[2020-08-30] The Truth behind Chinese 'Massage Parlours' in Japan [UyjyB_vi8Ds]

Have you ever walked down a street in

Japan and walked past a sign that says

infomen in green letters? If the answer

is yes, then you may find yourself in an

area where there are many establishments

that cater towards men. I remember when

I first encountered these infomen

buildings, I wasn't sure what they were.

It says on the outside they provide free

information. But they don't say what kind

of information they are providing.

Usually there's a smartly dressed man

standing by the entrance, but I never had

the courage to go inside. If you walk

around the area and explore the back

alleys and the little streets, you may

find that there's lots of massage parlors.

However, these are not ordinary massage

parlors. One day, my friend Bilbo was

walking home, and he decided to walk down

one of these back alleys so he could get

to the train station. Station quickly. As

Bilbo made his way down this alleyway, he

noticed a middle-aged Japanese man

squatting on the floor. As Bilbo started

to walk past him, the Japanese man called

out to Bilbo and waved. Now Bilbo wasn't

sure what to do. He had to get home

quickly, otherwise his girlfriend might

start to get a little bit suspicious. But

he was feeling curious and confident that

day and decided to walk up to the

middle-aged Japanese man and see what he

wanted. The Japanese man spoke some broken

English and said something about 30

minutes and ¥10,000. Now, if you look at

the outside of the building, you can see a

sign saying something about massage, and

Bilbo thought to himself, 30 minutes for a

massage that costs ¥10,000 seems kind

of expensive to me.

Hmm, but the sign on the outside clearly

says ¥3,000 for 30 minutes. Why is the

Japanese guy saying that it's ¥10,000?

The Japanese guy smiled and said ¥10,000

is for the premium course. Bilbo thought

to himself he should be getting back home,

but he does have some time to spare and

his man drive was being activated. He

reached into his back pocket and fished

out a crisp ¥10,000 note and handed it to

the middle-aged Japanese man. The Japanese

man happily accepted the ¥10,000 note and

told Bilbo to sit down on the sofa. He

then took out this book which contained

photos of Asian ladies. He pointed at

the ladies and told Bilbo that he had to

choose one. Bilbo wasn't really that

bothered because to him they all kind of

looked the same. There was a collection of

middle-aged looking Asian women wearing

a lot of makeup in fancy costumes.

Bilbo randomly pointed at one of the

photos of the women and said, this one.

The middle-aged Japanese guy smiled and

said, you made a good choice. Please wait

here for a moment. The Japanese guy then

comes back and says to Bilbo, Please come

this way. And there's a door, it opens,

Bilbo goes through it, and there's

different compartments with beds and

curtains in front of the compartment

entrances. He walks over to one of the

compartments where the curtain door is

open, and inside there is an Asian lady.

The Asian lady looks like she's in her

40s, late 30s, possibly mid-40s.

And she begins speaking to Bilbo in

Japanese, and her Japanese is fairly good,

but, but Bilbo notices that her Japanese

isn't exactly fluent. And because Bilbo

speaks really, really good Japanese, he

can tell the difference between a Japanese

person speaking Japanese and a foreigner

speaking Japanese, even if the foreigner

was really good at Japanese. Bilbo is

usually pretty good at distinguishing

between the two. The Asian lady is

obviously not Japanese, possibly from

China or some other Chinese country,

and she's very friendly and nice. She

takes Bilbo by the hand and gestures to

him. She says it's time to have a shower,

and she leads him over to the shower

cubicles. They get into the shower

together, and she, and she gives Bilbo a

vigorous washing. Bilbo starts to shiver

because it was quite cold and the water

wasn't very warm. The shower ends quickly

and the Asian lady gets a towel and dries

Bilbo off. She then takes his hand and

leads him back to where the bed was. Hmm,

this is strange, Bilbo thought to himself.

Why do I have to take a shower before

getting a massage? Well, Bilbo was about

to find out that this massage would be

like no other massage he had ever

experienced. The Asian lady closed

the curtains and then she— Next,

she told him to lie on the bed and— And

then she put her— Up his— And

then he took her by the— It was

all over in about 15 minutes.

And Bilbo felt so satisfied. He felt

satisfied in ways that his girlfriend

could never satisfy him. He absolutely

loved this Chinese-style massage,

and he would frequently go back there

every Friday. He was lucky because it was

nearby where he lived, and it only took

about 10 minutes to get there by train.

He could get there and back and get his

massage within half an hour. Bilbo got

dressed and said thank you and goodbye to

the nice Asian lady, and then he walked

towards the entrance area where the

middle-aged Japanese man was waiting. The

Japanese man looked kind of sheepish and

said sorry for some reason as Bilbo was

walking out. Bilbo wasn't quite sure why

the Japanese guy was apologizing, but he

smiled and nodded. And left. Bilbo arrived

home and his girlfriend didn't suspect a

thing. This carried on for 2 years. For 2

years, Bilbo was going to this Chinese

massage parlor on a regular basis and no

one knew about it.

Hello and welcome back to another episode

of Cooking with Daniel. Today we're going

to be making real Angus burgers with these

beef patties from the supermarket, and we

have 2 slices of bread and a tomato.

So I'm using bread because I didn't buy

burger buns, and I thought bread is pretty

much the same as a burger bun, it's just

slightly different shape. It'll be fine.

And I haven't even cooked the burgers yet,

and they already smell really good.

They smell well seasoned. So first

of all, you want to heat up your wok.

Whoa, that is pink, but it looks red. Oh,

I'm not sure if I want 2 burgers or just

one. One might be enough. Uh, I think I'll

make 2, and if one is enough, then I'll

just save the other one for later.

Next, you want to cut your tomato using

your scissors. Now, this is how you use

scissors to slice a tomato. You just stick

it in like that and then cut

like this all

the way around.

And then just twist it and it will come

apart like this.

And then put the tomato onto the burger— I

mean, onto the bread like this.

And then we're going to put the bread with

the tomato into the oven,

and we'll use the pizza setting,

and we'll cook that.

Now, as you can see, the burger is

starting to smell very good, and we can

flip it, and hopefully it

will be cooked in the middle as well.

And that is how you make the perfect Angus

burger. So if we check the middle

to see if it's cooked, I can confirm that

It's cooked.
