Why I can’t go back home to England

Hello, welcome back to my channel.

This video, this video, I don't

know if you can hear me. This video is

going to be about why I am in the

Netherlands and why I'm not going to go

back home anytime soon. So some of you

might be wondering, what have I been doing

here? Why am I here? Why don't I go home

back to my mum's house? And why was I in

Germany for such a long time? So all of

those questions will be answered today.

Okay, so I have the questions on my iPad

which arrived yesterday from England. My

mum sent it to me because when I went to

Germany, I didn't think I'd be in Germany

for such a long time. I thought I'd just

go there for a few weeks, have a bit of

fun, then go back home to England. And I

didn't feel like I really needed my iPad

weighing me down, so I left it at home.

But then, you know, Things happened,

plans changed, and 4 months

later, nearly 5 months later, I'm still

not back home. And I asked my mum if she

could send my iPad to me. So that is the—

let me see,

that is question number 3,

uh, why I left my iPad at home. Answered

that question. So we've got 2 more

questions to go. Why I'm in the

Netherlands. So I've been in the

Netherlands for 2 months now, more than 2

months, and you might be wondering why.

So some of you may already know this, you

may have guessed it, you may have sussed

it out, or maybe you just watch my

livestreams on my second channel where I

talk pretty openly about all of these

secrets. Uh, yeah, I am back with Mila.

If you remember Mila, the Dutch girl who I

met back in March. She stayed over in my

house for a few weeks during the lockdown,

and then I was pretty upset because we

were planning to meet up again in the

Netherlands, and then she suddenly decided

that she didn't want to meet me anymore.

I was very sad. I cried a lot. You

probably remember that whole embarrassing

saga when I was just constantly

whining and being sad. Anyway, I decided

to go to Germany to do some soul-searching

by myself and trying to find myself.

And I originally planned just to go to

Germany for a few weeks to, you know, do

some vlogging, explore Berlin. Well,

things kind of— some unexpected things

happened, and I ended up meeting Mila

again in Germany. She wanted to come to

Frankfurt, and we met up in Frankfurt,

and I kept the whole thing a secret.

Well, I tried my best to, because things

were— what's the word— things between

us weren't exactly very stable, and I

thought just vlogging everything that was

happening wouldn't really be a good idea

if I wanted her to carry on

seeing me again. So we met in Frankfurt

and we traveled around Germany, went to a

few places, went to Heidelberg, went to

some mountain, and it was nice. For a few

weeks we traveled around Germany. And then

we went back to Rotterdam together on the

bus. We traveled from Frankfurt to

Rotterdam, Rotterdam on the bus, and I've

been here ever since, since 2 months ago.

I lived in an Airbnb for a month, I lived

in a few hotels, I lived in a capsule

hotel, and then finally I am here in my

very own apartment in the city that I've

been living in for about 2 weeks now. So

yeah, the biggest reason why I'm here and

the only reason why I'm here is because I

want to carry on seeing Mila. And if I

went to a different country or went back

home, then obviously I wouldn't be able

to see her anymore, and that would be kind

of bad for me and maybe

her. And how it works between us is she

comes over here to stay a few nights, and

then she goes back to her home for

a couple days and then she comes back here

for a few days. So we're not permanently

living together every day, and that's not

a bad thing because I need my alone time

to be able to make videos and do streams

and do my jobs on the

internet. And the reason— I think some

people asked why don't I just go and live

at her house, and I was living there for a

few weeks before I got this place sorted

out. And although her home is lovely and

her family are lovely, I just don't really

want to be living in her home with

her family as a 31-year-old grown man. I

think it's kind of weird to be living with

her parents and her grandmother as a grown

man, as a grown adult, and it'll be kind

of hard to do my jobs with her family

around all the time. So I do need my own

privacy and my own personal space. That's

why I wanted my, my own apartment, and

that's why I'm not living at her home.

And I also want to add that my hair is not

greasy. I've noticed some people saying in

the comments, oh, Daniel's hair is so

greasy. It's not grease.

It's just a little bit wet because I came

out of the shower about an hour ago. This

is not what greasy hair looks like. This

is— this is freshly showered,

shampooed hair. As if I'd go

on camera with greasy hair. What do you

think I am? The second question that I

notice a lot of people asking is why don't

I go back home to my mum's house? Because

I've got a big house back home in England,

don't have to pay rent, and you know, I'm

English, so I guess it would make sense to

most people that I should live in England,

my home country. And I thought a lot about

this, and the reason why I don't want to

go back home to England is because I don't

really feel like there's any benefit of

being back home in England. Yeah, I've got

a big house and I can live with my family

and my mum, But as a 31-year-old

man, I don't really want to be living with

my parents anymore. I want my own place.

I want to feel like a proper independent

adult. Also, I find it a little bit

difficult living with my mum. After a long

period of time, it can get very stressful

living with her, and I don't really like

being nagged over tiny things like leaving

the coffee jar open or Or

leaving a bit of mud on the floor when I

come in from outside. It's just a little

bit frustrating as a grown adult to still

be nagged at from your mother. So I

think for the benefit of our mother and

son relationship, it's best if we don't

live together. Otherwise, we're going to

end up— Also,

as you know, I don't have any friends back

home in England that I really want to see

or meet. I don't even have any friends

anywhere. So there really isn't any reason

to go back home to England, and I might as

well just stay here because there's not

much difference. The other thing people

keep pestering me about is when am I going

back to Japan? Why don't I go back to

Japan because my content's boring now?

Number one, even if I wanted to go back to

Japan, Japan is not letting tourists or

foreigners into the country at Until at

least next year, April, because of the you

know what, you can't go to Japan unless

you're from South Korea or some other

close-by country. They're not letting

tourists in as far as I know. And even if

I go back to Japan, I don't know why

people think my content is gonna suddenly

become amazing like it was back when I

was married. My content

was not interesting as you think it was

back when I was in Japan because I was in

Japan. It was interesting because I was

married and I had a lot of marriage drama

because of Chihiro. Obviously, I'm not

married anymore. Obviously, Chihiro is not

going to be in the videos anymore. So the

kind of drama and interesting content that

I made last year when I was in Japan is

not going to happen Even if I went back to

Japan. And what would happen if I went

back to Japan is it would exactly be just

like how it is now. I'd get myself a place

to live in and I'd live in the place and I

would play games and do my stock market

stuff. And it still probably won't be much

difference— different. The only difference

would be, um, I'd be sad and lonely

because, well, I don't know if Mila would

come with me. Maybe she would.

And the other difference is maybe I'd do

some Japan-themed videos like Japanese

traditional inn or Japanese capsule hotel

tour or Japanese restaurant video.

It's— I don't think going back to Japan is

going to suddenly make my videos more

interesting like so many people seem to

be convinced of. So yeah, as of now,

I don't really have any plans to go back

to Japan in the short term. Maybe in the

long term, maybe at some point in the

future when everything calms down a little

bit, I could think about— I could consider

going back to Japan. I do feel like Japan

was a better country than the Netherlands

to live in. The Netherlands is a fine

country, it's great and all that, but it's

just really expensive. The rent here is

insanely overpriced and way too expensive

for what it is. Japan is just way cheaper,

way safer, better food. The people were

more civilized and friendlier than the

people are here. So yeah, I do— I would

prefer to live in Japan, to be honest.

But you consider things like the

you-know-what spreading and not going

away, that's kind of a problem. I am

considering other countries nearby that I

could live in and we could move to, which

has much cheaper rent. I think maybe Maybe

Spain or Poland could be,

could be an option. I heard Poland is

pretty cheap and it's supposed to be safe

and quite nice to live in. Maybe Germany

again, but Germany's also not that much

cheaper than the Netherlands. Possibly

France, but France seems kind of

dangerous. I don't really like France. So

yeah, maybe Poland or Spain could be an

option to move to. Really sorry if

you were looking forward to more Japan

content. I'm not saying it's completely

off the table. There is a possibility that

I could be going back to Japan in the

future. Maybe not in the near future, but

maybe in the middle to far future. It

could be a possibility. You never know.

But there is some good news. I recently

got myself one of these VR headsets. It's

the Oculus Quest 2, costs €450, and is one

of the best VR gaming headsets I have ever

used. So I've only used one other VR

gaming headset before, and that was the

HTC Vive, and that was really annoying to

use because it had cables, had to connect

it to your computer, the tracking for the

controllers was abysmal, just terrible,

kept losing tracking even when I was in a

well-lit room. And this has never lost

tracking of the controllers, not even one

single time. Even when it's dark, even in

the evening, even at nighttime, it has

complete 100% accuracy tracking my hands.

And it's just great. Look at this.

No cables. Don't have to plug it into a

computer. It's just completely standalone.

All the games are built into the device.

You can download and buy games and they

download straight into the device, not

onto your computer. And I play Beat Saber

and I got this special Elite Strap Look at

this Elite strap. It didn't come with this

strap. This strap cost €40 extra, and it's

so easy to tighten. You got this little

knob, twisting knob,

so really easy to put on and take off.

And if you, if you wear glasses, it's

fine. You can put— fit your glasses

straight into there, and it really isn't

any problem. My favorite game is Beat

Saber, a really fun game to keep yourself

active and physically fit if you're like

me and you don't really go anywhere and

just stay inside all day long. And I do
