why i HATE DOOM： The Dark Ages - VERY disappointing

Hello, welcome back to a new video.

So recently I've been playing the brand

new Doom: The Dark Ages, and as an avid

fan of Doom and first-person shooters in

general, I knew I just had to play this

game.

Unfortunately, so far it's been kind of

bland, boring, and lacking in a certain

kind of luster.

So this game is plagued with performance

issues, crashing upon the starting of the

game, and other such issues.

I know it's a new game, it's just been

released, but it should be expected by now

that games should be released in fully

working order without having too many

problems.

So when I first tried to boot up the game,

I had problems with it not starting, and

then I found out that the reason why it

doesn't start is because you have your

integrated graphics on.

And for some reason, if you have a laptop,

like a gaming laptop, like my gaming

laptop, which is a pro gaming laptop with

RTX 4050 graphics card plus integrated

graphics card, it will for some reason try

and use the integrated graphics card to

play the game instead of using the proper

graphics So you just go into settings and

then you have to disable the integrated

graphics card by going into ultimate mode,

which then only uses the RTX 4050 and

turns off the integrated graphics card.

Upon doing so, I then realized that I can

actually play the game, but I couldn't use

my preferred screen recording software.

Bandicam just wouldn't seem to work with

this game, so I had to record the game in

Streamlabs, which is why the video kind of

looks different as usual.

So after realizing I had to disable

Bandicam and the integrated graphics card,

then the game would work.

So the game looks kind of rubbish, to be

honest.

It looks like an old game.

It doesn't feel like a new game.

It doesn't feel like a game that came in

2025.

It kind of looks like a mobile game, to be

honest.

Uh, when I play this game, it makes me

feel like this could be on the App Store.

Like, uh, Call of Duty Warzone on mobile

doesn't really look that much different to

this game.

And I know I'm playing on low settings,

but seriously, even on low settings the

game shouldn't look like a mobile game.

It even plays and runs like a mobile game.

So if you've ever played Doom before, you

know what Doom's like.

It's very arcadey.

There's no reload.

You can run really fast.

Even the running is weird because there's

barely any head bobbing, so it just feels

like you're floating along the ground all

the time.

And everyone said the Doom franchise— I

think it's a stupid franchise and it's a

very boring game where you basically just

run around shooting really stupid dumb

enemies, hordes of them, with either a

shotgun or more, more ridiculous weapons.

So the gameplay is extremely tedious.

You're just running around these stages

which are very dull and dark looking, very

boring to look at.

The enemies are basically just these weird

zombie mutant things, very bog standard,

nothing original or interesting here.

The enemies are so boring.

You either get the really dumb enemies or

these slightly stronger demon things which

you're supposed to do like a combo melee

thing and finish them off.

The finishing move looks rubbish.

I remember in the previous finishing— the

previous Doom games, when you did a

finishing move, it did like an execute,

like a cool animation where you do

something really gory and destroy them.

In this one, you just kind of punch them

and then their body explodes into bits,

and then some glowy orbs float out to

replenish your health.

I don't know why, maybe it's the beginning

of the game, maybe you don't have the

ability to perform like a proper execute

yet, but it's just so lame when you do the

perform execute and then you just punch

them and they float away with all the arms

coming off.

It's not cool, it's lame.

The game looks like a game that was

released in 2002 with slightly refined

graphics.

The gameplay is very boring.

You're just spamming the jump button

infinitely because it makes it more fun, I

guess, than just running.

And why not?

There's no punishment for spamming the

jump button.

There's no punishment for anything.

Like, you could spam the shoot button,

there's no reload.

You spam the jump button.

There's no stamina bar.

You can just spam anything and run really

fast and like do teleport shield bashes.

The game has no strategic element to it at

all, and it's just like a run-and-gun,

really dumb run-and-gun game where you

just spam the attack button and you kill

loads of enemies.

And maybe that's what you like, but I

don't really like it.

I find it extremely boring.

It's, um, yeah, I guess it feels fluid and

it's nice because it feels good when

you're moving around and shooting stuff

without anything holding you back like

stamina or gravity even.

And I guess in that kind of sense it is a

nice feeling game, but an altogether

pointless feeling game because you never

really feel like anything's difficult.

And then when things do get difficult,

it's just annoying because then you've got

loads of enemies shooting stuff at you,

you've got to dodge them.

Well, I'm doing a shield thing.

So I guess the gimmick with this game is

you've got a shield now, so now you can

shield and do like a teleport shield bash.

But yeah, I don't really like the game.

I'm gonna refund it already.

I'm gonna give it a 3 out of 10.

Uh, not very good.

The main gate is under lockdown.

There's a key in the nearby church.

Route them the location.
