I WAS SO WRONG about Pokémon Legends - Arceus! (It's really good)

A few days ago, I made a pretty harsh and

negative video review and critique of the

Pokémon Legends: Arceus game, and I got a

lot of hate on the video. I think I have

about 1,600 dislikes, which is a

lot of dislikes. I never usually get that

many dislikes on my videos, and I was very

surprised and shocked to hear that so many

people disagreed with my points. I got

quite a lot of very scary and harsh

comments, people insulting me and swearing

at me, telling me to delete my channel and

other things. I've never really been on

the receiving end of so much hate on the

internet before, and it was a little bit

intimidating. I felt pretty angry and

annoyed that I got this kind of reaction

because at the time I thought my points

and my critiques made sense, and I thought

they were pretty fair. But Jesus Christ,

I think I was completely wrong about

almost everything I said in my video

review of Pokémon Legends: Arceus. So I

shut down my laptop and I walked away from

the internet for a bit to get away from

all this, and I went back onto my Switch

to play Pokémon Legends: Arceus, and I

just could not stop playing the game. I

think I played it for about 16 hours

straight. Now maybe I was a little bit

harsh and hasty with my initial

impressions of the game. It's just that I

had very high expectations and hopes for

this game, and as a fan of the original

games and and some of the more traditional

style Pokémon games, the new Pokémon

Legends: Arceus game was just very

different to what I was used to and what I

was expecting. In hindsight, I think I

should have spent a bit more time playing

the game before finalising my thoughts and

opinions on the game. I may have been a

little bit too hasty on formulating some

of my opinions on the game. So after

playing the game for a few days now, I've

just been completely addicted to it in a

good way. And I feel like some of the

points I made in my first video, I need to

take them back and retract them because I

don't really stand by those opinions

anymore. One of my main complaints in my

first video was about the graphics and the

art style and the graphical fidelity of

the game. And now I kind of realize that

Pokémon games are never really about the

graphics. No one really cares that much

about if the graphics are really good or

realistic or not. That's not really the

main point of Pokémon games. Pokémon games

are kind of like my ex-girlfriend. She

wasn't exactly the best-looking, most

attractive girl on the block, but she was

cute and adorable and charming in her own

unique way, and always made me feel warm

and fuzzy inside. There's some very nice

visual things in the game, such as little

effects. For example, when you throw your

Poké Ball at the Pokémon and you capture

it, the little fireworks come out and

there's these little sound effects. All of

these little things like that make it

extremely satisfying to play. And after a

while, the art style does kind of grow on

you. Even though it's not the kind of

traditional look that we're used to in

Pokémon games, it does have a very

charming and likable cuteness of its own.

And I did feel this very warm and fuzzy

feeling just walking around the villages

and the towns and watching the sunset come

down and casting its magical rays of light

all over the landscape was just magical.

When I'm playing the game, I just feel

really relaxed and at home in the game

world. It's just so nice to come home from

a hard day of work and immerse myself in

this Pokémon world It just melts away all

of the stress. Now the second complaint I

made about the game in my first video,

which I think was a bit unfair, was about

the gameplay. I originally said that the

gameplay was very shallow, not much depth

to it, not much challenge, and that it was

very repetitive and tedious. And maybe

that's the case in the beginning of the

game, but after you've played about 20

hours plus of the game and you get further

into the game, the combat system is pretty

tactical. And quite challenging, and there

are quite a lot of different strategies

and tactics that can be used and employed

to take down some of the tougher Pokémon.

I really like how you can get all these

different abilities and moves for each

Pokémon, and they all start off with their

default attack moves, and then you can

learn new moves and kind of mix and match

and choose specific kind of attacks you

want for different Pokémon and kind of

cater your own playstyle or fighting style

for whatever Pokémon you want to. So you

can kind of like handcraft your own roster

of Pokémon that have specific attacks and

moves which cater towards a specific kind

of situation or enemy that excels in

fighting that kind of enemy. And I really

like how there's this tactical element in

this Pokémon game. It's not really as

basic or as dumb and simple as it may

look. It does get quite challenging. And

as a big fan of Darkest Dungeon, which is

kind of like— you could say it's kind of

like a Pokémon game for adults in a more

mature and grim setting, because in

Darkest Dungeon you have this whole list

of different people who have different

abilities and you create a team and you

can pick and choose what kind of abilities

they have when they're brought out into

battles. And in some kind of way you can

compare Pokémon Legends: Arceus to Darkest

Dungeon. Now the addictive gameplay really

comes into effect when my OCD starts to

kick in. Trying to collect as many Pokémon

as you possibly can and trying to level

them up and get XP and evolve them,

trying to unlock different moves and

testing out the different move setups and

layouts with different Pokémon is just

really fun and really addictive and I

cannot get enough of the game. And I

haven't felt this addicted to a video game

in such a long time, and you might be

thinking it's a bad thing to get addicted

to a video game, but I don't really feel

like it is because ever since my

ex-girlfriend dumped me, my life has just

felt so hollow and empty and shallow, and

I just kind of sit around all day not

knowing what to do. There's not really

anything that I really feel like I really

want to do, but now with this new Pokémon

game, I feel like I really want to wake up

early in the morning just to play it. I

haven't felt this kind of sense of urgency

to want to wake up very early in the

morning since I got this bladder infection

from my ex-girlfriend and I found it very

difficult to hold in urine for long

periods of time. There's just so many

Pokémon to collect, there's so many quests

and things to do in the game, and the game

world is so inviting and welcoming that I

just want to stay inside of it forever and

never have to leave. It just feels like

there's not enough time in the day and

there's so many things I need to get done.

Even though I was kind of harsh with my

initial impressions and my initial review,

I do appreciate that Nintendo are trying

something new and trying to take the

Pokémon franchise and games into a new

direction. And for that, I really applaud

them and I say bravo. I do intend to

finish the game and complete it and try to

get 100% completion on the game. And after

I finish the game, I will like to come

back and make a final video on my thoughts

of the game after completely finishing it.

I think in my initial video I gave it a

4.2 out of 10 score, and after playing the

game for several days now, I feel like

that score doesn't really represent what I

actually think of the game, and I would

like to raise my score up to maybe a 6,

6.6 out of 10. I think that's more of a

fair representation, that it's more

accurate. So that's all I had to say. Let
