DO NOT BUY the iPhone 15 - VERY disappointing...

The iPhone 15 is coming out soon. I think

it's coming out September 13th or 14th.

And as someone who's using an iPhone 12

Mini, which I bought end of 2020, I've

been using this thing for almost 3 years

now. I have been seriously thinking, do I

want to upgrade to the new iPhone 15? But

looking at the specs, at the spec sheets

of the rumors of new features that the

iPhone 15 lineup is going to have I can't

really say I'm very excited about these

new upgrades, and I don't really see why

I'd want to spend over $1,000 for these

updates or upgrades. So one of the new

features that is coming to iPhone 15 is

USB-C comes to iPhone. Are you serious?

It's just a charging port, who cares? I

mean, it is nice that everything's going

to have the same charging port like my

Android phones, my tablets, my GoPro all

use USB-C, and it is kind of annoying

having to use the Lightning cable, have to

bring a Lightning cable with me as well as

my USB-C chargers. So it is nice,

but I don't really care that much. I'm not

really super excited. I think it's a

really bad sign if one of the new phone's

main exciting features is supposed to be

its charging port. Then it's probably like

a sign that there's not really much

exciting new things coming to this iPhone

15 if that's all they have to get excited

about. And celebrate. And then the next

thing that is one of the new features is

all iPhone 15s to have the Dynamic Island.

Obviously they would have to have the

Dynamic Island. Why wouldn't they bring

the Dynamic Island to all of the iPhone

15s that were from the iPhone 14 if it's

like a new piece of software, a new

gimmick thing? The Dynamic Island is also

really boring. It's just basically a

little area at the top of the screen that

you can tap and do things with, like pause

your music, reply to someone without

actually opening the messaging app. It's

such a boring— I mean, it looks kind of

cool because of the animation, the way it

stretches out and then shrinks back in.

It's kind of neat, but I don't really see

myself using it that much because I don't

really listen to music and no one messages

me anyway. So I don't really see myself

ever using the Dynamic Island unless— I

don't know, what could I do on the Dynamic

Island? And then there's other really

boring upgrades like smaller bezels,

gonna be like 0.3 2 inches, or I don't

know, 0.1, 0.5 millimeter smaller bezels,

which you probably won't even notice. I

think the bezels on my iPhone 12 Mini are

already pretty small. I don't really feel

like, oh, these bezels are too big, it's

making it too hard to use my phone. I

don't think I'd even notice if the bezels

were like a centimeter smaller or not. It

says the iPhone 15 Pro will measure 5.77

by 2.77 instead of 5.81 by 2.81

of the— from the iPhone 14 Pro. So it's

like, oh, 5.77 versus 5.81,

that's 0.04 in difference.

You're not even going to notice that. And

then there's the improved camera. It's

going to be a 48-megapixel camera on all

of the iPhone 15s with stacked design

CMOS image sensors. Don't even know what

that means, but I don't really want or

care about 48 megapixels. Because I'm

not— I don't have the best skin in the

world, and I'm pretty happy with just

having— I don't know how many megapixels

this camera is, probably like 10

megapixels or less. So I can't imagine how

bad I'm gonna look in 48 megapixels.

So I'd have to use some kind of filter or

some kind of app to reduce, or maybe just

lower down the megapixels. Maybe having 48

megapixels would be good if you're like a

pro a pro photographer, or maybe a

YouTuber who actually takes video footage

of the stuff he films instead of just

sitting in his room with a webcam kind of

setup. But I don't really care that much

about the image quality of cameras. I feel

like image quality of cameras were

fine from a couple years ago, and anything

above that is just kind of too much, and

they're just making the cameras— the

camera bump It's just getting ridiculously

big now. Have you seen how big and thick

the camera bump is on the iPhone 14s?

Well, they're going to be even thicker

with the iPhone 15 now that there's 48

bloody megapixels and stacked sensors or

whatever, and the camera bump is going to

end up getting thicker than the actual

phone. Oh yeah, this is a good one. So it

seems like there's pretty much definitely

a solid chance they're going to add this

Action Button that everyone's raving about

because the new Apple Watches have this

Action Button And I guess it sounds pretty

cool because you're supposed to be able to

assign any kind of app to the Action

Button. So you could like, I don't know,

assign the camera so when you press the

button it'll just open the camera. That

would be kind of nice because as a

YouTuber sometimes I'm out and about and I

quickly want to take some video, and what

I have to do is I have to open my iPhone,

I have to hold down that camera button

which takes a couple seconds, and then

it's open, then I've got to flip the

camera around It just feels a bit fiddly.

It would be nice if I could just press a

button and it opens the camera straight

away, like those, those Sony phones,

Xperia phones, have a camera button on it.

And I tried it out in the shop and it was

pretty nice, just picking up the phone,

pressing the button, and you're ready to

film. It is kind of annoying because look,

on my iPhone 12, I've got to tap the

screen to wake it up, then hold down this

camera button for a second, and then wait

for the camera to open, then I can start

shooting. Does feel a bit fiddly doing

that, so it would be nice to have the

Action Button. But at the end of the day,

it's just a button that makes opening or

using an app maybe a few seconds faster.

Maybe if you use stock apps a lot, you can

assign the stock app to it, or maybe if

you use Gmail a lot, you can assign Gmail

to it and just press the button and then

it opens up the app straight away. That'd

be okay, I guess, but you're really going

to spend over $1,000 just so you can save

yourself 1 second opening an app a bit

faster. And then there's the new design of

the iPhone 15s. I heard that they're going

to be made out of titanium instead of

stainless steel. And the problem with the

steel is if you look at the sides of my

iPhone, look, they're all chipped. And for

some reason where I place my fingers,

there's like a groove that's kind of— it

looks like my sweat or my finger oils have

eaten away at the steel coating. Look at

that. That's where I place my, my finger

goes right here when I hold my phone,

holding like this. And it's like where my

finger was, it's eating away at the phone

material. Can you see that? So my phone

looks really ugly now. It's like I've been

using it to scrub rocks or something

with the iPhone So I don't know if

titanium is going to do that as well, but

I think that the material on the iPhone

12s were kind of soft and easy

to melt away or chip away at with finger

oils and acidic sweat. So maybe titanium

would be nicer and it would be a nicer

finish on the phone. And they're also

saying they're going to make the edges of

the phone rounder. So you can see the

iPhone 12 lineup, the edges were very flat

and very straight. And that's actually the

reason why I bought the iPhone 12. I

didn't like the design of the iPhone X or

11 with that weird rounded side. I didn't

like the rounded sides. I like this kind

of flat square kind of look that the old

iPhones used to have, like the iPhone 5s.

They used to have this kind of very square

boxy design that I like. I don't like this

weird rounded curved pebble, pebble kind

of design, which seems— sounds like

they're going to bring that back for the

iPhone 15s, which I'm not sure if that's

going to be a great design choice. I

prefer the more flat and square-looking

boxy shape. So yeah, I don't really know

if I'm gonna buy the iPhone 15. I feel

kind of tempted because my iPhone 12 does

feel a bit slow and sluggish sometimes,

and the battery life is pretty crap now.

My maximum battery capacity is only about

82% it's kind of old now. And I guess

having a slightly improved camera system

would be nicer. My camera on the iPhone 12

is not great, it doesn't look amazing.

And when I'm trying to take pictures of my

fish tank, it doesn't do a very good job,

and I end up just using my Flip 4Z because

that's much better and has better

low-light capabilities. So maybe I would

be tempted for the new and up-to-date

camera system. But apart from the camera

system, What else do you get? You get

Lightning-C charging, you get a little

button that you could assign apps to.

Um, what else you get? Maybe slightly

faster processing speeds, slightly better

resolution screen, sharper looking screen.

I don't know, it just doesn't really seem

like much. Oh yeah, the Dynamic Island as

well, if you really care about that. So

Dynamic Island, little button, USB-C

charging. Periscope camera for better

zooming. It's just kind of boring, don't

you think? It's like, oh, a new button,

oh, charging port for cables. I don't

know if I'm actually gonna buy one. I

might buy one just to see if it's rubbish
