Uh, welcome back to the 3rd weekend annual shareholder meeting. I'm going to discuss my plans

with the members of the board. First, I need my coffee.

So I've been thinking recently about my next step in life.

Hmm, yeah, thinking Thailand doesn't seem so bad anymore with this DTV visa.

So basically

How do I explain it?

The thinking behind it is life in the UK, £1,300 a month plus £3,500 a year for council tax, income tax, road tax, car insurance, MOT.

I would not have to pay any of that in Thailand. No car, no council tax, no income tax, no road tax, no MOT. I would be saving £3,300 a year just from that. And cost of living in Thailand, according to my calculations, at least half of what I'm paying now.

I've been on booking.com and I found some condos in Bangkok, a lot of condos actually, only £500 a month. Nice places as well in the central part of the city with a swimming pool, nice building, quite spacious. Basically looks like the one I had before. And I know £500 is kind of a rip-off In terms of,

I mean, if you're a Thai person, that would be a ripoff. But as a Westerner, it's like a bargain. Obviously, if you were a Thai person, that place would only cost you like 200 a month. But I don't have a Thai person to get me an apartment this time around, do I?

So I'm thinking like 500 even £400 a month condo, £100 food,

phone bill, I don't know, £10. What else am I paying? £50 a month for my monitor, which I'll probably sell. Well, I'm going to have to sell it. So my expenses are going to be like £600 or £700 a month in Thailand. That's insane compared to my current— currently I'm spending nearly £2,000 a month. Because apart from

basic expenses, I've also been paying for my car recently.

And a car is a massive sinkhole for money.

So yeah, I mean, Thailand looking very tempting, to be honest. And the DTV visa, basically anyone can get it as long as you have 500,000 baht savings, which is about £11,000. So what I'd do is I would sell the car for like £7K and then pull out some credit card cash into my account to make it up

to like, I don't know, £12K, round up to £12K. I'd get £12K, I screenshot the savings, apply for the visa. When I get the visa, I just put the money back from where it came from and then maybe I'll give some to my mum. And Yeah, I don't— it's not, it's not like the visa costs £11,000. You

just need to prove you've got £11,000. The actual visa is like £100 or something.

So I mean, I could do it now, to be honest. I just sell the car, get the £7K, move some money from my credit card into my bank account. I would have £11K, wouldn't I? And then I just have to apply for it. And I asked Copilot, he says, yeah, as long as you got the £11K, It's

not really any reason why you can't apply for it. You just got to tell them what you plan to do and what your job is, because it's basically for digital nomads anyway. And what you get is it's 5 years and you can stay up to 180 days a year and you can reenter the next year for another

180 days. But I also heard you can extend 180 days to 360 days for a full year. So it's sounding kind of tempting, to be honest. And I don't know if you can apply for it again after the 5 years.

So yeah, I mean, I'm kind of considering it actually.

And you think, oh, what's so great about Thailand? What are you going to be doing there? Basically, I'm just going to be doing what I'm doing now. I mean, the goal isn't to go there because there's some amazing fun thing to do there. It's just a way to do what I'm already doing now, but at 50% cheaper.

The price is basically the goal

and not to freeze my nuts off during winter. So what do you think?

And, you know, I was thinking of Japan, but looking at Japan, the cost to get an apartment is insanely expensive. And even if— okay, there's some cheap ones, like I found some in Fukuoka for ¥900 a month, but they look horrible. The Japanese apartments are so ugly. They've got like the brown, yellow, old-looking walls. The buildings look

ugly and old. The problem with Japan is it had its economic boom in the '80s and the '90s. Most of the country still looks like it did in the '80s and the '90s. So unless you're going to get a super modern, newly built apartment, everywhere in Japan looks ugly. Like the apartment buildings are ugly and old. Like

they look like old people's homes. You go onto Booking and look at some cheap apartments in Japan. It's like ugly tatami, the ugly yellow vanilla creamy looking plastics that they used to use in the '90s. You know, the horrible sound of the train going chook chook chook chook chook chook. Everywhere is just old people, like old people

waiting to die, living on their own in these little shoebox apartments. Japan is just kind of miserable to me at this point. I look at the apartments on Booking for Japan, for Fukuoka, because Tokyo is too expensive and you can get a place 900 a month, 1,000 a month, but it's so ugly. And then you go to

Bangkok and look for condos and it's like 500 a month and it's modern, like a modern new building. The interior looks modern, nice tiling, nice wall cabinets, furniture. It just looks good and it's half the price of what you get in Japan. So Japan just doesn't look appealing at all. Maybe. I mean, it's not even cheap and

you don't get a good, nice looking place for the money you pay. So I'd rather focus efforts on getting a visa in Thailand than spend a couple of months in Thailand, a couple of months in Japan. Japan's kind of dead to me still.

So yeah, I'm kind of tempted with Thailand, to be honest.

And then maybe within 5 years, I don't know, who knows what happens in 5 years.

After the DTV visa, it would be cool if I can get the Thai Elite visa, but that's like £20,000 and you got to pay £20,000. It's not just show you have £20,000, actually you got to pay the £20,000.

Japanese cities are so ugly, like the apartment blocks so ugly.

They need to like have a look at how they do it in Bangkok and take notes. Bangkok, they build Beautiful condo buildings, infinity pools, gym on the 5th floor, concierge, 5-class, 5-star service. Oh my God, it's so nice.

Japanese apartment life is just depression in a box.

And they sit on the floor with a little floor table sucking their little noodles. And the little daikon. It's like miserable. When I think of life in Japan, I just think it's so miserable looking. And old people as well, they're sitting there sucking on their noodles,

their little square tofu soaked in soy sauce.

So that's where my mind is right now. Obviously not now, but like End of the year, could be

beginning of next year, maybe. I don't know really.

What would I do with my place? Well, I would leave the place. I'm not going to rent this place and live in Thailand at the same time. So yeah, I'd leave this place, sell everything.

It's just really annoying now because I've set up, you know, it's easy to set up a life. You just buy stuff, you just buy things online and get it ordered. Dismantling a life, on the other hand, pain in the backside. I got to now dismantle my life that I built with Sunny or for Sunny. I got to

list my car on a car website. I got to take photos of it. I've got to take photos of my furniture and put it on Marketplace or whatever. I've got to take stuff to the dump. I got to cut up my rugs and put it into bags. I've got to ditch stuff that I'm not going to take

with me, like, I don't know, the 12-inch dildo maybe. I got to cut up Bobby Brown and set him on fire. I got to get rid of these little lamps, like these little lamps. I got to get rid of everything that can't fit in the backpack. And then I'm gonna sell the car, and then I've gotta tell

them I'm gonna move out, and then they're gonna do viewings whilst I'm living here, probably. Otherwise, how else are they gonna do viewings? They'll be like, are we doing viewing today, Daniel? Can you get out? Okay, where am I gonna go? Walk down the road. I think there's a pub down the road.

So, uh, it's like a pain in the backside. I gotta dismantle my life. I gotta sell this monitor. I gotta do that. I gotta do that. So annoying.

And then what, I got to book my ticket and then I got to get a taxi all the way to Heathrow, which is like a 4-hour drive.

Or else what, I drive my car to Heathrow and then sell it at Heathrow? Why Thailand? Number one, it is— Bangkok's very modern. Nice city. Number two, it's very cheap. No way you get another country that feels as safe and as modern as Bangkok for the prices of Bangkok. Bangkok is better than any Japanese city I've ever

been to, and yet it's a third of the price to get a nice condo in Bangkok. Like even in some shit city like Saitama or Kanagawa, get a service apartment like £1,500 and it looks horrible. It's like a stupid little. Shoebox with a bed in it and like a little kitchen cabinet. Japanese apartments suck and it's not

even cheap. It's like triple the price what you get in Bangkok. Thirdly, Thailand has very generous visa options that Japan doesn't have. Japan does not have the DTV visa. It's hard to move to Japan unless you've already got qualifications and you can get some kind of job or you're just rich and you can get like a self-employed

visa, or you just get married. Japan is a pain in the backside to get visas if you're broke, don't have any qualifications, and you don't have a wife. And it's not even nice there. I don't even like Japan anymore. Half the year is cold, and then the other half is just really hot, and then a third of

it is just not that bad, I guess.

So Thailand is cheap, it's modern. Bangkok is a really nice city. The Thai people are really nice and polite and friendly, unlike a lot of Japanese people who spit and tut and give you the evils and scream in your ear when you walk in at night.

And yeah, visa options, very cheap. The only one thing I like about Japan is the yen is very weak. It's still weak. But even so, the hotel and apartment prices are insane for Japan. It's like £2,000 a month to live in an Apple Hotel, which would just be miserable. Imagine living in a hotel for a month. I'd

go insane.

So I would only consider living in a condo or an apartment, not a hotel.

So yeah. Thailand looking pretty nice if I can get the visa, 5-year visa.

And also I wouldn't even need to make much money. Like, I wouldn't have to stress about making a lot of money because I'd be able to survive on very little in Thailand. So I wouldn't, I wouldn't even like try and bust my balls to make a lot of money. I just like casually whatever.

They're offering it to anyone as long as you got the 500,000 baht. The whole point of the visa is to encourage people to get it, so why would they not give it out if you meet the requirements?

If they didn't want people to apply for it, they wouldn't have made it an option in the first place.

So what I'd do is I would get the £12,000, apply for the visa, and then I would probably keep half of it and then maybe give my mum £5K.

I mean, if I paid the price I'm paying here in Bangkok, I'd get a massive 5-bedroom penthouse suite. £900 a month. That's what 80,000 baht a month. That's insane.

You don't need to spend that much. All I want is I want it to look nice and have enough room and be

peaceful so I can just concentrate on my work.

And then I've got to get the money and then apply for the visa. Oh my gosh, everything's just such a pain, isn't it? So I need to sell the car and get the money first, and then I can apply for the visa. And then if I don't get the visa, I'll go anyway. And then try and get

a student visa for a year.

So yeah, I have big plans because I'm so— I don't really see myself being here forever, to be honest. It was nice. Like, it was a nice idea to have a life in Britain with a car and a girlfriend. But Sunny fucked it all up, didn't she? Everything was going great until she just had a mental breakdown.

So it suddenly ruined my life, and now I've got to dismantle it to create a new life. It was a nice idea, wasn't it? Car, a job, a house, UK, no visa problems.

But I feel like

I could get

a similar standard of living in Thailand for half the price.

Because when winter comes, the electricity bill is going to be insane because I'm going to have the heating blasting all day long because I don't want to freeze. My electric bill is going to be like $200 a month. I'll have this heater and I'll have the other heater blasting all day long because I'm at home all day.

Well, I'm not going to notify anyone anything yet because I'm still thinking about it.

Also, uh, tech way cheaper in Thailand. Did you know iPhones in Thailand are way cheaper than in England? I did the comparison last year and it's like 10% cheaper in Thailand to get tech.

So if you want an iPhone or MacBook, definitely get it in Thailand. Also, you get VAT return if you leave Thailand within— I think it was 90 days within purchasing it. I couldn't get that because I was still in Thailand.

So you can get really cheap in Thailand, get the VAT return, and then go back to Thailand. You're supposed to declare it when you land in England, but yeah, I mean, who's gonna do that?

Because there were many times I nearly ditched all my stuff at Chihiro's place thinking I wasn't going to go back, but she was nice looking, so after I calmed down, I usually went back.

I used to love going to the parks in Japan at night and just pacing about trying to think about my next move.

They're really nice peaceful places. In Thailand you don't get places like that. There's barely any parks in Thailand and even when there are parks it's really noisy.

The woman was shoving me when When they were patting me down, they found coins in my back pocket, so I was like reaching around to take them out of my back pocket and they kept shoving my shoulder to keep me facing forwards.

They're so rude.

They speak really rudely as well, like, where's your ticket? You need ticket now. Sounds like my mum.

They just shout at you and shove you about, and they all look really miserable and sad or angry. Yeah, I would never fly China Airways ever again. I don't care about the money you save, it's not worth it because I don't print my ticket. Do you print out your flight ticket? I just buy the ticket and then

it's on my app saying that I've bought it. So when I go to the airport, I just show them my passport and then they bring up my details and they print the boarding pass. But I don't print my ticket, like the actual paper ticket. So they kept asking me where was my ticket and I said, here, it's

on my phone. And then they kept saying I needed a ticket. No, I don't.

I think it's because I didn't have the boarding pass for the transfer for some reason. I think I only had the boarding pass from one airport to the other, to the destination, but not the one for the transfer.

Yeah, it might have been for the boarding pass. I think I didn't have the boarding pass. I can't remember where I was going. I think it was Japan back home to the UK, and I had a transfer in China.

Yeah, maybe. I forgot now.

Do you remember I was actually considering not coming home for my sister's wedding? Because I wanted to stay in Asia. I feel like the main reason I came home to the UK was to go to my sister's wedding and also because I wanted to save up money to pay off my taxes, my debt.

But I was considering just staying in Asia and maybe skipping the wedding.

I didn't really know what I was thinking.

I kind of wish I, I didn't come home and I just went back to Thailand with Vasta after Japan

and I didn't get the car.

How things could have been different.

You tried to go to the UK for Christmas? Yeah. No, it wasn't about getting the visa, it was just realizing it was too expensive and not worth it. Oh yeah, yeah, we did need a visa and then I thought, oh, this is a pain in the backside, I can't be bothered. Yeah, Thai people need a visa to

go to the UK, which is so stupid. But I don't need a visa to go to Thailand. Oh yeah, it's because British people don't trust Thai people. It's kind of unfair, isn't it? So they think— they assume Thai people are coming to overstay and work illegally, so they require Thai people to have a visa to come here.

Um, yeah, she needed a letter from my mum inviting her to stay. And then she needed some money in her bank account, but she didn't have any money.

But her sister travels all around the world all the time and doesn't work because her mum gives her sister money, but she doesn't give Faster any money. One time we were in the car driving somewhere, and then Faster's on the phone to her mum And I understood a tiny bit of it. I knew it was about money.

They start shouting over the phone, and then Fasta's like crying. Fasta just starts crying on the phone, and then her driving becomes more and more reckless. And I'm like, oh my God, I'm gonna die.

Sometimes Fasta would get all emotional, and then she would like drive like a crazy person. Harsh braking, harsh accelerating. It was kind of scary.

She would do, you know, the thing people do that you should never do when you skip ahead a queue of traffic and then you try and cut in. She would do that all the time. It was so embarrassing. There'd be like a queue of traffic and then we'd just zoom down the empty lane and then try and

cut in the front.

She'd always do that. And then we'd get horned at.

And then this one time she was trying to cut past traffic by going in the opposite lane, and then all these cars came, so we had to stop.

But half the car was in the other lane and we were blocking half the road and all these bikes were like piled up behind us because they couldn't get through.

God, it was so embarrassing.

I felt scared.

She did some really weird things.

I don't know if Vasta's mum had, uh, some kind of preference, gave special treatment to her sister. The reasoning was because the sister was married, so she deserves the money, but Vasta's not married. Weird thinking. You would think the married one is being looked after by her husband, so she doesn't need handouts. And the unmarried one would

need handouts because the mother was quite wealthy. She had multiple real estate properties. She was like a real estate landlord.

The mum bought a really nice car for the sister. It was a Toyota Aircross SUV with 360 parking cameras, which looks really cool. It had like a 3D model of the car on the infotainment with 360 all-around camera view. Really, really nice car. And then Vassa's driving this old banger Toyota Yaris from early 2000s with 150,000 miles

on it.

I thought, damn, Vassa's mum is a bit of a bitch. I don't know why she treats Vassa so badly, but then she like showers the sister with money and gifts.

Also, Faster's mum wanted Faster to marry the crazy ex-Thai guy who nearly tried to kill me,

and apparently she was disappointed when Faster dumped him and dated me instead.

So it's like she was punishing Faster's defiance by not giving her money. She's like, Bend the knee or no money.

Seems like something Asian moms do. They use money as a way to control their children instead of using love and respect. They use money. It's fucked up. They're like, oh, you do what I say or you no inheritance. That's what Asian moms are like.

It's all about power and control.

So I found it annoying because I was wondering, how come your sister can go to the UK and travel so easily but you can't? And then she's like, oh, I got no money. And I've got no money too. I didn't want to have to like shell out thousands so she could get a visa and then shell out

thousands to buy, buy plane tickets just for what, a week or two at home? I already— at that point I owed my mom about £8,000. I didn't really want to blow a couple thousand pounds just to go home for Christmas and then get jet-lagged and go on the plane and everything. So we didn't go and I saved

a couple thousand. I felt good about it.

It's not like she was not making any money, it's just she spent all her money to pay off her debts, uh, house loans, house maintenance,

uh, car stuff. So she never had any money left over and then wanted me to pay for stuff like hotels and planes. And when we ate out, I had to pay,

cuz for Thai people, they expect the boyfriend to pay for nearly everything. That's just the Thai way. The man is supposed to look after the woman financially

and take on all the financial burden.

They're very traditional like that.

But I liked it when I was married to Chihiro and we split things 50/50. I thought that was nice.

Even with the rent, I had to pay all the rent, and we had arguments when we tried discussing splitting the rent. She said, if I have to pay half the rent, I'm leaving you. And I was like, Jesus.

She threatened to leave me if I made her pay half the rent.

We had so many spats over money.

I kept saying, oh, it's English culture. And then she said, oh, what about your sister and David? What do they do? I said, oh, I don't know, they probably split it 50/50. She said, okay, I'll ask her.

I didn't mind paying it all because it was so cheap. It was like £200 a month. I thought, okay, whatever, it's not worth fighting over £200.

Thai women can be kind of strange.

Yeah, I remember getting triggered, feeling more and more annoyed about the money thing.

Felt like, why am I paying for nearly everything?

I got her to pay for some of the hotel in Japan. After she came back from America, she gave me—

I think she gave me one $100 bill, and then she also booked the Apple Hotel that I trashed. She paid for the Apple Hotel,

and then I paid for the, the ryokan hotel and the Osaka apartment. And we scammed the Shinkansen, so we didn't pay for it. Did you know if you get on the Shinkansen from Shinjuku and you scan in your Suica card and you get off the Shinkansen at some random, like, little station in the middle of nowhere where

they don't have the Suica beep beep thing, you get off the train there and then you get a connecting train from there to Nagoya, you don't have to scan the Suica to get onto the connecting train to Nagoya. And then you get off at Nagoya and,

uh, what did I do?

Yeah, I went, I said to the train guy, um, I could— I can't— we can't scan the Suica cards because there's no beep beep thing. He said, oh, go to Nagoya. And do it there. So we went to Nagoya, and I think we just walked out the ticket barrier without scanning it and nothing happened.

So we ended up riding the bullet train to— I can't remember what it's called— that fancy village that Chris Broad went to. Went there

and then got back on the train to Nagoya.

And then took a bullet train from Nagoya to Osaka. But when we got to Osaka, we— for some, I don't remember why, but we didn't need to scan the Suica cards. We just scanned the bullet train ticket from Nagoya to Osaka.

Uh, still to this day, I got my Suica card and it still says travel in progress from Shinjuku because I never scanned it out. And then all— it had like ¥10,000 on the cards. Which is like $100 or something. So the money never got deducted for the train tickets, but we could still use the Suica card to

buy stuff. So we went to a supermarket and just loaded up the trolley with food and then used up all the money on the Suica cards. It was like ¥20,000. We just loaded up on food, bought everything. I said, we've only got a few days left, let's just blow all the money on the Suicas because it's not

anything else we can use it for. We got so much food. The funny thing is the food was so much better than the fancy ryokan dinner.

Good times. You're moving back to Thailand? Why? Well, I've been thinking

I could cut my living costs in half in Thailand.

That's basically the only reason,

because I'm paying so much money in taxes and insurance for a car and council tax and all that, and I wouldn't have to pay that if I was in Thailand. And also, I could get a condo in Bangkok for half the money that I'm paying for this house.

So I was thinking if I get the 5-year visa,

I could probably save a lot of money.

It's just an idea.

And I think living in Thailand would basically be the same as living here. How is it going to be different?

I don't remember why I didn't like living in Thailand.

The food was fine. I could get all the food I wanted.

It was just a— I always buy 2 tickets for myself and overpay to help support Japan. Oh wow, it feels good to do my part.

Yeah, so when I was in Thailand, I felt like I didn't have options and I was stuck doing YouTube because I couldn't get a job. So I wanted to come home and get a job to make more money, but now I don't want to get a job and I just want to do YouTube. So then Thailand would

make sense, wouldn't it?

I also don't care about having a car anymore because I don't want to do Amazon delivery work ever again.

So if I don't go and work and I don't have a girlfriend here,

I don't really need a car.

So I'm like thinking drastically

about wild things.

I do like my car. It's just I don't know how to use it. I don't really want to just randomly go on a drive and then go somewhere and then come home for no reason.

If it has a use, then yeah, I like having a car, but right now it feels like it has no use.

When things feel like they have no use, I want to ditch it.

When I was in Thailand, I really wanted to have a car and get a job and make more money, and I was getting fed up with YouTube.

The weather—

well, I'm inside nearly all the time, so it's not really going to affect me. And then when you do go out, you go to like a nice shopping center where it's all air-conditioned.

I don't know how much electricity it must cost them running all those air conditioners all the time in the shopping centers.

Why would I buy healthcare?
