The END of GoPro - Never buying one again

Hello, welcome back to a new video. So

recently I kind of made a fairly scathing

review of the Insta360 X3,

and I feel like I have to make a new video

rectifying what I said because maybe I was

a little bit overly harsh. But as a user

of both of the GoPro Hero 7 and the

Insta360 X3, I think it has come to my

conclusion that they're there is

absolutely no reason for anyone to buy

GoPros anymore if you can buy one of

these. I mean, basically the Insta360

X3 does pretty much everything that the

GoPro is famous for. So the GoPro is

famous for being a great action camera for

good reasons. It was a very good camera

and it still is. It just doesn't really

have everything that this Insta360 has.

So what made the action camera What made

the GoPro such a great action camera was

how it's small, it's waterproof, it's got

great stabilization. You can use it in a

lot of different situations using

different kind of mounts. And also the

same can be said with the Insta360. It's

not as small, but it's pretty much nearly

as small as the GoPro. And it's got a good

size, it can be used in a range of

different situations, especially sporting

situations. It's waterproof, it's got

amazing stabilization. You can hold this

thing and basically spin it all around and

it will still be stable. And because of

the horizon level stability thing, it

would keep the level— it'll keep the video

level even when the camera is rotating

round and round like that. You would think

that the video would start spinning, but

it doesn't. It manages to keep the horizon

locked in and everything completely stable

as if the camera wasn't even moving

itself, even though you might be spinning

it round and round, which is Really quite

impressive. But the Insta360 X3

has one special magic trick that the GoPro

could never do, and that is the fact that

it has 360 camera. Now I know there is a

GoPro Max, which is GoPro's answer to 360

cameras, but why would you get that when

you can get this, which is supposedly

better? I don't know if the GoPro Max is

better or not. I read some reviews and I

read that people actually prefer the

Insta360 in most cases.

And, um, yeah, there's just no reason to

buy a GoPro 9, 10, or 11, or whatever

future GoPro 12 they're planning on

making. Because the problem with the GoPro

is it is just an action camera, there's no

360. And the beauty of 360 is you don't

have to worry about what you're pointing

the camera at. For example, you could be

skydiving. If you took your GoPro and you

went skydiving you're going to be so

confused what to shoot. Are you going to

film yourself? You want to film yourself

jumping out of the plane and your reaction

and put it on Instagram because you're in

the shots, don't you? But then you might

also want some scenic footage. So you

might think, oh, maybe I should flip the

camera around and now film what's in front

of me. Or maybe I want to film my legs,

or maybe I want to film the aeroplane, or

maybe I want to film my face again. You

have to constantly keep making these

decisions whilst you're jumping out of an

aeroplane or doing whatever activity

you're doing. You're going to have to

constantly think in the back of your mind,

hmm, do I want to film myself or do I want

to film my POV, what's in front of me?

But when you use the Insta360, you don't

have to worry about any of this because

when you're filming with the Insta360,

you're filming everything all at once.

There's nothing that you're not filming

because it's 360. And then you, after you

finish doing whatever you're doing, you

can then edit it in the app and then pick

and choose what you want to show to

people. You could show yourself and then

post that to YouTube or Instagram, or you

can then flip it around, reframe it, and

then film the ground and then post that

somewhere. It's just really flexible

with what you're able to shoot and choose

to be able to show to people after you

have shot it. Instead of worrying about

what are you going to choose to shoot

whilst you're doing the activity, you can

focus on doing the activity with the

Insta360 and worry about the framing

later, which is really what gives it a

massive edge over the GoPro. But you might

be thinking, well, what if I don't really

care about 360? What if I want to just do

single lens normal shooting with a GoPro?

Well, you can even do that with the

Insta360. You just press a button and you

can switch from 360 shooting to single

lens shooting, and then it will just use

one of the lenses, usually this one, and

then it basically acts the same as a

GoPro. There's no 360, you use the screen

as a viewfinder, and you just point at

what you want to film. And you can also

flip the lens so you can use the other

lens on the other side as a selfie camera.

And because you've got that big screen on

the other side, it really makes it easy to

show you what you're filming. With the

GoPro, if you want to do selfie mode with

the GoPro, well, I know you can do it with

the newer GoPros because they've got that

screen that shows your face. But if you've

got an older GoPro, like my one's a GoPro

7, you can't really see your face if

you're trying to do selfie filming. And

you just have to kind of point it at your

face and hope that it's capturing

what you want to capture. I mean, it's

going to capture what you're going to

capture because it's so wide. You just

point this lens at what you want to

capture and it will definitely capture it.

But sometimes it's nice to be able to see

what you're capturing whilst you're

capturing it. So yeah, it has made me

wonder, why would anyone buy a GoPro ever

again when you can just get one of these?

The only thing I can think of as to why

you would want to buy GoPro instead of

this is because it's smaller. It is much

smaller. Look at this, a lot smaller, a

lot easier to mount on a helmet. Imagine

mounting this on a helmet, it'll just be

sticking up, standing up on your helmet.

It'll look really stupid. I think to fix

the Insta360 X3, they need to redesign

this design. I think it's too long,

and I think they should cut it in half

like that so it's more of a square shape,

so it's more stable to be placed onto

surfaces. And I think instead of being

tall, I think it should be wide,

like, uh, like a pebble, so you can place

it down onto things and it won't fall

over. I don't like how it's tall and thin.

I think it should be fat and wide.

I'm glad I'm not tall.

Imagine being six foot tall. You are

like a rat. Wow, this is so weird.
