightclubs is just stupid. I remember on

the Christmas party night, I went to get

picked up by my boss, and my boss saw my

clothes, and I was wearing my uniform

underneath this hoodie. She said, Daniel,

you're not going like that, are you? It's

formal dress code. Why would you want to

wear your uniform? To a Christmas party.

And I said, I don't know because I have to

work afterwards. She said, you take off

your uniform and then you get changed and

then you come back and then you put your

uniform back on. And I was like, I didn't

know that. Why does it matter anyway? So

she made me take off my uniform and I was

freezing cold, and then we went to the

Christmas party venue and it was really

dark, so you couldn't see what anyone was

wearing anyway. It was just stupid.

What if I wanted to wear my potato carrot

shirt to a nightclub? Could you imagine

how popular I would be if I wore this to a

nightclub? Come on, no one could resist

this. That's not

a carrot, it's a potato. My manager said,

if your mates invited you to go to a

nightclub, would you go dressed like that?

And I said, yeah, but I don't have any

mates to invite me to a nightclub in the

first place. I don't have friends, so the

joke's on you. Every time an attractive

girl comes into the petrol station and I

have to serve her, after I've served her

and she's left, my coworker always goes,

Daniel, you missed your chance! You should

have asked her if she's single. You should

have told her that she's beautiful. You

should have asked her to be your

girlfriend. No, that would be weird. You

don't go into a petrol station and then

expect to be hit on. That's just creepy.

That's £5.99, thank you. Here's your

change. Would you like the receipt? Would

you like a bag? Would you like a

boyfriend? Would I like a what?

No, that's totally inappropriate. I'm not

gonna hit on customers. So, um, those are

my thoughts on online dating.
