DO NOT BUY Samsung S24 ULTRA - Very Disapponting...

Hello, welcome back to a new video. So

recently the Samsung S24 Ultra has been

announced and it's soon to be released,

and I just wanted to make a video today

reviewing the phone, thinking about buying

it for myself, but then also thinking

about maybe I shouldn't because it's an

overpriced piece of rubbish, which we'll

be talking about in today's video. So the

main new features for the Samsung S24

Ultra are that it is titanium, so they're

basically just copying the iPhone 15 I

find the whole titanium thing extremely

boring. So it's just supposed to be

stronger and more durable as a metal than

aluminum, which is what they were using

before. And then Apple decided to use

titanium instead of stainless steel

because it's lighter. I mean, you can't

really recognize the difference between 10

or 50 grams lighter. It's just such a

boring talking point to talk about, oh,

it's made out of titanium. I don't really

care what it's made out of as long as it's

not made out of paper or glass. As for the

processor, it's using the brand new

Snapdragon 3, which is supposed to be the

fastest mobile processor ever, even faster

than Apple's A17 chips, which was supposed

to be the fastest chips. But now this

Snapdragon Gen 3 is supposed to be even

faster, and honestly, I don't really feel

like I'd care. I'm using a Samsung Galaxy

Flip 4, which came out a couple years ago

now, and it's using like a pretty old CPU

from a couple generations ago, but it

feels completely fine. I don't really care

if it takes 0.10 milliseconds faster to

open up an app, or if I can export a video

at 5 seconds or 10 seconds faster than I

can export it on this phone, it's not

really a massive deal breaker for me if it

can just be like 0.5% faster. So I'm not

really that bothered about the new

Snapdragon 3 processing chip. As for the

cameras on the new Samsung S24 Ultra,

they're basically the same but slightly

better. I don't really think most people

are going to notice the improvement in the

camera quality, but one thing to notice is

they've removed the 10x zoom camera and

replace it with a 5x zoom camera, which

doesn't really make any sense to me. It's

like they've degraded or downgraded the

10x down to a 5x. So if you really like

using the 10x, I guess you now have to—

you're now stuck with the 5x. But the

logic is they removed the 10x because not

many people were using it, and they've

added a more useful 5x, which is supposed

to have better image quality than the 10x.

But what if you want to do 10x zoom? Then

you're going to have to use the 5x and

digital crop into the image, which surely

is going to look worse than a 10x optical.

So if you really want a 10x zoom, you

might just have to get the Samsung S23

Ultra instead of the brand new 24 Ultra.

There's a few differences with the design.

Now the design is slightly less curvy

around the corners and it's more boxy,

which I think is a mistake. A lot of

people were complaining that the corners

of the S23 Ultra were too sharp and too

pointed and too angular. Now they've just

made it even more angular and more boxy,

which kind of goes against what most

people were complaining about. It also has

tougher Gorilla glass, which I don't

really care about because out of all the

phones I've ever had, I've never dropped

the phone and had the screen break. So I

don't really care too much about the new

tougher Gorilla Glass. And also the screen

brightness, it can now go up to a higher

number of nits, so it's even brighter than

other phones, which again I don't really

care too much about. So these are like

very minor improvements over the previous

phone, which none of them really excite me

that much. The other thing they keep going

on about now is the AI, Galaxy AI. And I

don't know about you, but I'm getting so

sick and tired of hearing AI, AI, AI

everywhere. AI has been talked about so

much recently that I just don't really

care anymore. AI doesn't impress me

anymore, doesn't interest me anymore, is

boring. So with the new Galaxy AI, you can

do amazing things like you can make a

normal video go into slow-mo mode if you

hold down on it. How is that interesting

or new? You can do that— you've been able

to do that since forever. I've always been

able to take a normal video, put it into

my video editor, and then drag the speed

down to make it slow-mo, and it looks

fine. I don't know why this suddenly is

supposed to be like a new AI thing that

only AI can do. I've been able to do that

since 2017 on my editing software.

And then you can also speed up a slow-mo

video. So if you originally took the video

in slow-mo mode, you can now speed it up

so it's now normal mode, which again you

could always do. You could always just

take a slow video and then speed it up in

the video editing software that I use on

my computer. I have complete control over

the speed of the video. I don't need AI to

do it. You can do other little photo

editing tricks using the AI, which I guess

could be quite handy, and it's quite

nifty, I guess, but they're not really

that interesting. So for example, you take

a selfie and some idiot old man was

walking in the background and ruined your

perfect selfie. You can now lasso him and

just get rid of him, and through the

magic, the power and the magic of AI, he

just gets erased, and instead of like a

white hole that is left where he was, AI

somehow knows how to fix the background to

make it look like he was never there in

the first place. Also, for example, you

take a photo and there's like a coffee cup

on the table, you can now just lasso it

and get rid of it, and the AI fixes the

background to make it look like a natural

background where the cup once was. So

that's kind of cool. You've got other

things like background remover, but again

you've always been able to remove

backgrounds on images using anything

really. So as a YouTuber, I have to make

thumbnails and I often have to remove the

background of products or myself to put

like a colorful background behind me. And

there's a website, I just type background

image remover onto Google and it does the

same thing for me. I don't need like fancy

AI to be able to do that. Very basic

programs have always been able to remove

the background in images and being able to

isolate certain things and extract that

from a picture so you can use it in a

YouTube thumbnail. So I'm not really

excited about the Galaxy AI or its image

editing abilities or the slow-mo thing.

That is all very boring. And when it comes

to the price of this phone, it's just

absolutely ridiculous. It's like $1,300 or

about £1,000. This is almost as expensive

as my expensive gaming laptop with RTX

4050 graphics card. That thing cost me

$1,700. So it's only a couple hundred

dollars cheaper than my very high-spec

premium laptop. And I don't feel like

phones should be this expensive. When the

phone is almost, or if in some cases more

expensive than a gaming laptop, then it's

kind of doing something wrong. I don't see

why a phone should ever even be able to

compete closely to a laptop in terms of

functionality and specs. A phone is just a

thing that goes in your pocket. It's

supposed to be fast, takes nice photos,

But it's not a computer. So why is it

priced like a computer? So yeah, for those

reasons, I don't really feel like I can

recommend buying the S24 Ultra. It does

seem kind of nifty, and this slight

improvement in specs could be tempting for

some of you who really can't wait that

extra 10 milliseconds for apps to open or

things to load. Then maybe you'd want it.

And if the Galaxy AI stuff really

impresses you, then I would say that

you're very easily impressed because none

of it impressed me. It has some kind of

language stuff as well, like you could

talk to someone in a different language

and then it can like transcribe it and

translate it into their— I mean, Google

Translate has been able to do this for the

last 20 years. This is not new stuff. So

unfortunately, I don't really feel like I

can recommend the S24 Ultra. I personally

don't think I'm going to be buying it. If

I was looking at a new phone, maybe the

ROG Gaming Phone 8 looks more interesting

and appealing to me. The Samsungs just

kind of look kind of boring as of right

now, and I'd be waiting for something

that's a bit more innovative and a bit

more different than just refresh of the

previous S23 Ultra, which is kind of what

it seems like at this moment. So yeah, do

not buy this phone. Looks rubbish and
