to make a good video, I need to put a lot

Because he started drama with me, I had

the idea of that video, but it's just a

assets to pay that. I don't have £3,600

in cash just sitting in my bank account.

So I've got until January 2024 to

it's a long way away, but I got to pay for

to be broke.

Hopefully they could— I think I can do

monthly payments cuz I did it last time.

I was doing £200 a month for

my last tax bill. My tax bill now is going

Rogue, I think. I got my Barbarian to

level 59, and I did a, a tier

20 dungeon, Nightmare dungeon, yesterday,

and I got stuck on the last boss. And I

wasted all my lives and I died and I got

kicked out of the dungeon. And it was so

frustrating. I went back with a tier 17

dungeon and I nearly wiped my 12 lives on

that, but I just managed to get to the

boss with 0 lives left and I aced the boss

first try. It was so rewarding. The

feeling was so satisfying. Felt so good.

But now I want to play my rogue because I

think it'll be more fun. It's such a good

game. Okay, it's kind of repetitive and

it's just a grind fest, but it just feels

good. I don't know what it is, like the

sound design and the whole game loop of

grinding money and getting gear, getting

stronger. It feels so good. I love it.

Thought you hated Diablo. No, I think it's

great. Probably the best game I played all

year. Better than Zelda? I thought Zelda

was pretty good, but now compared to

Diablo, Zelda doesn't have any of the

great gameplay mechanics that Diablo has,

like loads of abilities that you can pick

and choose and customize and upgrade based

on your own playstyle and build. You can't

do that in Zelda. Well, in Zelda, all you

do is you like hack and slash, jump

around, do a parry, build some weird

contraption that breaks after 5 seconds.

Imagine Zelda but with Diablo

combat mechanics. Oh, that would be

amazing. Imagine you could make Link

either this barbarian or like a rogue. Or

a sorcerer instead of just whatever he

does. I don't know how I can go back to

playing Zelda now.

It's such a great game. It's like World of

Warcraft, but way more— way

faster paced.

And, um, I don't know, it is like World of

Warcraft, but imagine playing it 10 times

speed. It just feels way faster paced.

World of Warcraft was very time-consuming,

like you had to do quests and run here and

run there, and everything just felt like

it took ages to do.

I got this one and a black one, but

they're too small. I don't know why,

Thailand, it felt tight. And the collar is

like tight around my neck. The collar is

like this. Way too hot for Thailand. And I

got a black one, so that's a waste of

money. And I bought new jeans, but I left

them in Japan, so I got this Thailand

shirt in Phuket. But it's way too

big. I got L size because

my other shirt is an L and it fits me

perfectly, so I thought, okay, I'm L size.

So I got this, which I really like the

design. Too big.

So my girlfriend goes on the internet,

finds me the same shirt, and buys me M

size. But M size is too small.

So M is too small, L is too big,

It's so frustrating trying to buy t-shirts

here. So I think I'll just go back to

Uniqlo and buy another one of these.

a size in between M and L. When I wear the

M size, it's like this, really tight.

Okay, so yesterday, um,

we went to the school to pick up the visa

documents they prepared. I don't know what

they prepared. It's like a load of papers,

and we need to go to immigration maybe

next week to hand in the documents.

And I think we have to wait maybe 2 weeks

for them to review my application, then

give me my student visa. And then I'll

start going to school. So I don't actually

have to start going to school until the

end of June after I get my visa,

which is great because I thought I'd have

to go— I thought I had to start school

next week, but I don't have to start until

end of June.

And yeah, they gave me some textbooks,

but the annoying thing is I've been

learning how to read Thai, the Thai

alphabet, But they're not teaching the

Thai alphabet. The entire textbook is in

English, so they, they write out the Thai

words phonetically in English, but it

looks really hard to, to understand

because I don't know how you're supposed

to pronounce it. So for example,

in English they've written some word as

P-O-O-T And I thought, okay, it's

pronounced poot. But then my girlfriend

said, no, it's pronounced boot. So like Ps

and Bs are not pronounced how you would

expect it to be. And they've got all these

dashes, like a line through the O or dash

above the O. So it's like, I'm gonna have

to learn how they write their words in

English. It looks like Vietnamese with all

the dashes and stuff. It's kind of

annoying because I've been learning how to

read Thai and I think it's, I think it's

better to learn the alphabet and then

learn Thai after you can read. But I can

understand if they've got a classroom of

people trying to teach them how to read

and write would take ages.

I've been, I dedicated a few hours and I'm

pretty good at learning alphabets, so I'm

quick, but most people suck. Can you

imagine like a white guy from Scotland

trying to, trying to write his name in

Thai? There's just no way. It would take

ages. So I guess for the sake of

efficiency and time, it's better to just

teach Thai in Romanized

English alphabet. But I think it's a bad

way of learning a language. You really

need to learn the alphabet of the

language. I think it's a much better idea,

but then you really need to dedicate a lot

of time into studying how to read.

And a lot of people are just not good with

recognizing the different symbols. I think

I have a high IQ, which is why I'm good at

it, good at recognizing the subtle

differences between the different symbols

and being able to create a memory palace

to remember what the symbols mean. That's

think you should learn the alphabet. We

were in the car park yesterday and I

noticed a sign with an arrow pointing down

with 2 letters. And I know, I remember the

first letter is L from my name, Daniel.

It's the same letter that I see a lot,

but the second letter, I haven't seen it

before and I don't know how to read it.

It's like a little circle with a hook. So

I'm guessing this means down, but I don't

know how it's read. It starts with an L.

And then we get into the elevator and then

this Thai couple are getting in too. And

they asked my girlfriend something that

begins with long. They're like, long,

blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. And then it

just clicked. Long means down.

So that little second symbol is like an ng

sound. So that kind of clicked for me.

And I see the same ng sound in the

spelling of Bangkok. So yeah, that

clicked. So I learned a new word just by

seeing the letters. I thought that was

pretty cool. Oh wow, Jim donating

So I think it is a good idea to learn the

alphabet. Also, in Thai,

they don't call Bangkok Bangkok. They call

it Krung Thep or something like that.

It's strange. The actual official name for

Bangkok is some really, really long word

that begins with Krung Thep Makhana Kong

or something like that. And then Bangkok

is only one of the words in that really

long name. But Thai people call it Krung

Thep, which is why the official Bank of

Bangkok is called Krung or something like

Krung Thai. It means— shout out to Eris

from CEO of Autism. It means land of the

angels. I think Krung is like angel or

So we go to the school, they give me

back my visa stuff. And, um, what else

happened? Oh yeah, I wanted to buy the ROG

Ally, so we go to the nearby shopping

center, but they didn't have it because

it's like a crappy shopping center. We

need to go to Paragon or Central World

where they have the, the Gamer Republic

gaming shops. I don't know if the ROG Ally

is out yet in Thailand, but I wanted to

check just in case. It's kind

of annoying living in Thailand because you

don't have access to the latest tech as

soon as it comes out. And the ROG Ally is

kind of like a niche product. If I was in

England, I would have preordered it and

had it by now. So we go to a restaurant

instead and have food and she has her

second job starting at 6 p.m. and it's

like 5 p.m. and then we finish eating at

5:30. We've got 30 minutes to get back and

we get stuck in a massive traffic jam,

obviously, since it's rush hour. And then

she's like freaking out because she has to

get to work. And it was probably the

scariest car trip I've ever had.

We, we were overtaking lanes of traffic in

the oncoming traffic lane. It was

absolutely crazy. So there's a massive

traffic jam, single lanes. So we're like

bottlenecked, bottlenecked. And there was

like solid queue of traffic in our lane.

But the other lane was kind of empty with

some cars coming towards us. And she was

trying to get into the oncoming lane. So

our car was half sticking out into the

other lane. And then we were blocking all

the motorbikes behind us and they were all

beeping at us. Some of them were trying to

risk it and overtake us by going straight

into the oncoming lane. And they were like

shaking their heads at us and beeping at

us. And then other cars were beeping at

us. And then she actually drove into the

oncoming traffic lane to skip the queue

of, of traffic that was queuing up. And

then we had to get back into the left lane

and she was like opening the window and

begging the car to let us back into the

lane. And the car wasn't letting us in.

He was still trying to push in to block us

from getting us back in, letting us back

in. But we kept pushing in and then he had

to let us enter the queue. It was so

Crazy. I've never seen driving like that

ever.

And then we would leave, we were changing

lanes, and then cars were beeping at us

because we were just trying to get into

their lane whilst they were going pretty

quickly. And then we would leave our lane

to get into the other lane, and as soon as

we get into the other lane, our lane that

we just left starts moving. So it's like

completely pointless to keep changing

lanes like that. I'm pretty sure there's

a science to lane changing where

it's proven that it doesn't actually get

you to your destination faster. And you're

just making unnecessary dangerous risks to

try and save like a couple seconds.

You leave your lane that you think is not

moving, but then as soon as you leave it,

it starts moving again. And then you're

stuck in the lane that you just moved

into. It's kind of like the stock market.

You buy stuff when you think it's moving,

and then once you've bought into it, it

stops moving up and then you sell it

because it's going down. And that's why

people keep losing money. Same psychology.

So I don't know if this high-risk,

constant lane changing actually got us to

our, our home faster than if we just

stayed in the same lane. I don't know.

But it was pretty crazy.

crash. I thought for sure we were going to

crash because we were like accelerating

hard into the queues of traffic, braking

hard, changing lanes. It was insane.

And then she was late for work by 20

per hour in the car park

crossing the road and we were just

per hour. And she ran. She, she saw us

speeding towards her and she just like,

she was walking casually and then she just

started running because she thought we

were going to hit her or something. It's

like GTA. It was like being in GTA. We

were like bouncing off the speed bumps at

20 kilometers per hour. You know, you're

supposed to slow down to about 5

kilometers per hour to go over speed

bumps. We're hitting them at 25. That

car's poor suspension skidding around

the car park ramps, it was insane. I swear

I'm gonna die in a car crash at some

point. Oh my

God, I have never seen driving like that

in my whole life.

Maybe you're insane because I complain

about doing the same thing expecting a new

outcome. Well, I don't really want a new

outcome. The same outcome I'm getting now

would be fine, which is

why I still do what I do.

I just, I really hope we don't crash and

then I have to do something like, I don't

know, stop the angry man from punching my

girlfriend in the face. I feel like Thai

people get really angry. I would just be

sitting in the car hiding.

I don't know what to do when you get in a

car crash. What do you do? I think in

Thailand they just do like a cash

settlement to not get the— they don't want

to get the insurance companies involved

because if you do it properly with the

insurance company, um, you lose points or

something like that. It makes your

insurance credit go down. So most people

in Thailand, when they crash, they'll just

negotiate and say, okay, I'll give you

$100 to fix it. Sorry, sorry I crashed

into you. I don't know if it's like that

in the UK. I think in the UK they—

everyone does it properly. They exchange

insurance details.

One time my girlfriend crashed and she

said the other man who she crashed into

was so angry. He said, If you were a man,

I would have punched you. That's scary.

You know, that's why I'm scared of

driving, because I think I'm going to

crash and then I'm going to crash into

like an angry man and he's actually going

to punch me. That's— I

mean, a lot of, a lot of angry, scary men

are on the roads. And if you are

unfortunate enough to crash into them,

they're going to be pissed. They're gonna

be, oh, you fucking idiot, you just broke

my car. I just got it fixed last weekend.

At Victory Monument, you've got an 8-lane

roundabout where overtaking on the

roundabout is insane. I thought 2-lane

roundabouts were stressful in the UK. You

try going to Victory Monument in Bangkok.

The roundabout is massive,

but no one follows the rules of the

roundabout in Thailand. They just get on,

get off, overtake, cut people off on

the roundabout. The police don't care

either. You can speed and be on your phone

and do really bad driving in front of the

police and they won't do anything. In the

UK, they would have pulled you over and

probably you'd lose your license by now.

I never— it never ceases to surprise, to

amaze me, the driving here. It's just like

the biggest culture shock is the driving.

But when I get a taxi, it's not so bad.

It's just when my girlfriend's driving,

it feels Like crazy go-kart

simulator or something.

So how am I going to go to school? Maybe

I'll get a taxi, but I think it's, it's

about, I think it's maybe $3. To get

a taxi there and back. If I'm going 5 days

a week, how much is that gonna

be? It's gonna add up. It's gonna be

like $60 or $70 a month.

Maybe I can afford it. If I get the train,

it's gonna cost— I mean, it's gonna cost

way less, but it's gonna take an hour to

get there and back. Maybe I get a bicycle.

I reckon I could get there way faster by

bicycle. It takes half an hour by car,

but then you get all jammed up, probably

in the morning, this rush hour.

I only like riding on the back of a

motorbike when it's a girl and I could put

I love it when channels die. I'm like,

is like 2 to 4 years. 4 years?

The lifespan of a YouTube channel is

basically less than a goldfish

for most people.

It is. I found— I followed a lot of

channels back in. I mean, I still check up

on them now and then just to see, and they

all died. The channels I was following

back in 2017 and '18 just to check if they

would ever become massive, like JoyNen,

Sora the Troll, BenDeen,

TerryTV— who else is there? Every single

one of them blew up, but then they're now

dead. It's so funny.

The only one is Zach Choi that didn't die.

Every single other channel that I was

keeping tags on,

checking the process, they all died. Look

at Ben Dean, a million subs and he only

gets like 20k views. I mean,

60k views. TerryTV's channel died too.

He's got like 2 million subs. He used to

have a big fan base. Of like 500K viewers

and then he only gets 30K views now.

That's insane. Just a few years and your

entire fan base abandoned you. So it's not

just me. It literally happens to every

creator. They have a blowup. Things are

amazing for maybe 2 or 3 years. Then on

the 4th or 5th year, it's really,

really things have dried up.

Unless you're the top 1% who is some kind

of influencer marketing genius,

everyone's channels just die. The only

reason the Trash Taste people and Chris

Broad are doing so well to this day is

because they did Trash Taste and they

merged all their audience together and

they created this strong brand

of Trash Taste. And they're like

networking like crazy. Connor's networking

with Ludwig, Joey's networking with

PewDiePie. They're just networking

geniuses, and they've got a whole company,

Geeks+, helping them market. They've got a

whole team, like a managing team, a PR

team, reaching out to all these massive

names. Obviously, most people are not like

that. People like me just doing YouTube

from our bedrooms, we don't have a

freaking marketing team. And we're not

collabing with Ken Watanabe and PewDiePie

and stuff. So that's like the top 1%.

And if they failed after doing all of

that, I would just be gobsmacked because

they're putting in so much money and

effort into, into not fading into

irrelevancy. But yeah,

sad story is us normal

casual YouTubers, we're just going to blow

up. And we'll have, you know, have our

time in the spotlight for a few years,

and then it's just going to fizzle out.

That's the sad reality of most YouTubers.

But it's kind of fun to, um, laugh at

other people's channels dying because

misery loves company. It takes a

lot of work. You can't just blow up and

think, okay, I'm set for life. You have to

blow up, Then also carry on making amazing

content and network and collab and keep

doing new stuff. Otherwise, you can't just

blow up and sit here playing games and

doing streams on your own. You're going to

die. Your channel's going to die.

I was too lazy. I didn't put in the work.

I don't want to collab with people because

I don't like meeting or talking to people.

So my channel with my attitude

is doomed to fail. Was doomed to fail.

It's just too hard. I'm doing YouTube

because I'm lazy. I don't want to put in

the hard work and network.

If you don't network, you're really going

to struggle unless you've got some genius

creative skills.

So I'm willing to bet next year

at Sushi Vlogs, we'll be getting an

average of 20K views and it won't grow

again. I really doubt his channel is going

to grow much more.

He'll do like some growth, but very

slowly. Because if he— if there was the

potential to grow even more, it would have

happened already. He's been doing it for 2

years. If you're doing a kind of content

for 2 years and it hasn't blown you up to

the stratosphere by now, then I don't

think it ever will. You gotta try— he has

to try something else, I reckon.

You make 200 videos about a type of topic.

I reckon a few of them will get over a

million views and go viral. The rest will

get decent views and then some will get

crap views.

But I just, I don't see the longevity

in some guy just sitting in his apartment

saying, hey guys, bought a new frying pan.

YouTube is a marathon. It's not a sprint.

Just because you blow up and then you've

got great numbers for a couple years.

Okay, what about 5 years later? What are

you gonna do? What are you gonna do for

content 5 years later?

Once 80 or 90% of your subs are not

watching anymore. It's a marathon,

not a sprint. That's what I learned.

YouTubers coming through and taking a

piece of the pie. Yeah, I bet they're

very— I mean, I bet behind

the scenes they're like

this predatory business entity thinking,

okay, how can we maximize our profits?

They just lure in big YouTubers with the,

the promise of getting them an

entertainer's visa so they can live in

Japan and live out their weeb dream. And

then in return, I don't know, they

probably get a percentage of whatever that

YouTuber makes. It's basically a multi,

multi-networking channel. An MCM back in

the day, like the Smosh days, you had to

have a networking, what are they called?

Multi-network. M— is it MCM?

I can't remember the term. Like a

networking company that will do all the

marketing for you. Because back then you

didn't, you didn't have, um, ads and

YouTube partnership, whatever.

You had to get a networking company to

get you the views and the exposure, and in

return they'll get you the money and you

give them like 10 or 20%. But then I think

it was like early or late 2000s,

YouTube introduced monetization and then

you could just make money through ads.

But still big channels like TotalBiscuit,

Jesse Cox, they would have a

multi-networking channel.
