Unboxing my BRAND NEW M3 MacBook Pro 14 inch

Hello, welcome back to a new video. So

today we're going to unbox my brand new

MacBook Pro 14-inch M3,

8GB of RAM, 512GB storage

model, base model M3 MacBook Pro.

So I have to be honest, I've already

unboxed this yesterday, but I thought we

could do like a re-unboxing for the video

for you know, memory's sake, I put

everything back in the box exactly how it

was so we can start the unboxing

experience together again, just like it's

Christmas all over again. Okay, so I raise

up the camera a little bit.

Um, okay, so we've got 2 pull tabs here.

And we flip it over. Look at

that, I got the silver version. Actually,

I got Space Gray first, but then I changed

my mind and changed it to silver. Silver

looks so much better. Why did I get gray?

If they had a pure white version, that'd

be even better, but they don't. So it

comes in this kind of like

a baking tray kind of paper. It does tear

like paper. Look, it's like

weird cheap paper. I guess it's

biodegradable or something. It feels like

the kind of baking tray paper you use to

make a pie or cake. So it comes in there,

and then you got braided charging

MagSafe charging cable.

Yeah, so you got MagSafe And then

you got the power brick. The power brick

is so tiny, look at that, compared to the

Razer Blade gaming laptop I had which had

a massive actual size brick. This is so

tiny. So this is the 70-watt charger.

It did give me the option to buy a 96-watt

charger for more money, but don't really

care that much about being able to charge

it super quick. Okay, let's open up the

MacBook.

Wow,

look at that silver!

The good thing about silver is it doesn't

show fingerprints as well as the darker

colors. The midnight blue of the MacBook

Air M2 was

covered in fingerprints at the store. It

looks so gross. And also the Space Black

was kind of covered in fingerprints too.

The Space Gray still covered in

fingerprints but less visible. But the

silver, I mean, I can just like touch it

all over the place and you don't really

see fingerprints on it. So definitely go

for the silver if you want a cleaner look.

Can zoom in.

Yeah, it's really hard to see fingerprints

on it. I'm really trying

here, but I can't get the fingerprints to

show up at all. So I definitely recommend

silver. And then

on the back side, we have the

metal engraved MacBook Pro logo.

You can see this is made out of metal.

That's the problem though, making it out

of metal makes it so much heavier. You do

get these weird smudges under it. I don't

know where those came from. I know making

it out of metal makes it feel more

premium, but if it was made out of

plastic, they should do like a cheap

MacBook MacBook made out of plastic,

because I would buy that if they just made

it look like a MacBook but it was made out

of plastic and it weighed a lot less.

That'd be so nice. And you've got the

little 4 rubberized pads for stability.

You have these fan vents as well on either

side. You know, I've been using this for a

whole day now. I haven't once heard the

fans start spinning. Didn't feel any air

blowing out of these, maybe because I'm

not doing anything to make the CPU really

sweat. Actually, I got a CPU monitor and

it's always around 10 to 15% CPU

load, so I'm not really doing anything.

Maybe I should have gotten the MacBook— I

mean, the MacBook Air instead of the Pro,

since all I do is just watch YouTube,

browse the internet, chat on Discord, do

some light video editing. But I got the

MacBook Pro over the Air because I wanted

the M3 chip, not the stupid M2 chip from

last year. And I could have waited until

next year for the M3 MacBook Air, but I

didn't want to. I want it now. And also

the Pro has different things, like it's

got a fan so you could do prolonged gaming

sessions, whereas the MacBook Air, if you

tried gaming on it, probably get really

hot and then start to throttle. And also

this Pro has allegedly better speakers,

better screen, and I don't

know how it's going to be better than M3

MacBook Air when that comes out. Maybe

I'll refund this and get the M3 Air

because the Airs were really light. Like

the M3— I mean the M2 15-inch MacBook Air

was so light and really thin, whereas this

is kind of chunky. It's still thin, don't

get me wrong, but it doesn't have that wow

factor like the MacBook Airs did with the

thinness. It's still really light. I don't

really notice much of a difference. This

is 1.6 kg compared to the MacBook Air

13-inch, which was 1.2 kg, I think.

And then the MacBook Air M2 15-inch is

like 1.5 kg. Not that much difference,

but then you get a 15-inch screen. This is

a 14-inch screen, so it's like 1-inch

difference. Okay, so open up the MacBook.

And usually this is stuck to the screen,

but I already took it off. So then,

yeah, that's the MacBook.

And you got Touch ID— that little button

does Touch ID. You got the keyboard. The

trackpad is pretty nice, but I don't use

trackpads. I use my mouse. But it's nice

to have a nice trackpad. In case you need

it. Like, you might be sitting on

a bed with this on your lap, then you

won't have your mouse, would you? Or you

might be on an airplane with this on your

lap or the front tray, you won't have your

mouse. So it's always good to have a good

trackpad. Problem with it is you can't tap

to click unless you go into the settings

and change the settings. So for now you

have to click, like actually physically

click it instead of tapping it, which is

really annoying. There's a few default

Apple settings that I find really annoying

that I always have to change. For example,

scrolling. So they do this thing called

natural scrolling. So when you scroll

down, it makes things go up, and then

if you scroll up, it makes things go down.

Now that makes sense when you're finger

scrolling on like a phone screen or a

touchpad, but when you have a mouse with a

scroll wheel, it feels really weird. So I

always have to switch off natural

scrolling because it's not natural at all.

And then also I always have to switch off

the physical push down to click. I like

tap to click, but I haven't done that yet.

And there's a few other things I had to

make changes to. I'll give you some

close-ups of the keyboard before it gets

all covered in my finger oils. Still

pretty clean. The problem is I have seen

people say that this black keyboard, um,

picks up a lot of finger oil, and the

finger oil looks very greasy and visible.

Because it's like very black. The problem

with having black or dark colors on

keyboards, it really shows things like

fingerprints and oils very clearly. So I

guess you're gonna have to try and keep

this clean as you can. Stupid finger oils.

But yeah, it's a really nice keyboard.

I do kind of miss having the Windows key,

to be honest, because there's no Windows

key. You got Control, Option, and Command.

I don't really know what they do. They

don't do anything. Look, on their own they

don't do anything. And then you've got

this one, changes your— changes your

keyboard.

Wait, so I got Japanese and English

currently. So that's pretty useful to

change your keyboard, but pressing these

doesn't do anything. You have to like

press them in combination with each other.

To do shortcuts. I don't really feel very

familiar with the Mac shortcuts yet, so I

kind of miss the Windows shortcut. Like,

Function+P does a screenshot, Windows+L

locks the screen. I don't know what the

Mac ones are yet. I guess I have to learn.

But I do really like the keys above

because you can control the volume really

easily just by pressing that.

Look, press that, mutes it. Volume down,

up. This one, brightness up and down.

Windows can do it too, but you have to

hold down Function and then press it.

It's nice to just have it right there.

And then you also got the Search tab,

Spotlight search, microphone. You got

this, shows you what's open right now.

Nothing's open. And the, the calculator

that comes with the MacBook is really

rubbish. I had

to download a different— look, this is the

calculator, and the problem is it doesn't

show you the history of what you've

calculated. So you do 33 plus— it doesn't

show the plus sign next to the numbers.

If you make a mistake and put plus, oh,

333 instead of 33, you can't undo the

mistake. So I got this calculator. See,

it's way more detailed. You can

do that, do that. If you make a mistake,

you can delete it, delete that. See, I do

times 22 instead of times 2,

then yeah, I can go back by pressing

delete. See, that is so nice because I do

calculations, sometimes I press the wrong

button and I need to know like the history

of what I've added in case I forgot to add

something. So yeah, this calculator is

really nice. Would be nice if the stock

calculator could actually do basic things

like that. Yeah, so that's the unboxing
