Chlamydia update - 3 years of pain

Hey, so, um, the other day I woke up with

this terrible aching pain in my hip joint,

and it's actually been quite a while since

I've experienced this pain. The last time

was sometime last year during autumn,

and if you've seen my video talking about

chlamydia, you'll know why I have these

joint pains. If you haven't seen that

video, I'll just do a quick overview. So 3

years ago, back in 2014, I decided to go

to Japan to meet this Japanese girl that I

met 2 years earlier from this other

guesthouse, and And I ended up staying at

her apartment. And as soon as I got to her

apartment, we ended up having sex. And a

few weeks later, I noticed these strange

symptoms. For example, I would have this

uncomfortable sensation whilst urinating,

and my joints would become inflamed. They

would swell up and become incredibly

painful. At first, I just kind of ignored

it, and I thought it would go away by

itself. But at the time, my girlfriend

also started having these strange pains

around her stomach, her lower stomach

area, and she decided to go to the

hospital. And the doctors suggested— they

suspected that she might have some kind of

sexually transmitted disease, and they

gave her antibiotics. And they also

recommended that we both go to some kind

of sex clinic to get properly tested. So

we did that, and we came up as positive

for chlamydia, and they gave us

antibiotics, which I took. And after I

took the antibiotics, everything cleared

up. Apart from the joint pains. So I

looked it up on Google and apparently a

small percentage of men after getting

chlamydia, they also get this thing called

reactive arthritis, which is caused by the

chlamydia infection. It was really scary

because I was reading these message boards

and forums about this reactive arthritis

from people who have the same problem.

And some people were saying that even 5

years later, 10 years later, they were

still experiencing these joint pains after

getting chlamydia. And it scared the shit

out of me because the joint pains were so

incredibly painful. I couldn't even walk

sometimes. At first it was just my elbows

and knees. They would swell up to the

point that I couldn't actually bend my

arms or legs. But the worst pains were the

hip joint pains, because if you have a

painful joint in your hip, it becomes

incredibly uncomfortable and painful to

walk. It was okay if it was just one side

because I could kind of limp around, but

sometimes both of the hip joints would

become inflamed at the same time and it

just became impossible to walk. If I

wanted to go anywhere, for example the

toilet, I had to literally crawl along the

floor, drag my body across the floor using

my arms. It was just so painful. I

couldn't even walk. I couldn't stand up.

It was just— it was even difficult to sit

upright after lying down in bed. And even

when I coughed or if I sneezed, it would

be really painful because when you cough

or sneeze, it tenses up all those muscles

around that area, the lower stomach area,

and And it would just be really painful

every time I tried to move. My girlfriend

wasn't very helpful. She wasn't very

supportive. She didn't even help me when I

was trying to walk to the toilet.

Instead, she would laugh at me and say

things like, you look like an old man

limping around. I don't think she quite

understood exactly how much pain I was in,

but if a person is limping around and

can't even stand up properly, I think

that's a good sign that he's in a lot of

pain. Anyway, even after taking the

antibiotics, I was still having these

joint pains, and even 5 months later,

When I came back to the UK, when I came

back home, I was still limping around

because I had these joint pains and they

were still pretty painful. And I was

limping around the house and my parents

would ask me, why are you limping? What's

wrong with you? So I kind of had to come

clean and I had to tell them what happened

because I didn't really see any point in

making up excuses or trying to hide it.

And I was scared. I was scared that I was

going to have these horrible joint pains

for the rest of my life. That's the thing

with arthritis. There's not really any

long-term cure for it. All you can do is

take painkillers or steroid injections

into the joints to ease the pain. But then

after that wears off, the pain can just

come back again. But thankfully, things

did start to get better as time passed.

The joint pains became less frequent and

the pain became less intense, and it

didn't last as long as it used to. I

usually only get the joint pains about 2

or 3 times every year. Last year it

happened around March and then again in

October, and then this year The other day

was actually the first time I had the

joint pains this year. So I feel like it's

slowly getting better bit by bit,

gradually. The pain I had a few days ago,

it wasn't that bad. It was— it wasn't

enough to make me limp, but it was pretty

uncomfortable. It's just like this

uncomfortable aching pain every time I

tried to walk. So yeah, 3 years later,

still suffering the consequences of having

chlamydia. Fun times. Now that I

think about it, it's almost been exactly 3

years since it happened because I went in

August of 2014 and it's July now.

Also, I would not recommend going to Japan

in August because it was unbearably hot

and the mosquitoes were a nightmare. It

was hot and humid. I was getting bitten

like hell, and I have like this reaction

when I get bitten by mosquitoes. It swells

up. I get this massive lump where I get

bitten. It was just Terrible. It wasn't a

great time, 2014 Japan. If I could go back

in time, would I do things differently? I

don't think I would because the sex was so

unbelievably good that using a condom

would have just ruined the whole

experience. If I could have sex with her

again, but I had to get chlamydia for a

second time, then I think I would just get

it for a second time. I mean, it's no big

deal. It's just a bit of joint pain. It's

not the end of the world. I can still

walk. Recently, someone at work started

using shea butter hand cream, and there's

a tube of it behind the cash register.

And my girlfriend from that time, she also

used shea butter cream on her body. And

every time there's no one around and

there's no one looking, I start sniffing

this tube of shea butter cream,

and it reminds me of her so much. It

actually turns me on because now I

associate the smell of shea butter cream

with having sex. Is that weird? If you

looked at the CCTV footage, you'll see me

sitting there sniffing this tube like—

like some kind of crack addict.
