What the hell was that? I don't know what

just happened. I feel like I've just been

part of a Welcome to the NHK episode. I'm

pretty sure that was a pyramid scheme.

That was so weird. How do

what just happened. Give me a second.

Okay, so here's what happened. Last night

I met this Japanese guy at the guest house

and he asked me if I wanted to go to his

friend's house to have lunch. So I said

okay, why not, since I had nothing better

to do. So I went to his friend's house

today and it was really weird. He just

left me. He took me to this mansion or

this apartment and I went in there And

then he kind of just left, and there were

these other people in there, and it was

weird. It was really weird because it

didn't look like the kind of place that

people actually lived in. It looked like

an office or a classroom. They had tables

and a whiteboard, and there were 3 girls

there, and they looked fairly attractive.

They were wearing a lot of makeup, kind of

sexy clothing, and there were 2 guys there

as well, and they looked really awkward,

like they didn't know each other. But the

girls seemed like they knew each other,

the way they spoke to each other. And I

went in there, and then the guy that I met

at the guest house, he just said he had to

leave to do something else. So I was like,

okay, and I just stayed there. And the

girls started making food. They started

making chicken or something.

um, and they started asking me questions,

like, to make conversation. It was really

strange. I thought it was like some kind

of dating thing where random guys meet up

with random girls to go on like a group

date. But it also kind of felt like I was

in a place where you can pay for sex. The

girls looked really slutty and kind of

dim. So they made us food, and after we

finished eating They cleared everything

away, and then they started putting out

tables, and two of them got out all of

these cleaning products like soap and

washing up liquid. え ー まあ 結 構 男 の 人

what was going on. It was a pyramid

scheme, you know, just like in that

episode on Welcome to the NH K when S ato

gets tricked by that girl. Into going to

that meeting, and then she starts doing

this demonstration of products. It was

exactly like that. There's also this other

woman. She looks like she was about 50

years old. She looks really old, and I got

the feeling that she was the boss, like

she was in charge. And she was just

sitting there watching us, taking notes,

writing things into a notebook. And then

me and the other Japanese guys, we were

just sitting there watching them do this

demonstration on how to use soap. And one

of the Japanese guys seemed kind of

polite, and he was actually pretending to

be interested in the products. So the

older woman took him into one of the

rooms, just the two of them, and they

started having a chat. I think she was

trying to turn him into a member or sell

him stuff. I felt kind of sorry for those

two Japanese guys. I'm pretty sure they

got tricked into going there. Maybe they

thought they was going to go on some kind

of date with the girls, and then they got

brought to that apartment, and then they,

they couldn't escape. One of them was this

49-year-old, really shy-looking Japanese

old guy, and the other one was this

27-year-old, also very shy-looking

Japanese guy. And we just sat there, we

didn't even talk to each other. It was,

it was the most awkward thing I've ever

experienced. So after the girls finished

showing us the soaps and washing-up

liquids, they put them all away And they

made us a cake. And one of the Japanese

guys was in the room with the older

Japanese woman, and the other guy and me

and the rest of the girls, we were sitting

there eating cake. And I started thinking

to myself, how can I get out of this

situation? So I finished eating my cake,

and I decided to make up this lie that I

had to meet a friend somewhere else. So I

got up, I said, excuse me, I have to go

meet my friend. And they seemed kind of

disappointed. And they said okay, and I

quickly rushed to the door. I put my shoes

on. I didn't even tie my shoelaces because

I just wanted to get out of there. I felt

like I was gonna— I was going to get

kidnapped or murdered or something. So I

put my shoes on and I left the apartment

and I went straight for the elevator. And

I was pressing on the elevator button as

quickly as I could, and then one of the

girls, she came out, she chased after me.

She was calling my name. She said that I

had to pay ¥500 because they made me food.

So I said okay, and I paid her ¥500, and I

said, thanks, it was fun, see you later.

And I just went back to the elevator, and

I got onto the elevator, or into the

elevator, and that's where the beginning

of this video starts. They were selling

some kind of cleaning products under this

company name called Amway, A-M-W-A-Y,

And if you Google it, it will come up with

this company that's listed as some kind of

multi-level corporation where they,

where they sell cleaning products. And in

this apartment, they had loads of cleaning

products from this company called Amway.

It was, it was so suspicious and shady.

I'm not sure what would have happened if I

had stayed. Maybe they would have tried to

sell me products, or maybe they would have

tried to make me into a member of the

company. Isn't that how pyramid schemes

work? I'm not too sure. I felt really

sorry for those 2 Japanese guys. They

looked like they were really well dressed,

as if they were expecting to go on a date,

and they seemed like they were too polite

or they didn't have the guts to just get

up and leave. I'm not sure if they're

still there. Maybe they stayed until the

end. That would have been quite

impressive. You know, on second thoughts,

maybe I should have stayed until the end.

Then there would have been more to this

video, more to this story. But I just, I

felt like I needed to leave straight away.

It was just really unbearable sitting

there pretending to be interested in, in

soap. It was just so obvious what they

were trying to do, these girls. They were—

it was as if they were performing, like

they were acting when they was doing the

demonstration. It felt like they've done

it loads of times before. I'm pretty sure

they use that apartment as some kind of

office where they bring guys that they've

seduced or trapped so they can try and

sell them these cleaning products. It's

really shady. I don't know how that's

legal. It must be illegal, right? What

should I do if I see that Japanese guy at

the guest house again? Should I punch him

in the face? I don't want to confront him

about it. It's kind of awkward,

embarrassing. I just want to pretend it

never happened.

We're in a graveyard.

There's lots of dead people here.

Am I allowed to take videos in graveyards

in Japan? I feel like I'm being very

disrespectful right now. Oh well.

Ooh, spooky. It'd be pretty

cool to come here at night. Are you

allowed to come here at night? Maybe they

close it off.

video to 10 minutes, but there doesn't
