Tokyo sky tree visit in Japan - panasonic lx100 video

Hey guys, a few days ago I went to Tokyo

Skytree, which is basically just a really,

really big tower that's in Tokyo. And this

video is just going to be like a review

where I'll talk about things I liked about

it and things I didn't like about it. So

to start the video off, I'll tell you

exactly what Tokyo Skytree is. Tokyo

Skytree is the tallest structure in Japan

and the 2nd tallest structure in the whole

world. It's actually a broadcasting tower

for TV and radio, but it also has 2

observation decks shopping centres, and it

also has an aquarium. It was built to

replace Tokyo Tower, which used to be

Tokyo's main TV and radio broadcasting

tower. But Tokyo Tower is pretty old now

and it's surrounded by taller modern

buildings, so they had to build Tokyo

Skytree to get a wider TV and radio

coverage over Tokyo. There's a train you

can ride right up to the tower, up to

Skytree, and the first thing I noticed

when I got out of the train and looked up,

I saw the Tokyo Skytree and it was just

huge. It's, it's so huge, it's It doesn't

actually look like it's real. And if you

go at night, it lights up and there's all

these nice fancy lighting effects which

look pretty cool. And then you have to

queue up to buy your ticket. Most of the

staff speak English, so it's fine. And

then you have to get on the elevator. The

elevator is pretty big. It says it holds

40 people. The elevator is really fast. I

didn't time it, but it felt like it was

about 30 seconds to a minute to reach the

top. The elevator goes up so quickly, my

ears kept popping and I had to swallow the

whole time. And then the door opens and

then you get out of the elevator. And

you're on the first observation deck. The

first observation deck is pretty noisy

because they have, they have like TV

screens playing over the windows and they

play like some kind of show and it's

really noisy.

I really didn't like this because it was

just so noisy. You couldn't hear yourself

think, you couldn't talk to people. It

just kind of ruins the atmosphere. But if

you go down to the lower levels, then it's

quieter and it have like nice music

playing. Also, it's really dark on the

observation deck, so if you want to take

your own photos or take selfies, it's

pretty difficult because the lighting's so

bad. And I think they do this on purpose

because they actually have cameras and

nice lighting setups because they want to

sell you your photo. It costs ¥1,300 just

for one photo. It's so expensive. That's

like £10, £8 to £10 just to have your

photo taken. There's also a cafe and a

restaurant, but it's really expensive and

overpriced. I mean, ¥950 For curry. For

¥950, I could make a week's worth of

curry. And ¥430 for a cup of coffee.

For ¥430, I could buy a whole jar of

coffee at the supermarket. But these

touristy places usually have really

overpriced food, so you kind of have to

expect it. Or you could just make a

sandwich and take it with you, save some

money. There was also this cool

interactive map where when you touch it,

you can zoom in and zoom out on various

parts of the city. And then this is the

best bit. There's a part on the

observation deck where the floor is made

out of glass, so you can stand on it and

it's like you're standing on nothing. I

guess it's a bit scary if you're afraid of

heights, but I didn't really find it

scary. Okay, so this might make me sound

like a bit of a pervert, but I'm not.

It's just an observation, okay? The glass

is really reflective, so when you stand on

it you can see your reflection pretty

well. And there were a lot of girls

wearing skirts and dresses, and when they

stood on the glass, you could see right up

their skirt and you could see their pants.

Now, it's not like I was standing there

looking up girls' dresses. I'm just saying

it's an observation I made, so you might

want to be careful about that if you're

wearing a skirt. But yeah, plus 2 points

for the reflective glass. Excellent,

excellent stuff. It's especially fun when

you walk onto the glass and then pretend

that you've tripped over or Try jumping on

the glass. That kind of freaks everyone

out around you. Here's a picture I took

out from the window of the city. It looks

pretty cool, but it's kind of hard to take

photos because there's like a reflection

on the glass, and you can't walk right up

to the glass because it's like behind a

barricade, behind a bar. So no matter how

hard you try to take a photo of the city

during nighttime, you're always going to

get like a reflection on the glass, which

is a bit disappointing. I had a pretty

good time at Tokyo Skytree, and it was

worth the visit. So if you're in Tokyo and

you're looking for places to go to, then

you should check out Skytree. It's pretty

good. The entry ticket's a bit expensive,

and the food's pretty expensive, but I

think it's worth it.
