Why I HATE Fortnite on Switch Lite Gameplay

Hello and welcome back to Fortnite. So

it's been a while since I last played

Fortnite. If you remember back to 2018, I

used to be pretty addicted to it. I used

to play all the time, every day. And you

may be surprised to hear that since I

don't really seem like the kind of person

who would get addicted to some stupid

children's game. But I thought it was kind

of, um, yeah, first time I saw it, I

thought, what a load of rubbish this game

is, looks like. Another one of those fads

like Minecraft that's a load of rubbish.

But then I started playing it and I

actually had a lot of fun. I first started

playing it on my phone because if you

remember, it was out on every single

device, even smartphones.

And I started off playing it on my mobile

phone, and as you can imagine, it's kind

of uncomfortable playing Fortnite on the

touchscreen, but it kind of worked well.

And I was doing pretty well, and I started

thinking to myself, there must be a better

way to play this game. And my next idea

was to get it on the Switch. So I bought a

Switch— not this Switch, I actually had

the original Switch back then— and,

um, yeah, I got the game on Switch, but

for some reason I didn't really like it.

It was kind of strange after playing it on

the smartphone version for such a long

time. And I played

a few games on the Switch, and I kind of

just didn't even give it a try because it

felt so strange, and everyone really

sucked on it. People on smartphone version

of Fortnite were quite good at the game,

but on the Switch version, I don't know if

it's because everyone who has a Switch is

either 10 years old or they just really

suck at Fortnite, but I was just winning

the game so easily. I, I came first place

about 4 times in a row. And I'm not even

that good at it, as you'll see in this

match. It's also kind of hard to play and

talk at the same time, so probably

won't do that well.

Oh crap, I didn't even see that person. I

think I'm gonna run. Who's trying to kill

me? Okay, yeah, we're gonna die straight

away. Well, that was rubbish. Oh my

god, this This is the irritating thing

about Fortnite. It's, um, when you die

straight at the beginning, it just makes

you feel like you wasted all that time

waiting in the lobby, parachuting down

from the bus, collecting anything you

collected, and then you just die in the

first 10 minutes and you feel like, wow,

I just wasted 10 minutes for absolutely

nothing. Yeah,

that's always been something I hated about

the game. It's when you've invested so

much time collecting stuff, getting good

guns, and then you die about 10 or 20

minutes in, and it just feels like— just

feels annoying because then you have to

start all the way from the beginning, you

lose all your progress. And I feel like

there's a lot of time wasting as well,

you know, sitting in this stupid bus

waiting for it to hover over the place you

want to land in, and then it takes so long

to get from the bus down to the ground.

So those are my first complaints about the

game, just too much time wasting.

Okay, so going back to my history of

playing the game, I used to play Fortnite

with my viewers back when my viewers

actually watched my bloody videos.

And then I moved to playing onto a laptop,

on the laptop, and that was just a

completely different experience using a

mouse and keyboard compared to using

touchscreen with my thumbs Oh, one thing I

used to do to make it easier to play on

the smartphone was I used to rub my nose

with my thumbs to get my thumbs nice and

oily, because then it would slide across

the screen easily without any friction.

If you had a dry finger, dry thumbs, or

dry screen, it made playing the game kind

of difficult because your fingers wouldn't

glide across the screen as well. So I'd

rub my nose because my nose is usually a

bit oily. I just noticed the light on the

ceiling kind of looks like a boob.

How can I show this? That's fine.

Yeah, so I made my fingers oily to glide

across the screen, and that would help,

help me a bit.

So yeah, it's been about 2 years. Every

single time, piss off.

Yes, I knocked someone down.

Okay, so I've beaten someone. Don't know

what these cherry things do.

Oh, it gives you health. So yeah, it's

been about 2 years since I last played,

so there's a lot of new things in the game

that I don't quite understand. So it looks

like there's, there's food. Crap,

who's shooting me?

Oh no, I'm out of ammo.

Do I have any materials? I've trapped

myself inside there. Should I run? No,

I'm surrounded.

Ah, I'm not doing well. Today. So yeah,

it's been 2 years since I last played the

game. There's a lot of new things in it.

There's new weapons, um,

there's some kind of charged shotgun which

is new. Yeah, I'm just gonna leave this

game. And there's vehicles. Back when I

used to play it, the only vehicle was the

golf cart, and now there's trucks and

there's cars. You can even drive the

lorries, which is pretty cool. Very nice

addition. There's also a helicopter which

wasn't there before,

so there's quite a new— quite a lot of new

additions to the game. Seems like there's

also some new areas, so it's nice

to see that they've added so much new

content to it, and you don't even have to

pay for it. The great thing about Fortnite

is It's completely free. You don't have to

buy anything. You can buy skins if you

want to, but it's kind of amazing to think

that they just let everyone play this

game, which is quite a fun game, quite a

good-looking game, and you don't have to

pay anything, not even a penny.

So here's a little trick. If you aim for

this blue and red circle It destroys the

object faster and you get more materials.

You don't know how long it took me to

understand that. I was playing it for ages

and I didn't understand why this circle

thing kept popping up, and then I finally

realized you get more things. Oh look,

what's this?

Is it a fishing rod? Oh yeah, you can do

fishing as well. They've added so many

unnecessary things.

Well, I guess you could go fishing if you

want to. Someone's shooting me already.

I just cannot catch a break.

I guess we could turn the sound on.

So about this video, um, I was going to

call it Why I Hate Fortnite, and I still

am, but the thing is There's just not many

things to hate about the game, especially

when it's a free game.

You're really not losing anything. What

else could I hate about it?

Hmm. Oh crap, someone's over there. Well,

first of all, one of the other things I

hate is when you can't find a bloody gun

and you keep dying at the beginning.

That's kind of annoying.

Oh look, what's this? It's a chair.

Oh no, someone's down there and I'm

sliding straight towards him.

Oh, he doesn't seem to care.

Well, that's nice.

So I feel like my addiction

has kind of shifted from Mortal Kombat to

Fortnite again. I keep switching main

games that I play. Before, before Mortal

Kombat, what did I play? I think I

was playing a lot of Mario Kart. And then

I got Mortal Kombat just on a whim,

thinking it would be rubbish. And I played

a lot of Mortal Kombat, started to get fed

up with it though. I feel like something

new, so I thought, why don't I give

Fortnite a try again? I want to show you

one of the cars. Look, this is one of the

cars you can drive. It's actually quite

nice just driving around. The driving

does feel a bit strange sometimes, like

it's not very responsive,

but it's a nice addition. Before, you

could only drive the golf buggies.

You know what I really want on Switch?

GTA. That would be amazing. I don't know

why GTA doesn't come out on Switch.

Switch could easily handle it.

Just driving around, running people over,

that would be fantastic. Now the annoying

thing about the cars is that when you

drive on grass, it just goes really slow.

You gotta stay on the roads.

So this is basically all you do in

Fortnite. You run around trying to get

weapons, materials. As the circle shrinks,

you need to be prepared for a showdown

because all of the other good players will

be waiting in the shrinking circle.

And that's basically the whole game.

Don't really do much else.

Oh look, I can drive this as well.

I don't know how to turn the radio off,

and I don't want music to play because I

might get into trouble.

Well, that's all I had to say about

Fortnite. Not much really.

This video was kind of challenging to

make, but yeah, I can't really think of

anything else to complain about, so I

think I'll just leave it there.
