Can't believe my boss is doing this to me...

So apparently my boss, my manager, has

been watching everything that I've been

doing on the CCTV. Yeah, there's CCTV in

the store, so I guess it kind of makes

sense that she would be watching

everything that I've been doing. If you

get a new employee, then you're going to

want to check up on what he's been up to

when he thinks he's not being watched. I

knew there were cameras in the store and

that she had access to the CCTV in her

house, but I didn't— I I wasn't expecting

that she was watching everything that I

was doing. That's kind of creepy, isn't

it? And I kind of panicked because I

do a lot of weird stuff when I'm alone.

Let me tell you. So one of the things we

have to do at work is do the drinks, see

what's missing from the drink shelf, and

go into the storeroom and take out all the

new drinks that need to go back into the

shop. And what the other people do is they

stand in front of the drinks for like 5

minutes trying to remember what they need,

and then they go back to the storeroom and

then they get the drinks that they need.

And I thought this was a really stupid way

of doing it. I mean, why just stand there

and attempt to memorize all the drinks

that are missing when you could just write

a list of what's missing and then go back

into the storeroom, look at the list, and

take out what you need? So that's what I

did. I was writing a list, so for example,

if you needed 5 Cokes, then I'd write 5

Cokes. I'd go back to the storeroom and

then get 5 Cokes and then cross it off the

list. And I thought that was a pretty good

idea, like a good solution to the problem,

but apparently no. The boss has been

watching me on CCTV and she said— she said

to the Bangladesh guy to tell me all this.

I didn't talk to the manager herself, I

just talked to the Bangladesh guy who told

me last night. And he said that she was

like, why is Daniel writing a list and

taking so long crossing off the list,

stuff off the list, doing it that way? He

should just memorize everything and then

do it that way. But the problem is I can't

memorize all these drinks. There's like a

huge drink selection, all these different

brands, and it's impossible to remember

everything that's missing. It doesn't make

sense, and it's so frustrating because It

means I can't come up with solutions to

the problems I have at work and try and do

things my own way. I have to do it how

everyone else is doing it, even though

their way is less efficient and there's an

easier way of doing things. So I said,

okay, I'll do it your way. And I didn't

print off a list. I didn't print off a

piece of paper to write my list, and I

just tried remembering all the drinks that

are on the drink shelf. And it must have

taken me over an hour. I went back and

forwards from the storeroom to the drink

section maybe 5 to 6 times just because I

couldn't remember all the drinks that are

on the drink shelf that needed to be

refilled. This is stupid because the boss

said, I don't want Daniel writing a list

when he does the drinks because it takes

so much time. I want him to remember. But

having to remember takes even more time

because I can't remember. I don't have a

robotic memory that I just look at the

drink shelf and I go Okay, I've memorized

all the drinks that are needed. It was

just so frustrating because I went

backwards and forwards like 6 times

getting drinks. I kept bringing out the

wrong drinks, or I kept bringing out not

enough drinks. But after about an hour and

a half, I finally managed to finish it. I

just wish they let me do things my way

because I feel like that was a good idea.

That was a good solution to the problem.

Can't remember? Write it down. It's like

waiters that when they take your order,

they write down your order, but then you

get some waiters who think they're so good

and they try and memorize the whole thing,

then they end up fucking up the order.

And she also saw me playing games on my

phone. I don't know how she saw that

because yeah, there's CCTV, but I didn't

realize that she could zoom in so much and

actually see what I'm doing. What I

usually do when I work with the Nepal guy,

he sits behind the till and I don't have

any— anything to do because there's hardly

any customers, so I just stand there and I

usually go on my phone and I play games

instead of talking. And she saw me playing

games behind the till and she told the

Bangladesh guy that I shouldn't be playing

games. And she said that something

like, Daniel doesn't— Daniel and the Nepal

guy, they don't talk at all. They just—

the Nepal guy sits there and Daniel plays

on his phone, which is true. We don't talk

at all. At the beginning we used to,

like, I'd go in, stand behind the till,

and then the pool guy would start randomly

talking about the same old shit. He'd

always start talking about girls and about

picking up girls, and then he'd always say

the same thing, like, Daniel, if you want

a girlfriend, you have to speak up a bit

more. Girls don't like really quiet guys.

You have to approach them. I don't care.

I didn't ask your opinion. I didn't ask

for your relationship advice. I don't

understand why he keeps telling me the

same thing over and over. He's told me

this story about girls and how to pick up

girls like 5 times. Not once did I ask

him, hey, Nepal guy, I'm looking for a

girlfriend, can you give me some advice?

Not once did I ask him that. That's why I

get fed up talking with him, because he

always talks about the same old shit and

it gets really tiring. So Recently, I just

play on my phone. I don't even— we don't

even talk. It's like an hour goes past,

he's sitting there like looking miserable

and sighing, and I'm standing here playing

on my phone like this. And I guess the

boss saw it on the CCTV camera and she

must have thought, Daniel is really weird,

he doesn't talk to his co-workers.

So the Bangladesh guy, he said that I

shouldn't play games behind the till

because she'll see. I told him that I

usually play games in the kitchen when I'm

waiting for stuff to be cooked. He said

that's fine. And then he also says— said

about the scratch cards, he said that I

shouldn't, um, if it's before 6

AM, I'm allowed to play scratch cards on

my break, but I'm not allowed to buy the

scratch card myself. I have to ask the co—

my coworker to, to do the transaction for

me instead of doing the transaction myself

on the till. If it's after 6 AM, then it's

okay, then I can do the transaction on the

till myself, but if it's before 6 AM, I'm

not allowed to do it myself. Why? I don't

know why. Why does it matter if I do it

myself or get someone else to do it for

me? I have no idea. And when I cash out on

scratch cards, it's the same. If it's

before 6 AM, I can't just cash out the

money from the till, and if I win

something on a scratch card, I have to get

my coworker to do it. But if it's after 6

AM, then it's okay. That doesn't make any

sense at all. It's not really a problem

because usually I don't play scratch cards

before 6 AM. 6 AM. But there was this one

time when I took a scratch card and I

didn't pay for it, and I'm kind of

worried. Did she see that? And when I

first started the job, I did a lot of

shady things like that just because it was

fun. Hey, I'm working in this big shop,

there's all this stuff here. Will they

notice if I pinch a scratch card? Will

they notice if I pinch a KitKat?

They haven't said anything so far, but I'm

pretty sure they have noticed because they

do stock checks. So I, I did stop doing

that. But it made me really worried. What

else has she seen me do? Because sometimes

I get very hungry, and when I'm doing the

cooking, um, I put on an extra sausage

onto the cooking tray, and after I

finished cooking, I just cut the sausage

up into tiny pieces and I'd eat it. And I

did do this with my back towards the

camera because I know where the cameras

are. You can see where they are. So I

don't think she's seen me doing that yet.

I'm not sure. She would have said

something, right, if she saw me doing

something like that. I don't really see

what the big deal is because how much is a

sausage worth? It's like 20p, and I get so

hungry. I'm a skinny guy, but I eat a lot,

especially during the night. I'm non-stop

eating, just snacking on stuff and

pinching stuff, and I'd walk around the

shop while I'm working eating like a

packet of crisps or eating Kit Kats.

I always have a massive packet of Kit Kats

in my jacket pocket and I'm just eating

Kit Kats all night. And I did this a few

times when I was doing the cooking. I

snuck on an extra sausage or I put on an

extra hash brown onto the cooking tray and

I just ate it. I don't know if they

noticed or not. I just get so hungry and

it's so hard to resist the temptation.

Well, sometimes, sometimes when you're

doing the bacon sandwiches and you're

cooking the bacon, I would cut off like a

tiny piece of bacon and I'd eat it.

Obviously I wouldn't do it— I'd have my

back towards the camera, so I'm not sure

if she's seen me do that yet. It's just,

it's just a bit stressful knowing that

your boss has CCTV footage

of you of everything you did, and she's

probably watching it. I didn't realize she

would be watching all of it, like

everything that I was doing. Doesn't she

have anything else to do? That's like 8

hours worth of CCTV footage. Is she just

watching me for 8 hours? I don't really

know how to feel about that. It's kind of

ironic because I do YouTube and I'm very

happy filming myself like this and telling

you guys what I've been up to or what I'm

doing, but When it's my boss watching me

at work on camera, I feel really kind

of violated. Like, are you allowed to do

that? Aren't there laws against this? I

feel kind of stressed out now because I

can't relax and do what I do,

do my shady things that I'm not really

supposed to be doing. But those little

things kind of help me deal with the

stress and the boredom. There's also other

weird things I did. Like, I did do a few

vlogs when I was at work when I first

started there, and I'm not sure if she saw

me. I guess it doesn't really look that

bad because if you look at it from the

CCTV camera, it just looks like I'm

holding a phone in front of my face.

Maybe she just thought, oh, maybe Daniel's

just taking a photo of himself or looking

at his camera. But then I was also

speaking, so she would have seen my mouth

moving. I'm not sure if the cameras

capture audio as well. I don't think they

do, but I feel kind of embarrassed now.

Did she see me making videos?

Oh, and there's been times when I've

dropped stuff. I've dropped food on the

floor and I just pick it up and I put it

back into the packaging. It happened a few

times when I was making, um, a sausage and

omelette muffin. The omelette, I dropped

it into the sink and It just flew out of

the spatula and it dropped into the sink,

and I was like, shit, and I quickly picked

it up out of the sink and put it back into

the muffin. I don't know if she saw that.

What am I supposed to do? I can't chuck it

into the bin. I can't just go and get

another omelette and cook a whole new

omelette just for one muffin. I don't have

time for that. Anyway, I think that was

everything. What else do I do that's kind

of weird? I skip a lot of corners. For

example, sweeping. I don't really sweep

the floor properly. I always cut corners

like that just to make things easier. I'm

not sure if she's noticed or not. I think

that the reason why the boss has been

watching what I've been doing is because

she wants to know if I know how to do

everything okay, because I think they want

me to start doing some night shifts on my

own next year. Next year because, um,

next year the Bangladesh guy is having a

new baby, so he's going to take a month

off work for paternity leave. I think

that's what it's called. So I'm going to

have to do some nights on my own, and she

wants to know if I'm ready for it. Also,

the Nepal guy, he's going to go back to

Nepal for like a month. He goes back to

Nepal for like 4 weeks every year. He

takes all his holiday all at once and he

just goes back home. So if

the Bangladesh also wants to take a day

off while the Nepal guy is gone, then I'm

gonna have to work on my own. And why is

my voice going funny? And the manager

wants to know, can Daniel work on his own

all night without any problems? And I

think I'd say yes, I'm ready for it. I

know what I'm supposed to be doing. I know

how to do all the jobs. The only thing

that really worries me is the Irish

people. If the Irish people come in and

I'm on my own, then I am, I am fucked

because I don't know how to handle them.

I don't have a strong firm hand. I'm like

this little quiet skinny guy. I don't know

how to control rowdy people, drunk people.

So if they come in, they start causing,

uh, trouble, I don't know what I'm

supposed to do. I can't approach them.

They might get violent. I can't call the

police because let's face it, by the time

the police get here, they're going to be

gone anyway. So I think what I'm going to

do is just keep the door locked. She said

that if you don't feel safe on your own,

you can just lock the door. So I think I'm

just going to keep the door locked the

whole night, and if people come up to pay

petrol— to buy petrol, I would probably

unlock the door when they come in to pay.

But when I'm When there's no one buying

petrol, I think I'm just going to keep the

door locked. And if a bunch of like really

loud people start approaching the door and

they try to come in, I think I'm just

gonna pretend that I didn't see them and

keep the door locked and just completely

ignore them. I'm not going to let you in

because I know you're going to start

causing chaos. Anyway, I think I'm going

to keep this video a bit shorter than I

usually do because I have some stuff to

do. I have some boxes to open. I got

new RAM for my computer. I'm not sure if I

told you this, but I did buy some RAM a

few days ago, DDR4 RAM, and it came

yesterday and I put it into my computer

hoping it would work. Turned on my

computer, it didn't work. The computer

started up, but my monitor was completely

black. So I did some Googling, then I

realized that some monitors can't support

DDR4 RAM because DDR4 RAM is a new RAM

that's only supported by newer

motherboards, and my motherboard, I bought

it last year, so it's not exactly new. So

I had to return the DDR4 RAM. I had to

reorder DDR3 RAM, which is hopefully in

that box. I got 16 gigabytes of RAM

because recently I feel like my 8

gigabytes of RAM isn't up to the job of

playing Battlefield 1. I like to play

Battlefield 1 And, uh, 8 gigabytes is fine

most of the time, but sometimes it

stutters and it slows down. And when I'm

alt-tabbing and switching through browsers

and games and watching YouTube, my

computer starts to lag down. It starts to

stutter and get slow, and I think that's

because I'm running out of RAM. I might be

wrong. I'm not exactly like a computer

genius, but I think But

I think that getting more RAM should help

that because, um,

because I don't know. I don't know how to

explain it. Having more RAM means that you

can have more programs open at the same

time, doesn't it? I've spent so much on my

computer. I spent £100 buying a 2TB hard

drive. I spent £100, £150 or something on

a new monitor. I spent £20 on a keyboard.

I spent £15 on a new mouse. I spent £100

on new RAM. It gets so expensive,

computer gaming. I can totally understand

why people prefer games consoles over PCs.

You can just get an Xbox One on Amazon for

£160, £180, and then

all you need is the games console, £180.

You buy the game, £40, and then yeah, you

need a TV, so that's like £200. So all in

all, you might have to spend £400 to £500

if you're gaming on a gaming console, but

I've spent probably £700 to £800 on my

gaming PC if you include the

monitors. And then there's also Windows 10

I had to buy, which cost £80, but I

think my PC is more powerful than an Xbox

One or PS4. Also, it can do other stuff

like Go on the internet. Well, I guess

games consoles can browse the internet as

well these days, can't they? But I can do

screen recording. I can make videos for

YouTube using screen recording apps, and I

can do other stuff like, um,

uh, I guess there's lots of stuff you can

do on the computer, but I don't do any of

them. I only play games and watch YouTube

and watch movies sometimes.

Which are all things you can do on the

games console. So I don't really— I'm

starting to think that why do I spend so

much money on a computer when I could just

get a games console that would be able to

do everything that I wanted— that I want

to do and cost less than half the price?

I don't know, but there's something about

computers that I like. I like the way you

can upgrade it and buy new parts and

Customize it. Yeah, it's fun.

You can't really do those kind of things

with a games console, can you?
